"Yeah... Me and Dry know a few trades, but repairing stuff ain't one of them," Richtor admitted. Knuckles gave a quick nod- that made some sense.
"Not everyone can do everything. You'd need some manner of help to get some jobs done," he offered, taking the lead. "That's just how life works."

"Precisely Knuckles," Dryade offered.
Dzaneb tilted his head. "Miss.... forgive me for asking but did you used to sing a lot?"
Dry froze. "Before the Contagion robbed me of my proper voice, yes," was her only answer as they walked out of the mine.

Victor cleared his throat, aware this was a testy subject. "I...wouldn't have guessed," Knuckles admitted.

"Not many would given how different I look and sound from when I did back then," she offered. "It was my career and nothing more."
"What do you do now?" Dzaneb asked.
"Help fight to keep the Dominion off Nexus and help the Exiles screw up their plans," Dryade answered calmly.

"Makes me question how candy cane horns knew about it," Richtor questioned. "I wouldn't think Dry would be very well known off her home planet."
"Could have been a lucky guess," Knuckles offered, heading uphill ahead of the others.

"Despite the slightly ragged exterior and odd components... She carries herself like that of a songstress and one that was very highly valued," Dzaneb offered kindly.
Dryade sighed. "Richtor.... Do you ever remember me telling you exactly why I hated the Dominion?" she offered in reply.

"They're the ones that ruined your planet and caused every member of your kind to become, well, undead beings," he replied. If Knuckles were there to hear it, he probably would have dropped his jaw. "I don't remember exactly how..."

Dryade faced palmed. "No. Not even close.... Grismara was poised to join the Dominion. They had been trade partners for centuries and then offered us a place in their court... It was a wonderful time period where my people learned and developed even higher tech," Dryade offered. "During the tenth year of occupation, one Victor Lazarin created a serum called the Everlife Elixir.... Well you see the results of said elixir..."
Dzaneb blinked before digging in his satchel. "Her music still reaches rather far," he offered pulling out a holo disk.

"Oh yeah... then the dominion labled you guys as a lost cause and took off, forcing you to look for new allies," Richtor recalled. "Those bastards just suck. Horrendously."

Dryade nodded. "I personally want to stab their emperor in the throat," she offered in an eerily calm tone.
Dzaneb blinked as they walked. "Is she always like this?" He asked to the other two males in the group.

Richtor scrunched his face in consideration. "...only when she's extremely p*ssed off," he offered. "Though, she's not the kindest person anyway if you don't know her first."
A loud thunk came from uphill. "Hey guys! I uh... got the entrance open," he offered.

"Thank you Knuckles," Dryade offered as Dzaneb darted up the way. "There are some days I wish I wasn't this thing I've become. Maybe I'd be more useful."
Dzaneb came to stand by Knuckles. "Thank you," he offered.

"Don't say that, Dry. You're plenty useful as you are right now," Richtor reminded her. "Sure, maybe you shouldn't be a raging force on the battlefield, but you're still as awesome as they come."
"Just doing what I can," Knuckles smiled, tipping a non-existent hat to the troll. "Let's get out of here soon, alright guys?"
"I had no plans of staying," Richtor smiled, popping his shoulder a bit as he went up the slope.

Dryade took a breath. "Thank you Richtor," she offered as they started to climb out.
Dzaneb nodded and followed them out. He was fully prepared to hiss at the bright sunlight but he found himself just blinking.

Knuckles shielded his eyes for a moment, giving a quick sigh. "Sunlight, always a pain when you've been underground for too long."
"I'll say. Especially when your eyes adjust to the darkness," Richtor added.
