(OOC: Somewhat unlikely you'll be let in. Firefly/Serenity knowledge almost a must. Me and Jilak to start.)
Bonsai Village was perhaps better described as a small town than a village. The main part was village sized, true enough, but the farmland and various patch settlements extended pretty far in either direction. On one of the outermost patch settlements, a little known bar was wet up. It got good enough business, but it was due to the other residents of the patch settlement more than outsiders. In fact, outsiders were almost unheard of there.
It was why everyone in the bar looked up at the arrival of two oriental individuals. Going in first was a man of average height and noticeable grace. Not the kind of grace a dancer might have, but the kind that made him seem almost impossible to knock over. His dark grey hair was for the most part short, just a bit longer than a crewcut. His bangs were a contrast to that. They were long, thin, and tapered down to his lips after a slight raised area where they came out of his head. His navy shirt was loose enough to be called a blouse by mistake, although it lacked the sleeves. His pants were just as loose, the bottoms concealed by the black soft-soled boots.
Over all that was a black cloak, which pretty much concealed the outfit. He glared at the eyes staying on him, and it was enough to send most people back to their business. He stepped to the side of the door, holding it open and gesturing inwards. For his somewhat rough and ready appearance, the woman that came in after him was a sharp contrast. A lady compared to a thief would not have been a bad comparison.
Yi-Min took maybe three steps inside of the building. She gave a nod towards the man who had come in before her, and he seemed to relax a bit. He walked over to the bar and pulled a chair out. In contrast to the man's mixed with Asian ancestry, the woman was clearly pure Chinese. Her dark purple bordering on black hair seemed to be long, but she had it done in a well made bun with the hair wrapped around it, creating an impressive look.
Her tanned shirt fit well and was only a bit loose, the long sleeves with buttoned cuffs at the wrists and the bottom tucked into her black pants. Those were of a similar tailoring job to her shirt, and were tucked into her black combat boots. Over the outfit was a brown trenchcoat with long sleeves. The left arm of the trenchcoat had a logo on it. It had a white sword-like spaceship over a navy patch with a black border. The letters "GA" were in blood red lettering over the base of the ship, and "Global Alliance" was at the top of the patch in white lettering, to either side of the ship. Over her forehead were a pair of high tech goggles.
Yi-Min and Kiyoshi sat at the bar. She laced her bare hands together and waited for the man behind the counter to come and ask for her order. Kiyoshi tensed up, and she held up a slender fingered hand in a "stop" position. She reached into her pocket, causing the trenchcoat to flip back a bit and reveal a holstered pistol of some sort. It wasn't of standard design, in any case, being black and with a narrow barrel. No normal bullet could come out of it. She pulled something out of her wallet and held it up.
"My name is Yi-Min Song, and this is my partner Kiyoshi Hayasa. We're here looking for an escaped prisoner of the Global Alliance. Have you seen this boy?"
The picture she had shown the man was of a teenager. He looked to be sixteen or seventeen and in somewhat poor condition. An oversized shirt, hacked up indigo hair, and a look like he hadn't slept in a week. Kiyoshi hand his arms crossed and was staring down the man behind the counter. Those that could read body language would realize he was ready to intimidate as much as he needed to...

"We've met a numerous amount of interesting people in this dimension, haven't we, X?" A voice rang out across the bar. it was that of a male, and he sounded rather... smug, to be honest. And there was something else, something... more sinister, lurking under the surface of his tone. Then the other, almost identical, voice started up.
"Why yes, Y. The people here are VERY intriguing." Responded the man known as 'X'. The two men, who, by the way, seemed to be IDENTICAL twins, approached the counter, X taking a seat, Y standing behind him.
"Even more interesting, we all seem to be looking for someone." X continued, pulling out a rather old photograph of a young girl.
"River Tam, weapon belonging to the Alliance. It was STOLEN from us, by this one." X finished, pulling forth a photograph of her brother, Simon Tam. The bartender would probably note his use of 'it' instead of 'she'.

