Toby sighed, more than understanding her dislike for Ray. He wasn't particularly easy to for anyone to like. He perked back up when Chrys mentioned her relation to Beth.
"Oh... Wow! That's, uh... There's a reality check for ya."

Chrys nodded. "Yeah. And she was kinda classy in the way she did it to," she offered.

"Well, that's good."
Toby looked over his shoulder as he and Chrys reached the edge of the cemetery. As he put it and the feeling of needing to be there behind him, he started feeling... scared. As if simultaneously fearing what would happen if he did or didn't stay. He also suddenly felt nervous about getting dinner with this girl.

Chrys offered a small reassuring smile. "We can come back here after a while if you want," she offered.

"I... don't know if I want to, actually," Toby murmured. "It... actually might be better if I don't."
He looked back at Chrys and halfheartedly tried to smile again. "Um... So, yeah. Food. Let's do it."

Chrys nodded. "Okay. Follow me," she offered.

With a calm smile, Toby followed Chrys out of the cemetery, refusing to look back anymore. Whatever had brought him here was the least of his worries. A golden opportunity to feel normal had been offered to him, and he wasn't going to let it pass him by. He was going to enjoy himself for however long he could.
Unseen by the pair, a redheaded teenage girl was watching them from the shadows. She had to giggle to herself. It looked like Toby was already starting to catch on, one of many signs that everything was not only going according to plan, but it was going to be so much fun. She then vanished into the darkness, off to prepare for the next step.
It was high time for a reunion.
