Even when the snow melted rapidly into a blistering desert, Garnet kept going. Even if Aquamarine would try to rest, she'd keep going - maybe with a dull hum of acknowledgement. It's been at least a day, and still, on she bloody trots. Not a word. Just walking.
But there seems to be something looming in the distance...

....... Well....
BURNING her gem off was at least a SLIGHT improvement over FREEZING it off...
Still as Aqua followed after Garnet it was still with a great amount of trepidation, and for two very particular reasons. Firstly, their history. Which of course was a big fat no duh. The last time she had seen Garnet, Aquamarine had been minutes away from making a very practical decision in terms of avoiding harm and avoiding her own destruction.... It was only just too bad that this plan had to come at the cost of appearing as quite the bitch to those that could have potentially been left. Like Garnet. Even if they had put the topic aside for now, possibly to be saved for MUCH later on- HOPEFULLY to be saved for MUCH later on still, she could still feel a very definite chill in the air, a tension so thick she could cut it with an battle axe.
Even worse then that however had been... Well...
From what Aquamarine knew of Earth, everything had been separated in very far separated areas. The cold places were far north or south with deserts or warm places being closer to the center. She had traveled on a boat before now. In fact, she was quite familiar with it. Quite used to it. A lot of the world was separated by water so as such, climates had large areas where they could separate and blur into one another... NOT THIS PLACE THOUGH.
She could still remember when the snow stopped and the sand began. It was like the two areas were separated by a transparent and accessible wall. On one side, freezing cold, on the other blistering hot.
Needless to say, this did not particularly strike Aquamarine as 'normal' by Earth standards.
"Heeeeey!! Garnet!" Still... "I know we're not EXACTLY talkin' to each other right now and your tryin' ta focus or whatever... But we've been walkin' for a day and... Well yeah!" She grumbles. "Can you at least tell me where we're GOING?"

She stops. No turning. No movement. She's just completely still, shadow long and harsh against the wind blown sands. The silence hangs, dangling by a fragile thread.
"...
"No."
And she keeps walking.

...............
YEAAAAAAH, probably should have expected that.... She hadn't responded to much of anything over the past day... Well... At least the thing in the distance was starting to come into focus... It looked like a human city....
..... A human city in the middle of a Desert? A desert literally RIGHT NEXT to a winter tundra? ....... She was probably wasting her breath asking but... "Then....... What do you make of this place? First there's that really weird cripe with the boundary of the snow and sand... And now a city right within walking distance..." There was no way this place was Iran, Cairo or any of the other near desert cities she had visited. It was too big. "I wonder where on Earth we ARE... If we're even still ON Earth at this point." It seemed incredibly unlikely... "And if we're not... Where we are EXACTLY...."

"We're not on Earth." She says this calmly and a bit sternly, without missing a beat. "Obviously. This place is called Nexus Island. That's all I know for now.
"We're here to meet someone else. Then we have another place to be, and little time to get there."

That someone else... was currently neck-deep in discarded pieces of machinery.
"Gah. Okay. Where the hell am I and what is going on?" The first rule of being in unfamiliar territory was to get to high ground and look around for signs of life. ...Needless to say, that was not going well. This place seemed abandoned. And the nearest piece of civilization was a ways off.
"...I can't be on Earth anymore. Where is this?" Bloodstone was kind of annoyed; she sat down on a junky car, closing her eyes a moment to think things through.

Aquamarine looked to Garnet curiously, arms crossed. "Meeting someone huh? Okay, I'm officially curious. Though I'll say this much, I didn't think you'd know someone on this... Island ya said?" The gem stuck out her tongue as they drew closer to the Industrial Park. "Someone's definitely been a busy bee... Or is it a Future Vision thing?" Regardless of whether or not Garnet answered, Aquamarine shrugged her stocky shoulders and started taking the lead slightly. "Well, whatever the case, CIVILIZATION! Once we get some directions, I'm sure we can get a better feel for where we are-."
She notes the look. "... OKAY FINE, I'LL Get a better feel for where we are." ...... The gem couldn't help but chuckle a bit.
That actually felt a bit familiar if she had to be honest. Bringing back memories of the rebellion and all of the times that the seemingly all knowing Garnet would keep everyone in place.
"Come on love-bird~. Future Vision is all well and good but sometimes the rest of us want in on the know too."
Love-Bird...
Back then, it had been a silly little nickname that Marine gave Garnet to tease her. There was no malicious intent in it like there had been for so many gems before her, just playful recognition and all due respect. The Term eventually even became it's own popular terminology to the humans, in regards to a couple.
Now though....