Yoshi looked over towards the voices as they approached. He had a prepared expression on his face. It wasn't unkind per se, but it had a definite no nonsense air about it. The two twins with what could only be codenames approached Yi-Min, and Yoshi tensed up as if ready to pounce. Yi-Min had caught his body language more than a bit. She'd put her hand on the flat barrelled pistol in the holster to her right and turned in the opposite direction of where Kiyoshi was standing to watch them approach. She still had the picture being shown to the bartender, who was suddenly feeling very nervous.
She didn't seem as poised to strike as Yoshi was. Yoshi, who was now walking over to the otherside of where the man and his twin/partner had sat. He still didn't take a seat, but it was pretty clear he was taking a position so both sides of the men would be covered. Yi-Min raised an eyebrow at the first image, noting the pronoun usage. She glanced to the other image before looking the men straight in the eyes. She didn't like their expression much but didn't avert eye contact. She angled the image from the bartender so the new arrivals could get a look at it.
"Interesting name your organization has, I'll admit. Even more interesting we're both looking for property of our respective authorities," she glanced at the images again, "I can't say I've seen either of them. However, please accept my assurance I'll give you any information I should come upon. In any case, have you seen this teenager? If it is of any help, he is referred to as Makoto Shinen or Psycho-Slave Battery #136, who escaped thanks to an attack on one of our compounds."
The bartender began taking some careful steps away. There were now four people that made him nervous. And neither of them seemed to be bothered by the act of referring to humans as nothing more than tools. He began to speed up a bit as the dark gray haired man to the far side of the two men pulled out a dagger out of what seemed like thin air. He kept a critical gaze on the two men while picking the dirt out from his fingernails with the weapon.

Part of that stuck out to the twins. An... attack, she said? Why, that sounded like something Simon and his newfound ragtag group of mercenaries would do. And if the Alliance was foolhardy enough to toss Doctor Tam through the portal, it was logical that they were foolhardy enough to leave him a back door. He could have easily found his way to this particular dimension. Especially with that rogue Jayne Cobb on his team. The two had heard what had happened back on the mudders' world, the man was obviously the brains of the operation. It was logical, really. The leader of their little group hiding amongst the other rogues. If surveillance tapes were to be believed, it WAS him that started up the machine, getting Malcolm Reynolds to Dimensional Island. Perhaps he'd merely made it look like an accident to make the attack more effective? More of a surprise?
Furthermore, the attack sounded vaguely like the event that had led to the freedom of subject River Tam. If her brother was still as self righteous as he was last the Alliance had heard of him, it was within the realms of plausibility that he had freed another weapon. However, there was one thing that led X to make his final conclusion on the location of the subject in question. The tracking device also served as a microphone, and, as the records would reveal, it had picked up on the phrase 'Makoto' being uttered. The only reason the two hadn't made a strike on the destroyed hospital after they'd heard Tam's voice was that they hadn't heard RIVER'S. If the living weapon wasn't with them, they could alert her. And that... would not be good.
"We haven't SEEN the teenager, no... but we've heard him. Not long ago, a tracking device we inserted into one of the rogues on Tam's team picked up the doctor using the subject's name. We have not yet prepped a strike, as our subject doesn't seem to be with them."

Yoshi had gripped the dagger tighter as the Alliance mentioned they'd heard of Makoto. He was still as dexterous as ever with it, but there was an unkind look. It was gone in half a second, and he glanced at Yi-Min as if asking for a response. She said nothing for a few moments to anyone, carefully placing the image of Makoto in her pocket.
"Do you know their location, then? This little expedition has cost those I represent more resources than we care to spare. I would like to pick up the battery and be rid of this world as soon as possible," she looked up and straight into the eyes of the closest "Man in Blue". It was not aggressive, but very confident. She raised the hand closest to the counter and raised one finger, flicking it down in a quick motion. The men would see Yoshi tense up as if preparing for something, "I do, however, have to wonder why you do not seek out this man yourself. What makes 'the doctor' and his team so dangerous?"

