Jakob's face went slightly pale. "...I'll go get the others."

With that, the Butler quickly left the room, hurrying back towards the waiting area. Fortunately, he remembered the path quite clearly.

When he arrived, Robin had just started to stir from the nap he was taking. "Mmn..."

At this, Kaze groaned slightly, apparently having dozed off without intending to. Corrinne looked at Jakob, noting his paler-than-usual complexion. "... What happened, Jakob? Why are you so pale?"

As the ninja started to wake up, he remained silent, but taking in the conversation.

Jakob actually needed to take a moment to compose himself. "...I would wait for Silas and Lord Corrin to be back with us, but this is urgent. ...We found Scarlet. She's here. I can take you to the room she's in, but..."

Robin looked at the Butler, not saying anything, but something about Jakob's tone gave the man a bad feeling.

"What?! Scarlet's here- Oh gods, please..."

"... Let's go see her."

"Kaze, Robin, let's go..."

As the larger group made their way back, Corrinne felt her stomach twist into knots. Oh gods, Scarlet's here, and she's alive, but what's up with her? Oh gods-



The knot grew as they entered the room, the manakete's already-pale skin going practically white. "Scarlet..." She said, kneeling down and taking a hand. No response. Lower body temperature than expected...

Kaze actually winced, seeing the extent of the wyvern lord's burns. "By the gods... She's lucky to be alive..." His voice shook slightly.

Jakob nodded. "Such burns... it's a miracle she's alive. Apparently she landed right in front of the hospital... Fortune smiled on her. If she'd landed anywhere else she'd have likely died before long..."

Robin actually went pale as well. "...Gods..." What in the hell had happened with these folks? Who would do something like this?

It's all my fault.

If we had jumped first, then she wouldn't be like this. But then who would have been attacked instead?

... I should be the one barely alive.

"Lady Corrinne, do you want to say something?" Felicia's words brought her back to reality.

Corrinne debated saying what she was thinking, but... "I'm just glad she's alive. She's in good hands here..."

Robin's voice, though shaky, did find some ground. "Indeed... the.. the doctors here are capable of far greater things than anything we've ever seen... I'm certain she'll recover."

Jakob closed his eyes a moment. "...I'm certain, as well. ...I simply hope that the physical injuries are all she sustained."

"Scarlet," Corrinne said. "If you can hear me... We're here for you. Myself, Corrin, Felicia, Jakob, Kaze, Silas... We'll be here for you. Please... please open your eyes..." The white-haired woman took one of Scarlet's hands.

The held hand weakly grasped back, before letting go.

Jakob, while no ninja, was hardly incapable of seeing small things. He'd be a pretty bad butler if he wasn't. "...That was a reaction. She could hear you. Gods..."

The butler was absolutely astounded. "...Do you think... as soon as Lord Corrin is released from being checked on, we need to bring him here. He and Scarlet were good friends... do you think she'll react to his voice, too?"

"Let's... I'm sure that she'd like it... Kaze, could you check on them?"

"Of course, milady." With that, the green-haired ninja left the room.

Silas... was still recovering. As he'd found out, the burns were rather deep. They could heal them somewhat (using some of his own skin, no less; what a concept!) but Silas wasn't exactly happy to hear that it would likely permanently damage part of his arm. It was his sword arm, at that... still, he'd decided that he'd deal with it as the time came.

Corrin, at the least, was an easier fix. The hex on him was able to be purged with a strange medicine that they'd given him, and with some rest, the manakete was in much better shape. He was sitting in the waiting room when Kaze arrived, confused as to where everyone else had gone.

"You can hear me? Scarlet... I know you probably can't, but please... open your eyes soon. We'll talk about stargazing and... And what else you like to talk about..."

The manakete continued holding Scarlet's hand, despite the wyvern lord not returning the hold this time. Felicia spoke, "We'll be waiting for you. Please... You're not alone."

"Ah, Lord Corrin, I see you're feeling better," Kaze said with a slight bow. Something about his small smile seemed forced. "I would wait for Silas, but... There is something you may want to see..."

Jakob was silent, as was Robin, but the two light-haired men exchanged a glance at each other, nodding solemnly. Even though Robin did not know the Wyvern Lord personally, he could tell she meant a lot to them, and he sympathized with their plight.

Corrin grimaced a bit at Kaze's words. "...What is it, Kaze?" The manakete stood up, grunting a bit. "Nngh..."

"It..." The green-haired man paused. "It's Scarlet. She's alive, but just barely... I doubt anything I tell you would prepare you for what you will see. Let's go..."

Kaze began leading Corrin to the room where she was being kept, not wanting to keep the inevitable reaction from happening.

Corrin felt his heart stop for a moment, and a sharp breath sounded as the manakete followed the ninja down the hall. "S...Scarlet..."

He thought for sure she had died in that attack she'd saved him and Corrinne from... he felt kind of dizzy. When they got closer to the room, Robin was standing outside the door.

"I thought it wasn't proper for me to be in there with what was going on..." He opened the door for the two, solemnly nodding towards them.
