Chrys chuckled as she took a ball and rolled it up the ramp with a bit of force. It landed in the 10 point ring much to her own dismay. "Well this will be fun," she offered. I hope... she added mentally.

Toby shrugged as he reared up to try again. This time, when he rolled the ball, it bounced off the 30 point slot and into the 20 point one, prompting a little smile of encouragement out of him. The third one made it into the 30 point slot. He kept at it, landing another 30, a misfired 10, a 40 and another 20. Eventually he shot for a 50, and to his pleasant surprise, he hit it on his first try. Seemed he still had the skills.

Meanwhile Chrys was consistently hitting the 10 slot for 4 more throws. She pouted before finally landed one ball in the 30 slot. Toby was still a head of her score by a long shot.

Once he had gotten into the groove of it, Toby was sinking 40 and 50 pointers one after another, and he was clearly enjoying himself in the process. He soon decided to be daring and shoot for one of the 100 point slots in the corners. His first one missed, but his second one landed in the left corner slot dead center, as did his third attempt and the final ball the machine offered him before his time was up.
"Heh... Wow. Didn't know I still had it in me."

Chrys frowned as she kept rolling up the balls. Another 10, a pair of 20s, a lone 50 that was soon followed by another 10,and a final pair of 30s.
"Note to self.... never bet against you in skee ball," she muttered out loud as tickets were dispensed. "Looks like I owe you a treat later."

Toby looked down as tickets started printing out of his lane's slot. Then he looked up at Chrys, instantly worrying that he had outshone her. As he watched her play, he rubbed his neck and instinctively murmured, "Sorry."

"You won fair and square," she offered. "It's fine."

With another shrug, Toby scooped up his pile of tickets and asked, "Well, what's next?" He turned around to find another game to play, and almost immediately, his eyes landed on one in particular.
His mouth hung open slightly. It felt like it had been forever since he had seen one of these...
"Hey, Pac-Man!" Toby ran up to the unoccupied machine, smiling and barely containing his excitement. "Man, I used to be a BOSS at this game!"

"Go for it!" Chrys cheered happily. "And Galaga is right next to it. I was decent at it."

"Heh... Yeah! Let's see what I can do!" Toby laughed as he deposited his quarters. He took hold of the controls and smiled with determination as that old familiar theme song chimed in. And soon enough, Toby was guiding Pac-Man through the maze.

Chrys smiled and chuckled before starting up the Galaga machine. It soon whirled to life. Chrys was soon shooting down alien ships with a familiar pew-pew noise.

Much to his joy, Toby quickly proved to still have the proficiency at Pac-Man that he once had. He cleared the first and second levels with ease and not a single death, and during level three he managed to rack up some extra points by luring the ghosts into a corner, snatching a power pellet and eating every single one of them. And he was having the time of his life doing it.
During the brief pause as level four loaded, Toby looked over at Galaga's screen to see how Chrys was faring.

Chrys was doing well as she kept dealing with wave after wave of invaders. The girl was sticking out her tongue as she kept going.

"That man is playing Galaga," Toby quoted simply for the amusement. "Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did."
Turning his attention back on Pac-Man, he resumed navigating the maze of pellets and out-maneuvering the monsters. Partway through, he became somewhat aware that a newcomer was standing right behind him, but was too focused on the game to give it much thought. They were probably just watching him play.

"So? It's easier than soloing Gauntlet," Chrys teased in reply.
