Physical Description
Taokaka is a rather unique take on the catgirl archetype with light brown skin and long blond hair tied up into two braids and a black cat tail with a faded white tip. She seems to spend her entire time wearing a beige-colored hoodie with a cat hood and long cat-themed sleeves that cover her arms. She wears a pair of unusually-designed high-heel boots with the same cat theme but appear to be more fit for a creature with high ankles. According to concept art, Taokaka typically dresses skimpy underneath the hoodie, wearing only red panties with red straps. Taokaka's actual face has been the subject of interest by both the characters and audience alike; her hood has been stated to conceal her facial features and she never removes it. All that can be seen are a pair of red beady eyes and an ever constant toothy grin that tends to emulate emotions when conveying facial expressions. According to an ingame joke, the paws on the end of her hoodie sleeves contain a pair of salmon that Tao has hid there (Though if she remembers if they are there or not is left up to speculation). Topping all of this off, Tao has a tabi cat tail that's mostly black right up till the white fur on the tip. Basically, she is a cat-girl fan's dream come true...
Personality
But... At the same time, she's a sane man's worst nightmare. If one had to come up with a phrase that would best describe Tao, it would be that she's 'ADHD Incarnate'. At her worst, Tao forgets things she's told almost the instant she's told it, and many who have met Tao instantly puts off her forgetful nature as her being an idiot. Due to her forgetful nature, she often calls people she meets by nicknames she gives them rather then their actual names, the most infamous example of this naming her friend Litchi 'Boobie Lady' (Though it is interesting to note that if said people are mentioned by their real name in front of Tao, she will usually know whom the person is talking about). Always a silly little thing, Tao is pretty much the epitomy of innocent and naieve idiocy, which is what may people adore about her character.
Weapons
Her paw like sleeve enders are fully capable of drawing metal claws and various other weapons depending on the circumstances. These claws seem to change slightly depending on what attack she wants to do at the time; even though they seem to default as curved, knife-sized flat metal blades, they can also appear as serrated saws, "can-opener" style hooks, or even more ornate blades that resemble arrowheads.
Abilities/Powers
To be bluntly honest, Tao has a gigantic amount of untapped fighting potential. Due to her upbringing as a member of the Kaka clan, she has enhanced agility and almost extreme mobility. Along with that, she seems to have the ability to naturally use seithr, a poisonous magical mist native to her world, and uses the energy in the gas to use powerful attacks, even though she has no known prior schooling towards such a subject. Rumors circulate that, since the Kaka Clan is a race of bio weapons created from the genes of Jubei, the One Eyed Lotus, Tao MAY be able to use Jubei's legendary power... However, Tao's general lack of brains prevent her from discovering this power if, indeed, it even exists within her.
Skills
Tao has few skills aside from fighting. However if someone has to have an eating contest, Tao would likely win paws down. She also is a noted caregiver, since she has looked after her village's kittens on normal occasion.
History
Little is known about Tao's history, since very little is known about the Kaka Clan in general. What can be said about Tao however is that she was chosen at a very early age, practically a kitten, when she was chosen by Torakaka, the then current guardian of Lost Town, to be trained so that she could succeed her and protect the village while she was away fighting in the Ikaruga Civil War (And has been gone from the village for an extended period since then).
Tao grew up growing stronger and stronger thanks to lessons from the one she knows as 'Cat Person' (Jubei) and Torakaka during their regular visits, and Tao has protected the village for years. Really, Tao's help wasn't exactly needed too much... At least until a creature known to Tao as 'the Black Squiggly Thingy' suddenly appeared, forcing her to take action. Squiggly (Really Arakune) was a tough creature to beat, but Tao was able to keep him back and force him from the village.
Ever since then, things have grown more and more hectic in Tao's life, as she got to meet 'Boobie Lady' (Litchi), during one of her visits to the village, whilst she was talking to the elder, and became transfixed on why the woman had 'Meatbuns' (One of her favorite foods) on her chest, and the friendship was soon sealed.
A year passed since Tao's first meeting with Litchi, and Tao had grown accustomed, mostly, to her new life; keeping her eyes open for Arakune, and regularly visiting Litchi at her clinic either for the elder or for her own reasons. One day however, as Tao was resting in her absolute favorite napping spot, when she was approached by the kittens of the village, whom bore a new job for Tao from the elder. Said job being for Tao to hunt down a man named 'Rawrgna' and collect the money on his head to help the village. Though Tao at first sleepily refuses, she was soon off into the big city above.
While there, she runs into the bounty himself, but Ragna, being a good guy at heart, defused the non-suspicious Tao since she only attacked him for his food instead of attacking him due to the poster's picture (In Tao's defense though, Ragna's wanted poster picture does NOT have a flattering picture), and nicknames him 'Good Guy' since he willingly shares his food with her. Ragna and Tao became fast friends, and that friendship holds strong to this day. Also on this day, she got the chance to meet Bang Shishigami (Whom she names 'Scruffy man'), and the two's friendship blossomed into a mentor-student relationship.
In the events of Continuum Shift, while taking a nap, Taokaka sees Ragna fall to her village (after being wounded by Nirvana). She manages to defend Ragna from Arakune's assault and goes to fetch Litchi to heal him. Ragna leaves shortly after recovering and Tao follows after, although she ends up encountering a brainwashed Noel and Hazama. She is thoroughly beaten by Hazama, although Jubei manages to save her and brings her back to the village. Realizing that she has a lot of training to do, Tao leaves in order to get stronger while allowing her sister Torakaka to be the village guardian in her absence. She manages to catch Ragna as he leaves Kagutsuchi for Ikaruga as Jubei told her to keep an eye on him.
Other
Their are very few differences between this Tao and the Tao of the games. She speaks with a few cat like 'mews' every now and again, she fondles grown women's breasts out of curiosity, and, generally, Tao is an annoyance, an idiot, and a cutie; all around one of my most favorite video game characters.
