Ranuen joined the group launching up the mountain. Hell. Seeker would probably follow them up promptly. The man didn't seem like he'd stay down for long, and he arrived just in time to see the group. "So, gang's all here, huh?" He had arrived just in time to hear Lark's offer of sending them back to Destiny Island.... maybe. Ranuen didn't immediately have an answer to that. Sure, he had no real stake in this, but even so. He'd come to the top of the freaking world following this guy, just so he could cover his tab back at the Club, he figured he may as well go the whole way, right? But at the same time.... it was no fun to go it alone. Ranuen was silent for a moment as he watched the others, waiting to see what they would do first. Somehow he felt Percy wasn't about to give up the chase so easily. "By the way, crazy crowbar is down at the bottom here. He'll probably be coming back up at some point."
------
Alaric was relieved to see reinforcements arrive, but his eyes narrowed slightly at Lark's evasion of the subject. "....Maybe I should just as your friend when he returns then." The hunter suggested to Lark.

"Ugh... I'm gonna get so much grief for not returning the gear. Can't wait to see what kind of jig I'm gonna have to do to get my security deposit back."
Still, the prospect of returning to somewhere without the risk of frostbite was overriding Percy's desire to get his security deposit back. "Cover me. You get off this time, Mercury."
"Okay-dokey, artichokie!"
"Please don't say that ever again." Fall. And there goes Percy back to Nexus Island.
---
Meanwhile a couple hundred metres below...
"Fucking bird."
Despite lacking any sort of specialized gear, Seeker's life in the mountains gave them an edge in climbing. A climb like this would be nothing...
But only one person would be there to greet the eyepatched individual, and it wasn't the white-haired asshole.
"... You. Why didn't you leave with the rest of them?"

Sensing Kelsey's hesitance to take the trip back, Paul placed a hand on her shoulder and kindly offered, "Hey, it's alright. Lark might be a little eccentric, but he's not all bad. He did promise to get us back home, and he's been pretty accommodating, all things considered."
"It's not really a trust issue," Kelsey sighed. "It's just that tonight has been so damn chaotic, I'm not sure if I wanna take anymore risks."
"I suppose I can understand that... but as long as we have a near-definite way to get home, we might as well give it a shot, right? Better than wasting another minute on this sub-zero peak."
"I guess..." Kelsey took Paul's arm and leaned against him, looking tired, sad, and oblivious to the surprise and bashfulness on Paul's face. "I'll just be glad when this is over."
Paul stared down at Kelsey, then at Lark, then at Kelsey again. Then he let out a dejected sigh. "Sorry tonight was such hell. Not exactly the ideal first date."
"Hey, it's not your fault." Kelsey mustered a coy smile. "Besides, our first encounter wasn't exactly that harmonious either."
"Heh... Yeah."
"All this means is that we'll have to try again."
Paul's smile returned as his arm tightened around Kelsey's. "As you wish."
"Pfft. Nerds," Tri chuckled, garnering no response from Kelsey. Not that he needed it. He knew that she knew how adorable she and Paul looked to him.
Without another word, Paul and Kelsey stepped up, ready to make the jump. Soon enough, one swish of Lark's cloak later, they found themselves back on the island...

Ranuen gave a sigh. "Well, if everyone else is going, I guess I may as well come along for the ride." He decided, accepting Paul's offer. He approached, and then, like the others was sent off to Destiny Island.
Alaric, however, had other ideas. "...I think I'll take my chances with the mountain. I'm rather invested now, in this matter, I think, and I'd like to see what the man who is hunting you has to say..." And so Alaric did not take Lark's offer, but instead stayed behind, to greet Seeker when he reached the top. When pressed as to why he had not gone with the others, his answer came quickly. "Because I don't trust that one. Nor you, but he's too evasive with his statements. I'd rather get the truth of the matter as to why you are pursuing him so desperately and rigorously."

"So," Seeker said, hand under their chin. "You're interested in my end of the story? You're an odd duck... Most people just pin myself, Val, and Flint as loose cannons and criminals; one hundred thousand gold shillings on my head alone."
The eyepatched individual stood up. "Bundle up. You'll be here for a few minutes." They took a second to wrap their own cloak around themselves.
"Our story begins some fourteen years ago, when a certain individual began to act strange. His wife had left him, and she took the children with her, leaving behind a foster child, the spawn of the husband's old friends. She believed something was wrong with the child..."