"Doctor Tam and his team, alone, were strong enough to hold our dimension's strongest warriors at bay. They're called 'the reavers', the warriors. They could rip an army of men to shreds in seconds on a bad day. When faced with Reavers, the general response is to either scream and run like hell or be raped to death and have your skin woven into their clothing. I have personally watched a single ship of Reavers kill everyone on an entire planet. But Doctor Tam and his group of mercenaries managed to keep them at bay. While that was an amazing feat by itself, it was subject River Tam that sent a chill down our spines. They were trapped, trapped behind an army of Reavers. And it... killed every last one of them, single-handedly. Really, the moment our subject was attacked was the moment they lost." Said agent responded, taking note of how RUDE Yoshi was being.
He pulled forth a small, rectangular device, sitting it down on the counter near Yi-Min.
"Follow the trail presented. It should take you to a destroyed hospital. This is the last spot we detected Malcolm Reynolds. You should find your prisoner."

Yi-Min broke her contact only to look at the device. It looked inconspicuous enough. Plain black, a circular area in the center which looked to be covered by some sort of cap. The men before her were not unfamiliar with the concept of other dimensions. She reached into the pocket on the opposite side of her gun. She pulled out a pair of brown leather gloves and quickly pulled them on. It was only then that she picked up the device. She had yet to return eye contact to the two men, but Yoshi was more than covering it. She opened the cap and a screen with a pale blip on it was revealed. She moved it to the side and the blip moved. The device seemed to function as a high tech compass of sorts.
----------
The barkeeper had managed to get away by this point. He was in the kitchen. He'd gotten some odd looks from the staff, but he'd glared them away well enough. He was considering going out to see if those four frightening people were still out there when he heard a crashing noise followed by the sound of breaking glass in the storage area. His eyes widened and he jerked his head to the side. He wasn't going in there, not if someone paid him a million dollars.
----------
The landing had actually gone extremely well for one River Tam. The crashing had not come as a result of the landing. The crashing had come as a result of a kneejerk spin kick that took out an entire shelf and sent things crashing to the ground. It was actually a good thing at this point that the teenage girl wore heavy duty boots, because even then a few shards of glass were stuck in them. She was know looking around like a trapped animal for some way of escape that wasn't through the obvious door.
"Two by two...." she muttered to herself, her eyes filled with panic as she weaved her way towards a place a bit further back in the large storage area, "...hands in blue...."
It was probably a good decision by the bar keep to not check on the noise. River wasn't exactly stable at the moment. In fact, she was less stable than she'd been in a while. So close. So very close...
----------
It was around the time of the crash that Yoshi had jerked as if someone had snuck up behind him and gone "boo!". A look of pure hatred spread on his face as he completely dropped his guard and yanked something out in that agile way that made him look like he was summoning things from thin air. Yi-Min had gotten to her feet as soon as he twitched. Yoshi scowled deeper and held up a small device towards the Chinese woman. It was silver colored and had a small pitch black screen. A blue lifeline like strip was on it, except it was extremely jagged. Yi-Min looked at the device in her hand again and looked up at Yoshi.
"That is quite unusually active..."
"It has to be powerful," Yoshi spoke for the first time. The grip on his dagger was tight, "Quite possibly the LoA."
Yi-Min had an expression similar to what the men before her would have seen on the woman named Zoe, "I must apologize for my rudeness, I would have at least liked to exchange contact information. However, it would seem we have a situation at hand. If you will excuse us..."
The woman gave a quick bow. It was meant as a parting between businessmen, and due to the 'Verse's own genetic makeup, it was unlikely the two men would misunderstand the oriental gesture. Yoshi put his hand on the counter of the bar and quite literally vaulted over the sucker. In that time he managed to put the device he'd pulled out back wherever he kept all his stuff and pull out a second dagger so he was dual-wielding the weapons. Yi-Min had pulled out her gun by the time she'd gotten behind the counter...

