Aby had decided it was a good idea to take a step back when Tarosuke got zapped by the sword. She'd seen the fight earlier, but it had been a bit muted compared to what most of the group had seen. The fact that both she and Rax'aar had seen any of it was a testament to the sheer amount of youki that had been flying around. Koenma had opened his mouth to tell Tarosuke he shouldn't try that, but considering the track record the short yokai was already setting for himself, he let the sword do as he expected. Botan had eeped a bit and hopped back, having not expected things to happen like that. Ginger had moved back a bit more as Tarosuke first reached for it. Kurama had just watched, the only one of the characters this author controls that seemed to realize as long as one didn't threaten the blade, it wouldn't shock them.
Next came Yuusuke's attempt. Koenma expected Yuusuke to let go as he sensed the energy that allowed it to zap the teenager spike. When Yuusuke didn't let go, he berated himself for trying to predict the actions of the black haired human. Especially considering that he'd erred on the side of having brains. He just covered his face in a facepalming fashion as Yuusuke continued to fight with the blade. The teenager managed to get it out of the ground and dropped it to the ground. Koenma said nothing as he walked over and picked it up. He glanced at Yuusuke, and it was rather amusing that he didn't see the least bit concerned about the teenager.
"Does this mean Kuwabara is going to have to carry him? It would be unwise to take the sword without its master. He'll know exactly where we are," Koenma stated, clearly showing he knew at least as much about the weapon as most of the group were suspecting by this point.
Aby gave Rah-boy her definition of a "light" punch in the upper arm as his shoulders slumped. By her definition, he'd have a small bruise if his body had the same resiliance to blows that a human's would, "Hey, don't look so depressive. Don't tell me you aren't finding this interesting, Rah-boy."
"I could take him if I assumed my human form," Ginger offered.
"This isn't a matter of your world," Koenma stated. He kneeled down and looked at Suzu, "He doesn't seem to use a sheath, so I'll carry this. The sword obviously doesn't trust most of the group."
"Koenma-sama, what's so special about that sword? Isn't it just another Makai artifact?"
"No, it's Reikai one," Koenma turned when he saw the look of confusion on Botan's face, "Later. Kurama is right, we need to get out of here," his expression darkened a bit, "These two are damn lucky no humans were caught up in their encounter... Botan, I'll expect a report later."
Botan sighed, but didn't object. He could have made Yuusuke do it, couldn't he?
