Chrys stretched as they walked into the food court. It had been only a few hours since her powers had been traded to Toby and his to her.
Over the course of the walk, she had figured out how to keep her shadow from projecting whispy hearts as she walked with him.
"So where do you want to eat?" She asked.

"Um..." The situation as a whole still made Toby somewhat uncomfortable, not that awkwardness wasn't his default expression. His gaze shifted between Chrys and the floor while his thumb tugged at her belt around his waist. For a while, he had been tracing the buckled with his thumb, but he wisely stopped doing that when they started mingling with the public.
"It... doesn't really matter to me," he softly replied. "I-I'm up for just about anything."

Chrys sighed. "You realize I'm just about the same way," she offered. "You up for Oriental or something to that nature?"

"Sure, that sounds good," Toby responded with a shrug. Really, nothing more needed to be said. At least for now.

Chrys nodded and started to go towards one of her usual stops. It was bad enough that the staff had memorized her usual order of orange chicken with fried rice, 2 crab ragoons, and a can of Dew. She felt welcome there and figured it would be a good place for lunch.
"This way," she offered.

"'Kay." Toby casually stuck his hands in his pockets and followed Chrys. As they approached the venue, he directed his attention to the menu. There were quite a few choices, it seemed; it was hard to decide what exactly he was hungry for.
...........................
Eventually one had to wonder if Toby was actually reading the menu or just staring into space.

"You okay Toby?" Chrys asked.
The cashier was waiting for Toby to place his order as Chrys watched.

"Huh? Oh! Oh, uh..." Toby went red as he tore his eyes away from the menu and turned first to Chrys, then the cashier. "I'll, um... I'll have the... sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. ......And an unsweetened iced tea."
God, you are so easily distracted... Toby chastised himself. At least Chrys is managing not to wig out over this power swap!

The cashier nodded. "$13.95," she offered to Chrys who soon paid with a 20. The woman checked it and soon returned the change of $6.05 to Chrys.
Chrys tugged Toby's hand as she lead him to a table. "You still freaking out too?" She asked calmly.

"Uh, heheh... Y-Yeah, definitely," Toby murmured, slumping into his seat. "I don't wanna be repetitious. You know what's up. Or at least you know as much as I do."

"Spacing out like that doesn't help," Chrys admitted. "Oh... please tell me you don't have any allergies..." The last bit sounding worried.

"N-No. No allergies." Toby stared at the table, his fingers drumming against his thigh. "I just... The one thing that worries me most is having to adapt to this while also having to worry about... y-y'know. Them. I'm used to being linked with them, but I can't say for certain how they'll react to our predicament. Of course... knowing them, they could easily find a way to take advantage of it."

Chrys nodded. "I only hope that they don't," she offered looking down at the table. "If they did... it wouldn't end well.... And we both know it...."

"Yeah... Yeah, I know..." Toby sighed at that understatement, sinking lower in his chair. Sure, he never had any real idea how best to deal with the Præt'nos, but now he was feeling completely helpless.

Chrys thought for a few beats but nothing came. "Maybe that mist set them back or screwed with the. As well," she offered weakly. She shivered slightly.