During all of these events, a look yet to be seen one either of the men in blue crossed agent X's face. A look of pure surprise, one mirrored in Y. And then that surprise turned to a smirk, which slowly evolved into a grin. What followed was a chuckle. A chuckle that would, quite possibly, make Zero Nada shudder. It didn't matter how he knew, but he... he knew. It had to be her. If the machine was still as... well, unfinished, as it had been when the twins had last seen it, and with the time of entry... yes. This had to be the spot the girl known as subject River Tam had been deposited. Yes...
"If my suspicions are correct, you may be able to offer us assistance. In the capture of subject Tam, at that." Agent Y stated, pulling up the sleeve of his suit. Above his bright blue glove of awesome was a watch. He pressed a button, and the two brothers, having no time for the formality of doing physical work, walked through the counter. Think Danny Phantom style intangibility.
The agents pulled back the jackets of their suits, almost in unison. They were each armed. Agent X with a short rod, Agent Y with what seemed to be a gun of some type. Wouldn't fire bullets, that was for sure. But it seemed made to fire SOMETHING.
On Agent Y's belt there was a small circular device, quite different from either of the ones used on Mal and company. What was it, you might ask? Holographic projector.
"Be advised, subject is extremely dangerous." Agent X stated. A vast understatement.

Yi-Min had stopped as the men spoke again, implying that what Yoshi's sensor had picked up on was River. Yoshi, despite already being in the kitchen, had stopped. He gritted his teeth together and stepped back out. Yi-Min had given an unkind look towards the men as they walked through the counter. She had suspected high levels of technology, but that was the clencher. That kind of power could only be accessed in a Psycho-Slave in her world, and it took a hell of a lot of energy. The moment of distraction meant she didn't catch Yoshi open his mouth until he had begun talking. He began talking right over the top of X's warning.
"You mean to tell me your target is a fucking psychic and you didn't think that was worth mentioning!?" he snarled.
"Kiyoshi, stand down!" Yi-Min growled as a master might to a disobedient dog.
It might have been a bit of a surprise, but he did as told without a moment's hesitation. He didn't even glare at the order, although he did look at X and Y and gave them a flat and downright pissed stare. He loosened the deathgrip on his daggers. Yi-Min only stopped looking at him after she was sure he had calmed down. She looked at the two men.
"I apologize for his behavior, but he has a point. If this weapon of yours is really what is back there, I fail to see how she could be anything but a psychic. Is that the case?"
----------
In a span of five seconds, River had gotten more agitated. She picked her way past the various boxes and crates. It had occurred to her within seconds of arrival that the place was rather crowded for a simple food storage area. And then she'd realized it was cold. She was not in a basement, she could quickly tell that even if most could not. With a few anxious glances she'd realized the air was far too fresh for a storage area as well. There was a way outside nearby.
She just had to find it before they found her...

"Our subject needed to be able to make split decisions in the heat of battle. She needed to be able to take down the 'verse's strongest warriors. She needed to do ANYTHING we required of her, and there was only one way to do that. The sole reason she was chosen for this project wasn't because of how intelligent she was. But rather, we feel she was so intelligent BECAUSE she's a psychic. So, no, we didn't, in fact, feel it was important. After all, you seemed rather gung ho a moment ago. But from the sounds of 'Psycho-Slave Battery', isn't your prisoner also rather... special?" X asked, managing, somehow, to avoid a sneer. It deserves mentioning that his tone wasn't exactly smug. But it was more... flat. Direct. To the point.
They were running out of time, and they recognized it. They'd honestly wanted to AVOID using it so... soon. But it wasn't like they couldn't make another, right? With that, Y grabbed the spherical device from his waist, pressing the only button that there WAS on it. He tossed it forward, and as it landed and began to roll towards the storage room from the kitchen, a certain commercial began to play.
"You might want to duck."

