"Hectic as in... being the focal point of all universes, a little bit of anything from anywhere can be pulled here at a moment's notice," Evan explained. "The geography of the island is pretty chaotic enough on its own, but to top it off, there's a wide variety of creatures, heroes and villains from innumerable dimensions populating this island, thrown together haphazardly in a sort of... perpetual clash, if you will."

"That was probably the worst way you could've described that," Carter mumbled teasingly.

"As for how many universes there are out there... paradox space has no end, mon ami. The possibilities are infinite, as are the worlds that thrive out there. I've met characters from worlds that exist only in movies, video games and the like. I've met alternate versions of the same people from different universe instances."

Evan shot Chat an awkward grin over his shoulder. "I don't wanna overwhelm you with all this, because believe me, I know it's a lot to take in. What matters now is getting yourself situated in this present moment. Once you get a feel for the island, there will be plenty of opportunities to explore."

"Actually, I knew about the island stuff." The pony speaks up. "I just got separated from my marefriend. For... three years..." He frowns a bit. "...I hope she's doing alright..."

Chat Noir frowns a bit, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "I guess I'll go see what the island has to offer. Maybe find a way to support myself, here... I wonder if there's any places that are hiring..."

"Oh... I-I'm sorry about that," Evan replied to Enigma as he parted the trees one last time and stepped out into an open stretch of the park. He then smiled at Chat and gestured towards the city. "Not a bad idea. There's a mall with plenty of outlets that I'm sure could use some hands, and a hotel if you wanna settle down somewhere. Or, should either of you feel so inclined, there's a travel station that should be able to take you back to your home worlds."

"Key word being 'should,'" Carter muttered.

"Whatever you wanna do, I'm more than willing to help out. I've been here long enough to know the ins and outs of the city."

The two of them consider the offers for a moment before nodding at the same time.

"I'd like to get a job, see if I can't get myself self-sufficient." The gleam in the teen's eyes tells of excitement that he's holding back.

The pony has a different answer for them. "I think I may stick with you guys, see what I can do to help out."

"Well, alright then!" Evan cast Chat and Enigma a warm grin, then at Carter, then back at the duo. "Lemme show you guys around!"

The keymaster promptly made a beeline for the city, his dog happily gesturing for the cat boy and pony to follow. No sense in making a big stink about the situation. These guys were cool. As long as he and Evan were needed, they were going to show them how cool and how crazy this place could be.

And as the foursome made their way through the park, a pair of white eyes watched them from the shadows, curiously following the young man in the cat suit.
