Physical Description
As you can guess from the name, he’s a mirror image of Pit, except with black hair, black clothes, and dark teal wings.
Weapons
Silver Bow: A silver and blue knockoff of Palutena’s Bow. Can be used as dual blades in close combat.
Dark Pit Staff: A staff used for sniping foes at a distance with magic.
Abilities/Powers
As an angel, Pit is stronger and faster than most humans, and he has very good aim with a bow. However, like his light counterpart, he’s incapable of unaided flight, though he can use his wings to slow his descent and glide somewhat.
One interesting skill he has is the ability to literally rain arrows in a wide area with his bow.
Skills As noted, he has excellent aim with ranged weapons. He’s also skilled at hand-to-hand combat.
Personality He’s cocky and a bit competitive, along with having a strong sense of independence. While he isn’t evil, he isn’t as nice as Pit and can be rather blunt.
History
SPOILERS! Highlight to read, if you dare:
Dark Pit was created when Pit attempted to destroy the Mirror of Truth, which replicates anything reflecting in it. While Pandora (the goddess who owned the mirror) intended to have him eliminate Pit, she didn’t count on him turning on her almost the instant he was born. After Pandora was slain, he stole her remaining powers for himself (allowing him unlimited flight) and fought with Pit, showing that he was rather insecure with his identity (he claimed that Pit was ‘ripping off his look’). Though he was defeated by Pit, he fled afterwards.
He would later encounter Pit again in the Underworld during the latter’s siege on Medusa’s castle and chose to assist him (probably because he saw Medusa as a larger threat). He dealt with the forces outside the castle as Pit made his way inside to deal with Medusa.
Later on, the two met again when Pit infiltrated Arlon the Serene’s Lunar Sanctum. Arlon had asked for Dark Pit’s assistance, knowing that DP would jump at the chance to fight his doppelganger. He once again lost and fled.
When Pit was transformed into a ring, Dark Pit, in his own words, became ‘less than myself’. It’s likely he entered some sort of coma. This experience made him realize that he and Pit were connected—if Pit dies, so does Dark Pit. This led to him teaming up with the former to defeat the Chaos Kin.
When the Chaos Kin was defeated, it attempted to take Dark Pit with him, leading to Pit sacrificing his wings to save him. Dark Pit chose to repay the favor by taking him to the Rewind Spring to revive him (though this led to him losing the powers he took from Pandora in the process—long story). Later on, he saved Pit from Hades’ stomach with the Lighting Chariot.
After Hades’ defeat, he was seen flying with Pit into the sunset.
Other
1. He used to loathe being called Pittoo, a nickname given to him by Palutena. Nowadays, though, he’s come to deal with it, though this doesn’t mean he particularly likes it.
2. He’s unaffiliated with anyone, though he will make alliances if it suits his interest.
3. While he is unable to fly, it is possible for him to gain the power of flight on the island with certain shenanigans.
4. Unlike Pit, he has no problems with eggplants. Matter of fact, he loves them.
5. Don’t touch his wings. Ever. You WILL regret it.