(OOC: Japanese in red, Chinese in Blue.)
Yoshi snarled at the points X made, "Anyone that gives a damn psychic that kind of fucking power deser-"
Yi-Min jerked her head towards Yoshi with a very flat glare, and made a point of speaking in Japanese and Chinese, "Now is not the time or place! Stand down!"
This time Yoshi did balk a bit, but he averted his glare quickly. He didn't care how dangerous those two men claimed the girl to be. She was psychic, she had been handed some sort of power, and she was of no importance to the Global Alliance. Long story short, she was dead. Yi-Min's eyes widened as she read Yoshi's subtle body language. She took a step towards him with an angry expression and was about to yell something at him when what sounded like a commercial jingle rolled past her.
Fruity Oaty Bar...? What in the name of all that was sacred...? She paused what she was doing and looked back at the two men with a look of pure incredulity when she heard a crash. She whirled around and shot forward when she saw Yoshi going into the storage area. He'd kicked down the door, proving that doors were safe in no plot this poster exists in. In the door's defense, the hinges had been loose. Yi-Min looked rather pissed. Breaking protocol was one thing, but she was going to kill Yoshi later.
----------
The device had rolled into the room seconds before the door had hit the ground. As a result, River had seemed to almost freeze in place before the door was knocked down. Part of her mind was telling her to run, run away fast, get out of here now, but there was only so much one could do against preprogramming. Combined with the unfiltered panic she was feeling, she found herself turning towards the song, her eyes losing a bit of focus just as someone came into her view.
The man barely had time to set up a block before he had a foot to his face. It was his own agility that probably prevented a crushed neck. A bit of glass crunched under his foot as he crouched down and tried to get around to the back of the girl. She might have been a psychic, but he'd had training to blank his mind out in a fight. Fight by instinct, not by thought. So the fact that she was turning before he'd planted his feet was a mild surprise. He pulled an impressive back lean to avoid her fist, but the angle meant he was easy enough to knock onto his back.
River, or River's body in any case, brought her foot down. The angle meant she was probably aiming to smash his face in. Yi-Min showed up in time to see Yoshi barely roll out of the way. He twisted around on the ground and brought a dagger towards the girl's ankle. She seemed to fricken backwards petit jeté of all things. However, the most impressive part wasn't using a ballet move in a fight. It was the fact that Yoshi managed to hit her. It was a small cut, barely more than a scratch, but Yoshi had managed to hit River in weapon mode.
Yi-Min had pulled out her laser gun. Target of those men or not, she wasn't going to leave her partner defenseless. Besides, she was the one that was going to kill him. Later, for his stupidity now. River whirled around as soon as her back foot hit the ground and she brought a straight hand down on Yi-Min's shoulder. The woman hissed and dropped the gun to the floor, which was quickly kicked away towards the door and would probably skitter past the two men. Yoshi had gotten back on his feet at this point, although he was bleeding from both upper arms due to glass shards. Considering who/what he was dealing with, the man was doing rather well.... for now....

"She has improved quite nicely, I see. Her agility is quite impressive. Though the brash one managed to land a blow on her, something we'll have to look into later. If my reports are correct, she wasn't COMPLETELY unharmed after defeating the Reavers?" Agent X questioned.
"Right, and then during the event in the bar she stopped her attack out of nowhere. I suspect it was an act by the doctor, or maybe Reynolds. Regardless, the weapon is still flawed... we will have to look into her brain. I suspect that her amygdala wasn't enough. She still seems to be consciously fighting our control. And what good is a weapon that misfires and cannot be aimed?" Agent Y asked in response.
"Part of me doesn't want to aid our new friends after the rudeness fired in our general direction." X pondered, rubbing his chin.

