"... Somebody, or something, had struck down Morva and revived him as an undead husk of his former self," Eirika continued. "We had to charge through the forest to defeat Riev... And put Morva to rest." She hesitated. "The hordes of monsters grew stronger the further we went..."
Another pause, another sip. "And we finally made our way to right Riev and the Dracozombie that was Morva... As most of us dealt with the monsters, Saleh and Ewan fought Riev... And Myrrh had to strike down Morva, as none of us had the strength to fight him. Together, Saleh and Ewan took out Riev for good... And Myrrh granted Morva eternal rest."
...
"My brother can finish this story..."

"Of course..." Ephraim closed his eyes a moment. "...Within the ruins in Darkling Woods... Lyon had almost finished the ceremony. We fought past the monsters guarding him and defeated him... but... ultimately, it was completed. His body was sacrificed, along with the last of his soul... and Fomortiis was revived."
None of the others had said a word, leaning in closer. Oboro was the first to break the silence. "...What was the Demon King like? It's hard to even imagine..."
"...A large creature with a horrifying visage... He summoned monsters against us. We sealed his soul within the Stone of Rausten, but... his body still came after us. None of us were really sure how to fight him... and the stories had described victory against him coming 'atop a mountain of corpses'... but we had come too far to die there. We charged in, brandishing our Sacred Twin weapons... those of us who had them, anyway. We struck and struck at him, but a near-catastrophe happened... he used an odd power and put us to sleep."
"...Why do you say 'near-catastrophe'?" Takumi's usual tone had turned quite somber.
"...Natasha saved us all. She used one of Rausten's Sacred Twins, the staff of Latona... it healed everyone's wounds and cured the magical sleep from those of us who were afflicted by it. We fought with everything we had... and in the end, it was Eirika who struck the finishing blow with Sieglinde. Fomortiis' body broke apart and turned to dust, preventing him from ever being resurrected. Lyon could rest in peace..."
Ephraim finished the remainder of his stein, waiting a while before continuing. "...Afterward, there was much work to be done, repairing the continent. The war had damaged and taken much." He moved his hand, a ring adorning a finger. "...L'Arachel and I wed shortly afterward. It was quite the spectacle, though it created quite the uproar in Rausten..." He chuckled all the same.

"An earthquake struck Grado shortly after the end of the war," Eirika continued. "Some say it was divine punishment for the war, but... This was the catastrophe that Lyon had foreseen. As my brother coordinated the restoration, I worked to reestablish diplomatic relations throughout the land. General Duessel had taken command of Grado for the time, until they could locate a scion of the royal family that had survived. Joshua returned to Jehanna after working in Grado with Natasha, and we established an alliance with Grado together."
"And how did you come to this land of enchantment, my good lady and lord?" Came Odin from Leo's left. A large mug of ale was before him.
"We heard reports of strange activity within the Lagdou Ruins of Rausten. My brother and I set out to investigate, and..." She paused, trying to recall what had happened... "We found a portal. We fell into the portal when the ground broke... And we landed on the mountain..." She took a moment, as if to recall the illogicality of the situation...

"That's not exactly unlike what happened to us, really... just that we deliberately dove to... what we expected was another world." Takumi closed his eyes a moment, mulling over everything they'd been told. "...That said, I have serious doubts that this was the intended destination. Call it a hunch, but I don't think we were supposed to arrive here separated. Still..."
Hinata folded his arms. "Maybe not. Still, it was lucky that we ran into you two when we did."
"You can say that again," Oboro said. "You two were a huge help. I'm sure you two want to return to your home..."
"We aren't sure how, though." Ephraim shook his head. "That besides, I can't just sit idly by when someone needs help. You six seem to have quite the situation going on yourselves."

