"I am the Siren of Blood. And keeper of your worse nightmare," Beth answered. "This island is my home, and I am not afraid to fight." If it was possible she would have been glaring daggers at this new threat.
A loud roar erupted behind them. The other being stepping out into the pale light. A jet black dragon like creature with what looked rotting cloth wings looked to Melancholic and shorted inky black smoke.

Melancholic regarded this newcomer with skepticism at first, then a small smirk. "How interesting... Whatever has plagued this island certainly has surprises around every corner."
He held out his hand, the shadows in his palm expanding into a black rapier. "I would highly suggest that you worms leave this place. Lady Desire has requested that these grounds remain untouched, and should you try anything consequential, I won't hesitate to kill you."
"Uh... Uh..." Patrick looked back and forth between Melancholic and the dragon creature. He obviously had no idea whether he should fight or heed this advice. Unfortunately, his inner voices had something to say about this.
Oh, come on, Pat! Ray snapped. Don't p***y out on us now! Let me take over! I'll teach these clowns a lesson!
Ray, be reasonable! Van retorted. If their queen has something planned here, it could only be a matter of time before the other generals arrive. It'd be best not to incur their wrath, especially considering this curse!
You think I give two s***s about what those scum suckers think?! This guy is just asking for me to kick his butt!
Your lust for violence isn't going to help us evade disaster! For once, would you just THINK before you act?!
Think?! HelLO?! Do you think I can do much BESIDES think?!
Patrick grabbed his head and moaned in distress.

Beth looked around the General. "Seems the welcoming party showed up," she commented pointing to some mutated Zombies.
The dragon beast roared again before going after the zombies with a shadowy tendril of a whip.

Melancholic did not look fazed. "A marvel, is it not? And it's only a matter of time before you all join them." He held his rapier up horizontally. "Of course, if you don't leave now, I'd be willing to speed up that process."
"OH NO YOU DON'T!"
Bursts of red magical energy were violently swirling around Patrick... or, at least, what used to be Patrick. His green eyes were darker, his voice was gruffer, and his face was beyond hostile. A red circle rotated beneath his feet and a harsh wind blew across the graveyard.
"Think we're all just dead meat, huh?" Ray growled. "Well let me tell ya, even the dead can surprise you now and then."
He turned around and fired a blast of red energy at the zombies. When it touched them, their soulless eyes briefly flashed the same color red, and just like that, they were under Ray's control.

Beth sighed. "You never said anything about necromancy," she called. "Think you can provide cover for me for a bit?" she added.
The dragon being glared at the necromancer. "You took my target away," it, well she, warned. Tail thrashing behind her before sending the shadows towards the Praen'tos. "Now taste my wraith!"

Melancholic, being able to control shadows himself, merely swept the attack away. "You weak-minded fool. Darkness does not defeat darkness."
"And monologues don't do you any favors either!" Ray responded as he cast another spell. This one imbued the zombies with enough life force to heal their bodies ever so slightly; this way they were still undead, but had enough strength to run. And now that they did, Ray ordered them to strike Melancholic and the dragon creature.
He turned to the latter and mockingly said, "Oh, did I? I'm sorry... sorry that I don't give a f***."

The dragon smirked. "I have other elements I can use," she replied flying up and starting to breath ice towards the demon.
Beth just stayed out of the way. "Looks like this is my original life all over again...." she whispered. "Life as a useless bystander. It never changes." A song clicked in her mind before she took a breath. With brush in hand she started to sing again.

To protect himself, Melancholic raised a barrier made out of the earth beneath them. When the ice struck it, the rock wall crumbled, revealing that the demon had disappeared.
"Pfft... Coward," Ray mumbled, paying no mind to what his zombie minions were doing.
Um... Ray? Patrick spoke up. They're getting close to Beth.
"So what?"
So what?! Whadya mean "So what?!" She's helping us, Ray!
"I don't need any help." Ray suddenly smiled a devious, mischievous smile, his forest green eyes turning the same shade of red as his magical energy. "I've got all the help I need."
Oh no... Van, already seeing where this was going, immediately tried to seize control over their body from Ray, and the body of Patrick Rooke screamed and convulsed from the internal struggle.

Beth seemed to be having no issues with the incoming horde as she slashed through them with her brush's paint. "Thanks for the lousy cover!" she shouted at Patrick's body. "You're only acting weak by not accepting help from your teammate! Especially when said teammate is a siren and has a short temper!"
The dragon smirked. "You're a one trick. I'm not," she retorted to the action before sending an avalanche of rock and water at Melancholic. A small darkened flame escaped her lips.

Patrick regained control of his body long enough to shout, "I'm really sorry! It's not my- GAH!" Then he doubled over, writhing in mental anguish as Van and Ray continued their battle.
Melancholic took the brute force of the attack, receiving damage that would've knocked a normal person out. But he was anything but normal, and his near-indestructible body didn't seem to take so much as a scratch. "One trick? You'd like to believe that, wouldn't you?"
He once again flattened himself, slithered across the ground, and reformed behind the dragon creature. "Truth be told, I have no quarrel with any of you. I'm only here to guard this cemetery, and it would be greatly appreciated if you all left immediately."
"I...!" Ray managed to seize control, though he was visibly struggling to keep it that way. "I don't take orders from no one, especially some shadow-humping piece of s*** like you!!"

"You only use two elements where as I use five soon to be six," the being noted.
Beth rolled her eyes. "Okay Angry one decease and desist. Let Van or Patrick have control. I'm only going to ask once. Switch the hell back now," she warned as a few small healed over cuts opened.

"In the right hands, even the simplest of powers can amount to numerous strategies," Melancholic replied. "Now I'm not going to ask you again... Leave this place if you value your worthless lives."
Ray let out a quiet, almost insane chuckle at both Beth and Melancholic's order. "Yeah, see, that's not gonna work out for anyone..."
He looked up, green eyes turning red again. "We're in the middle of a crisis, one that's turning this whole island upside-down. Every day is will be a fight for survival, and I can't have Van's petty morals or Patrick's utter stupidity risking our shared survival. This is a WAR, and if anyone's gonna get us through it, it's gonna be the one who will fight back!"
With a simple hand motion, Ray ordered his zombie horde to surround Melancholic and the dragon girl.
"It's called 'survival of the fittest' for a reason."

"And you don't think I know that! Rushing head long with out a plan is the worse course of action! I know that route all to well!" she replied back still slightly mad. A few rogue droplets of blood hung in the air around her.
"Hey! I'm on your side of this you crazed moron!" the dragon being shouted at Ray before letting loose an odd bright light attack. She blinked once or twice.

"Hate to break it to you, missy, but I'm on no one's side," Ray said.
Without batting an eye, Melancholic spun in a quick circle, his rapier slicing off the heads of every nearby zombie. "Your accomplice makes an excellent point. Rushing into battle without a plan of action makes for an often sought and easy to defeat target. To quote Sun Tzu, the supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting."
"And to quote Wikus from District 9... F*** YOU!"
Van, having had just about enough of this, quickly resumed his battle for dominance. Their body screamed and convulsed again, and when it stopped, Van had succeeded with great effort. "Ray, I'm not about to let your foolishness propel us even further into this crisis!" He held his hand up, palm igniting with bright green light.
Wait, no, no, NO!
The zombies suddenly exploded with the same green light, their bodies disintegrating into dust.

Beth and the dragon being gulped. Neither one expected that.