If looks could kill, the Hands of Blue wouldn't have a target anymore. Realistically, considering the crowding of the area and two targets, there should have been a little difficulty for the weapon. Then again, Yi-Min's area of skill was not in close combat, and River was anything but realistic in this mode. A whole army of Reavers, after all. In any case, she brought around a leg and swept Yi-Min's feet out from under her while reaching up and managing to stop Yoshi's attempted attack from her other side by grabbing his wrist.
Yi-Min hit the ground at what probably should have been a poor angle. She managed to twist around in time to just cause it to hurt like hell. The shards of glass littering pretty much the entire floor at this point drove themselves through some of her clothes, and a bit of blood welled up. River was turning her focus to Yoshi and he managed to catch her by surprise. Not that one could really tell given her autopilot, but it was doubtful she'd intended for a centimeter deep cut to be placed on the back of the lower arm holding Yoshi's wrist.
She bore no expression or even indication that she'd received a wound. Those observing the situation would realize something had changed with Yoshi the minute Yi-Min had hit the ground. River still maintained her grip on the man's wrist. She twisted in an entirely unnatural looking angle in regards to Yoshi. He hissed and the dagger in that hand hit the ground. She brought one foot down on his left foot and used her knee to kick him back a good five feet. His back hit another shelf, causing several of the wooden support pieces to break. A few more glass jars and other less breakable containers came down. River spun out of the way of the shrapnel. Yoshi's mostly successful dodge was quite a bit less graceful.
His wrist looked to be in mild pain from how he was holding. Considering he wasn't reacting to the shards of glass in his ruttin' arm, the show of mild pain probably indicated he was in a pretty unpleasant spot. Still, he managed to pull out another dagger, probably prompting the question of where he kept those things. By this point River had made it back to Yi-Min and had kicked her in the chest.
Yi-Min looked in a far worse spot and it appeared River was about to kill her when she stopped to catch a clumsily thrown dagger. Well, they weren't meant for throwing. She turned the dagger around while still looking at Yi-Min and threw it. The not made for throwing dagger flew a path straighter than most could manage with a dart and straight through the fleshy part of Yoshi's shoulder and into the wall behind him. The thing was long enough and thrown with enough force that he was now pinned by his shoulder. He reached up and grabbed the hilt. Man looked like he was going to rip it out himself...
"Get the fuck away from her you bitch!" he shouted at River with more emotion than seemed proper for a business partner. She didn't appear to hear him, instead refocusing on the easier target.

"If I may say so myself, that is completely unprofessional. And his LANGUAGE. A Reaver would have more personality, wouldn't you say, X?" One of the two asked, musing.
"Most likely. From what I hear around the water cooler, they ARE rather fun to have around in parties. And they use better language, too. Do you think he'll manage to get the knife out of his shoulder? If so, our subject's projectile throwing abilities will have to be worked on. She should be able to pin a grown man down with a toothpick, after all."
"Hm. A very good point. I believe now would be a suitable time to end the experiment, wouldn't you?" Y questioned, fingering his odd weapon.
"Yes, we seem to have all the data we'll need. Fire at will." X responded, stepping back.
Agent Y pulled forth his weapon, pointing it in River's direction. He fired.

The bit of distraction had allowed Yi-Min time to roll out of the way, but she didn't look in a good place. She had grabbed something on the wall when River turned back towards her. For a moment she had to wonder where those men were, but it was a short moment. It was entirely possible they were being used as some sort of experiment. She had grabbed a hold of something and was pulling herself up when she heard the crunch of glass and looked in time to have a shard of glass as long as a dagger get thrown at her and hear various chaotic sounds from where the glass had come from.
During the time up to the seconds before the shard had been thrown, Yoshi had managed to yank the dagger out of his shoulder. The blood flow as pretty severe, and part of the wall it had been in had been taken with the dagger, only coming off when Yoshi pretty much ripped the dagger out of his flesh, letting it drop to the ground. This time when he quickly grabbed another dagger it was clear he was getting it from the back of his pants, a clear indicator of slown reaction time. His eyes carried pure hatred, and perhaps traces of... worry? Panic, even?
River had moved over towards Yi-Min by this time. The blood didn't seem to be stopping from her arm, but her wiring blocked the recognition of injury or pain. Agent Y had lifted the gun and the nanosecond of brain telling finger to pull occured. In the few seconds before then and the few seconds behind, Yoshi had rushed at River. She had turned to block his attack, but somehow he managed to duck her block and drive the dagger that still had his blood on it into her stomach.
If the Hands of Blue could read body language, they'd realize in the short time that the disabling "bullet" reached its target, Yoshi had full intentions of gutting the teenage girl. Hatred, worry, and complete lack of remorse over his action and intended future one covered his face. The attack had been done at just the right instance to throw off River's aim, and instead of the glass driving into Yi-Min's throat and probably killing her, it drove into her sternum less than in inch below. She let out a garbled sound and stopped with a hand just above the glass. No, if she pulled it the bloodloss could kill her. Still looked like it hurt like hell.
It was then the bullet hit, knocking River and Yi-Min down and clean out. His hand remained around the dagger all the way down, and there it remained even after they hit.
