Abel looked a bit unsettled as Xiu went on. It was that way of speaking that had always bothered him in the past, and it was one of the reasons that he'd hated Himitsu's shop. Just that unsettling way she seemed to know things. Even now, he didn't know how she knew the things she did, only that she did, and it bothered him like how it always had.
"Himitsu always knew more than she should have," Abel said in response to Jun and Shinku. "It doesn't surprise me that her reincarnation knows too."
Palette blinked. "Wait, you're...?" She'd been wondering about things. Why Abel had asked about someone named Xiu before. The comments about Himitsu, How Xiu had reacted when that prophecy had come up. And now...
Kerro had a feeling he knew why Xiu knew all of this self, but he was being smart and not saying why Xiu knew all of this. He knew it would freak them out at least a tad.

Jun blinked, "What?"
Shinku merely stared.
Xiu lowered her shoulders in an exaggerated sigh. She looked towards Palette with a sad expression and just kept the pose for a bit. Really, she had to tell her eventually. Himitsu had suspected she would stay near Eriol, and she'd wanted to reunite Kerro with Eriol. She reached up and grabbed the large pendant around her neck. The side that was facing forward had the Chinese kanji for ice, although the only ones in the group that might notice that were the three wooden dolls. The back had the Chinese kanji for lightning.
"He's right. However," she turned to Abel, "I'm not Himitsu. I just have her memories. You killed Himitsu."
"Uh....?" Jun said. It wasn't that he didn't believe in reincarnation, but... how old was she again? He looked a little lost.

Abel gave a pained smile and looked away as Xiu said she just had Himitsu's memories. "Just like how I just have Abel's memories, huh?" he said quietly. Their situations weren't the same. Abel's was extremely different from Xiu's. But that one comment of hers had caused him to gain a bit of sympathy for her. He regained the flat expression as he looked up again.
"I did kill her, and it caused all of my problems, too. I hope you're enjoying this life," Abel said. He turned to leave. "I got what I needed. If we survive the Fall, I'll find some way to pay you back."
And with that, he was gone. Rather literally, he'd broken off into a blindingly fast run. Palette found herself blinking at how fast he'd run off. That was not normal. Then again, was anything about this kid normal?
"Geez, just like that..." She said, and looked back toward Xiu. "So you have Himitsu's memories? That's kind of..."
"That pendant..." Eriol had caught the character for "lightning" on it. "My key's in there, isn't it?" Yui looked more than a bit tense at that statement from Eriol. Yui was of the opinion Eriol did not need that key back at all.

Xiu leaned towards Abel as he whispered. She hadn't quite caught what he'd said. When he looked up she jumped back in surprise and fumbled with what she was holding as he gave his callous remark. She seemed upset and had opened her mouth to respond just as he shot off. She stared after him for a while.
"We should begin to look for a way to escape. I have doubts Laplace's Demon would abandon us here to die. It seems contrary to his previous goals," Shinku stated.
"Reincarnation...."
"Jun."
Jun shook his head, "If what he says is true, what the hell are we supposed to do!? Just wait for the world to end!?"
"I don't believe the world is going to end," Xiu said, although she looked as if she was trying to convince herself of that as much as anything else. She jumped as Eriol addressed her and turned to him. She looked down at the hand holding hte pendant, "....Yes."
No point in lying, after all.

Eriol fidgeted a bit as Xiu confirmed what he thought. He clasped his hands and looked down as he made his request.
"Can.... can I have it back?" Eriol asked. Palette was watching the situation very carefully now. "I... just want to hold it again."
Yui looked very alarmed at that statement. "No way! If he has that thing again, he'll go on another killing spree! I refuse to let any more innocents die just because he has another weapon!"
Kerro wasn't sure what to think about that. He could feel he had some memory of that weapon and that doll, but every time he reached for it, it got further away from him. It was almost like his mind was keeping him from remembering it.
"I think you should hang onto that key, Ms. Xiu," Kerro stated.
