Mokou is pretty laid-back; tomboyish and no-nonsense, she is always willing to lend a hand to those who need it. Hates Kaguya with a burning (pardon the pun) passion and enjoys her suffering (See Michael's story of the beehive in Kaguya's bed for an example)
History
Mokou was born sometime in 9th Century Japan, to a well-renowned family, the Fujiwara Clan. Her father attempted to win the affections of one Kaguya Houraisan, even managing to retrieve one of the Five Impossible Requests of hers. Kaguya had the object stolen and replaced, humiliating Mokou's father, making the Fujiwara lose favor with the people, and earning Mokou's eternal hatred. Mokou, to try and get back at her, snuck into her residence and stole the Hourai Elixir, a legendary medicine made by Eirin Yagokoro that makes the drinker immortal in all senses of the word. Mokou cannot get sick, regenerates from anything (losing limbs included), and will always come back from death, regardless of how she died.
Mokou later was given the power of a phoenix; she gained Pyromancy, lost her hair pigment (it was black beforehand, and is now stark white) and basically became double immortal. She lived in the Bamboo Forest of the Lost, becoming friends with Keine Kamishirasawa and still feuding with Kaguya (who is also immortal thanks to the Elixir). When the Eintei group caused the Incident, Mokou fought against Reporters Team (Michael and Aya) and was beaten. Mokou and Michael became good friends afterward, initially spurred by their mutual hatred of Kaguya. Mokou was Michael's "A option" partner in Subterranean Animism.
After Michael and co. left for the Dimensional Island, Mokou got bored with the lull between fights with Kaguya. She asked Yukari if she could go, gathered some stuff, and left for the Dimensional Island.

As stated, Mokou cannot truly die from anything. Soul-stealing will not work on her. Also, her outfit reminds one of Fire Mario...
