"Appleloosa, huh? The new frontier town out west?" said Joe. "Some of the food I sell is made from Appleloosian exports..."

He flinched visibly at Penny's outburst, but figured he had struck a nerve. "...My apologies. Anyway, yes; Appleloosa is quite the nice town... it's been expanding quite a bit as of late. I got to meet one of the heads of the town... Braeburn Apple, I believe his name was. Nice enough guy... really... energetic. We performed at the music hall that they built recently."
He leaned back a bit, sighing. "It will be nice to return home to Ponyville, though."

Penny sighed as she finished her chocolate donut. She scared the pegasus pony, she could tell. The way he flinched pretty much gave it away. Thankfully, however, he did not press the issue. He instead spoke of Appleloosa and the way it was. "Sounds like a lovely place," she said simply as she picked up a regularly glazed donut and bit into it. Her method of savoring what she bit into was quite nice and made a lot of sense. She then heard what Arpeggio said and sighed. "Isn't really the same at the moment," she replied. "Everypony's preparing more and on higher guard ever since the raid. It's not the worst, but it's a definite change from the Ponyville of old, where we could trust anypony to not do such horrible things as what those cultists did."

Pony Joe frowned, thinking of the past week. "A lot of ponies have been on edge lately," he mused. "Nopony knows what might show up next, and I keep hearing fears someone might come along that manages to get away with worse than what that cult did. I never exactly saw what they did first-hoof, but..." he shuddered thinking about it. "Well, I didn't exactly like what I heard..."

"Yeah... same here." Arpeggio's face gained a worried expression for a little bit. "...My parents... are in Cloudsdale still; I hope they're okay."
He turned back to Penny and said, "So, Penny; when are you going to meet with this person that helped fight off those cultists?"

"Everypony's mostly back to normal," Penny replied, blinking at Arpeggio's comment. Joe's comment had her thinking, but she didn't reply to it. She didn't want to. She wasn't sure what she could say to that. However, Arpeggio's comments were welcome and she smiled. "Well maybe I'll meet her later or..." The opening bell rang and she blinked, checking to see who walked in. A smirk formed on her face. "Or fate could be kind."
My new friends told me this place was worth checking out. The human looked at the unicorn behind the counter lightly. Her garbs had changed last since she settled in. She was now wearing simpler cloth garments. It basically only looked like a white top connected to a blue skirt, still looking like robes. In Azeroth, this was known as the Journeyman's Robe. It was an easy to make piece and wasn't particularly impressive, but it was something for newer magic-users to wear. She preferred it over her other sets for the moment as it looked less intimidating. On her feet, she wore sandals. She wore no other special armor pieces and her hair fell behind her black. Sitting down, she faltered, unsure of what to say, up until...
"So you were recommended to this place?" The priestess turned and noticed the writer who she had met before, after the assault from Twilight's Hammer, who said she'd like to speak with her sometime. "Come now, do not fret madam. After what you did for us, you've no reason to be shy. Order at your leisure. I'll see to it."

Pony Joe looked to the door as the human walked inside; the very human who aided a great deal in defending their land from the cult's attack. "So... You're the Emeraldi I've been hearing so much about," he said with a smile as the priestess stepped in. "From what I understand, Equestria owes you a lot, missy."

Arpeggio turned to the newcomer as well. "Ah... it's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Emeraldi." He gave a slight bow to her.
"I'm glad that you were able to defend Ponyville..."

Emeraldi looked sheepish at their praise. "I was... I was just doing my duty, really. I mean... if me and my friends didn't stop them, Light only knows what they would've done." The priestess still took the spot Penny offered her. She wasn't sure what to order though. Well the hot chocolate looked familiar; they had that in Azeroth. But the other pastries seemed rather foreign. "Might I have a hot chocolate please?"
"You'll love 'em. Sir Joe's hot chocolates are some of the best in all of Equestia. Nopony can rival it, so the rumors go." Penny chuckled lightly. "Still, duty or not, you saved us all. We're all quite grateful for the aid. You could've just left us, after all, but you didn't."
"Well I woul-I mean we... wouldn't have. It's the custom of where we live to... well... you saw."
"I did," Penny replied, sipping at her own mug of hot chocolate. "Sir Joe and Sir Arpeggio weren't there for it, but I saw. I will admit, we've not seen that kind of brutality for a long time, but I suppose it couldn't have been helped, especially with the disappearance of Princess Celestia."

With a nod, Pony Joe turned to his hot beverage pots and prepared one of his traditional hot chocolate mugs with the usual trimmings. He levitated the mug to the guest of honor, and it landed gently on the countertop in front of her. "One hot chocolate. Enjoy," he said.

"Ms. Emeraldi, I... am rather curious. I've heard stories from people what the world you came from is like... and all of them make it sound like your world is vastly different from ours. I'm curious; what do you think of our world?"
Arpeggio had been genuinely horrified by some of the rumors about Emeraldi's home world.

Emeraldi frowned at Penny's assessment of her, but the other things distracted her from that comment. First the hot chocolate. "Oh... thank you," she said and took it in her hand lightly before sipping at it. "... It is divine."
"Exactly," Penny said with a grin.
Then Arpeggio's comment further brightened her. "It is a lot better then Azeroth. Everyone here seems happy and bright... and the land is in a constant state of peace. It's what I always dreamed of, but I never thought I'd actually find it."
"Well, Madam Emeraldi, life is full of surprises." Penny took a sip of her hot chocolate.

"You can have whatever you like, miss." Pony Joe waved a hoof along the length of his display counter at the trays of pastries. "What appeals to you the most?"

Arpeggio smiled widely to Emeraldi. "The crullers are very tasty." He finished the last few bites of his and washed it down with the last few drinks of his coffee.
He turned to Joe and said, "I can see why this place is so well-liked. Thank you." He then turned back to his sheet music and started writing again, occasionally muttering to himself.

(Finally posting)
Emeraldi looked. "Wow... they all look so nice. I just don't know what to pick... hmmm, maybe the brownie..."
"Those are rather nice, especially the one with the nuts," Penny replied.
"I... I guess I can take one," Emeraldi replied.
"Do you change often, madam Emeraldi? You seem different from how you acted towards those cultists."
"Oh... well... it's hard to explain."
