John chuckled, not at all surprised by her flustered explanation. “Aw, whatever. It’s a great name!”
He stood up, wobbling a bit as his legs had gone a bit numb, and hobbling over to the cave entrance. Evaluating the storm, lessened in intensity, he nodded to Jade. “Yeah… yeah, this is more manageable. I think I can actually see the huge frozen lake from here. Void City’s just south of it.”
The thought of them going home was more inviting than ever, and the thought of them exploring the island even more made him shudder. Though that might’ve been the cold, even if he felt numb. He was actually feeling pretty tired, now that both his survival and papa instincts had calmed down. He never wanted so sleep in a nice warm bed anymore than he did right now.
Still, he cowboy’d up, realizing he still had not one, but now two consorts to bring home with him. He steeled himself up to throw them a sheepish grin, outstretching his arms in offering.
“Right then… let’s go home," he proclaimed, sniffing on the side.