"'Quite the situation' would be an understatement, Prince Ephraim." Leo leaned forward, burying his face in his hands, wincing at the pain in his shoulders, before looking up. "We're dropped on that frigid and very high mountain peak with nobody else present, get attacked by those... invisible soldiers, have no idea as to where everybody else even is, and if Prince Takumi is correct..." He slowly got to his feet. "We aren't even in the right place. Call it a sixth sense or whatnot, but from what little Corrinne and Corrin were able to say, he's right."
As Niles help support Leo on his feet, Odin took the floor. "Maybe this is the right place, just that their description was off. Maybe this is the land we were destined to save, to fight whatever fell creature summoned those spectral soldiers!" Somebody was clearly back in storytelling mode. "This is a chance, milord! We musn't lose hope, lest we fall into the pit of despair, and-"
"That's enough, Odin." Niles rolled his eye. "The sane version of that is that maybe this is where we're supposed to be. If nothing else, those soldiers seemed to be just as off-guard as we were..."
"Hmm..." Eirika took in their details. "By any chance, could you describe who was also in your group? We could help out."
"... Gods, where do we begin?"

Takumi put a hand to his chin as he thought. "From what Corrin and Corrinne were implying, we'd be going to the leader of those invisible soldiers' homeland... but if they were so unorganized..."
"...Then you're in a place neither of you are familiar with. You can use that," Ephraim finished. "I'd say this is a good opportunity for you all. And yes, let us help you. What are your companions like?"
"...Bizarre." Takumi opened his eyes again before starting to describe his siblings and their retainers. "...The ones responsible for our countries making a truce to fight against this true enemy would be my elder brother and sister, Corrin and Corrinne... younger than Ryoma and Hinoka, but older than Sakura and myself. You couldn't miss them... stark white hair, black-and-silver armor, and can turn into a large dragon."
"...They're Manaketes?!" Ephraim's eyes widened a bit at that. "...Can you do that, too?"
"No. Leo and myself can utilize special points of power due to our blood, however... the blood of dragons runs far back in our bloodlines."

"Dragon Veins, they're called," Leo continued. "I'm not sure why Corrin and Corrinne can turn into dragons, but we'll find the answer to that some other time. There's another individual you should know about. Azura. You'd be hard-pressed to miss her. Long blue hair, golden eyes, and a beautiful voice. From what we were told, Azura was the one who got Corrin and Corrinne into the enemy's land to begin with. Chances are, if this landing pattern was consistent, they're with a maid and a butler; Felicia and Jakob. Their uniforms stick out on a battlefield... You might have guessed, but most people from my homeland, Nohr, are quite fair-skinned." Indeed, compared to Takumi, the Nohrian prince's skintone was almost white.
"And we have our allies! Selena, the mercenary with the sharp sword and an even sharper tongue, with long red hair in twin tails, an attendant to Lord Leo's elder sister, Lady Camilla, rider of the risen wyvern of dusk, and armor that could only belong to her! Supporting Selena with Lady Camilla is Beruka, the one who rides the orange wyvern, axe as sharp as her azure-colored hair! And then-" As Odin got into his little session, Niles shut him up.
"Perhaps Lord Leo and I should handle this, hmm? What Odin was trying to say is that Selena is a redhead with a sunken chest, Beruka is a sharp bluenette with a dragon, and Camilla... Oh, Camilla can't be missed, shall we say?"
"... Thank you, Niles." Leo nodded towards the outlaw keeping the dark mage silent. "Camilla is my older sister by blood, and Selena and Beruka are her retainers. My younger sister, Elise, I have concerns over. Mostly because I'm concerned about... Well, Elise just learned to pick up a tome before we jumped in, and if she was affected the same way we are, she might not be able to defend herself at all. She has a similar hair color to me, and oversized twin tails. Her retainers are Effie, who can uproot entire trees and bend metal with her bare hands; and Arthur, who you will probably notice by his surroundings first."

"Dare I ask how regarding Sir Arthur?" Ephraim seemed a bit perplexed at that.
Takumi responded dryly. "You'll know by the appearance of a disaster area. The man is ungodsly unlucky."
"...Somewhat like Knoll, then. Good to know..." Ephraim rubbed the back of his head. "For the time being, anyway, it seems like we have a plan. I did speak to the innkeeper before you came out this way, and it seems like there's some unusual things going on here... I was informed that to the south of here is a larger... city, they said. That might be a good place to go; however... I was also told that there's been word of unusual activity in a building to the southwest of here... it's on the way. Ought we investigate? One of your allies might have wound up there."
"That seems like a solid idea," Hinata replied. "You never know..."
Takumi nodded in response. "I agree. Once he and I have recovered sufficiently, we'll make our way that direction. If we find someone, great, but if not, we'll still be heading the right way to get to this... city."