Garnet stops. She's silent for... a solid while. When she keeps walking, it's more slowly, and more deliberately. "You'll find out. Just be patient."
Sure enough, within a minute, the specific car bearing a specific gem will come into view - as will, from that gem's view, Garnet.

Of course Bloodstone noticed the large Gem coming into view. How could she not?
"...Oh, no way. I guess my luck hasn't run out on me yet... Garnet?!"
Standing up, Bloodstone waved to the fusion.
Admittedly, their last parting hadn't been the most amicable, but she had at least tried to properly explain why she was leaving after Aquamarine. She'd been looking out for her friend's well-being, after all.

"I see you, Bloodstone!" She raises her voice just enough to carry across the industrial junkyard. Her step hastens just a bit, but she certainly doesn't break into a run. No emoting whatsoever... not quite yet.
She's within a few yards of Bloodstone in about a minute, with or without Aquamarine.

....... Aquamarine stopped in her steps briefly when she saw the gem they were quickly closing in on. While it had been true that Aquamarine had been without the rebellion, without a massive number of gems to call companions. That didn't necessarily mean she had been alone.
She had a lot to be thankful to Bloodstone for; because in the end, having one friend was all she could've ever asked for.
"!!!!!! B-Bloodstone!!!"
Aquamarine found her strength once again, decreased her density and zipped past the fusion with all due haste. Her destination? Her and Bloodstone on the ground, the latter gem all but tackled on the ground.
"I'VE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR YOU WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU YA ANNOYIN' BLADE LICKER-?!?" She said all of this through tears, holding Bloodstone. It was actually kind of comical seeing the tall and somewhat burly gem on top of the slightly taller, but definitely skinnier Bloodstone.
She had good reason to be this way however, she'd been separated from Bloodstone for at least a few years. "I must've turned China upside DOWN looking for you after we lost sight of each other!"
She remembered it well, there had been a gem monster, an earthquake, several walls collapsing... In the end, Aqua had to bubble the gem but had completely lost sight of Bloodstone.

"Aquamarine?! Where have you- OOF!" Bloodstone had not been expecting the tackle, though in hindsight she really should have.
"Guh, I could ask you the same thing, Aqua. Cripes, you just vanished and I couldn't find you. I went all over lookin' for you, but no dice. You got no idea how glad I am to see you again." Bloodstone knew Aquamarine was more than capable of handling herself but that didn't mean that she didn't worry about her friend.

Aquamarine smiled widely as she basically pulled Bloodstone into a bearhug, standing up and pulling her partner gem onto her feet along with her. "Hehehehe~!" It seemed likely that Aquamarine was squeezing like a boa constrictor at that time with Bloodstone puffing uncomfortably. A second after, Aqua put the gem down, smile still apparent. "I'm glad to see you too Bloodstone~. You have NO idea..." She took a second to regulate her breathing. "For a second there... I thought I was all by myself again..... That feeling sucked...."
Ah yes..... Aquamarine had shown previous discomfort at the idea of being completely isolated...

While this is happening, Garnet stands by, hands on her hips. It's not without effort that she restrains a sympathetic smile as she watches the tender reunion, though it's impossible as ever to get a read on her. Only Steven gets to see her emoting on a regular basis.
Steven... her little boy, all grown up, back home, wondering where she is...
She straightens her visor, hand promptly returning to the robust curve of her pelvis. Her thoughts stop dead in their tracks, and don't pick up. Still no emoting.

She knew the lack of emoting was typical Garnet, really. Bloodstone grunted as Aquamarine lifted her up in the bearhug, chuckling before returning it. "I bet it did. I was lookin' all over the damn place for you, y'know that? Tell ya what, though; I didn't expect to wind up in some weird place like this. Still, if you're here, it can't be all bad."
