Paul wasn't the only one staring. Ranuen gazed in rapt interest as Percy transformed into the being he called "Imago". Ranuen had heard of this once or twice-- two entities sharing the same body, but it was his first time ever actually seeing it. "That's pretty cool." He noted as the transformation completed. Imago was pretty clear in his description of events. Ranuen wondered exactly what an "Ira" class was, but didn't have time to ask, before he transformed back into Percy, promptly falling off the table, with a crash that actually briefly bounced Ranuen into the air. "That looks like it might have hurt." He mused aloud.
He really couldn't comment on Kenny's line about freeloading, seeing how he was effectively doing the same thing.
Ranuen sighed while scratching the back of his head. "And also, where did that thing go? It seemed pretty dangerous. I don't think it'd be a great thing if it just suddenly came back." He muttered. "And what's Lark and Seeker's role in all of this, if they have one?"

"Nrgh... ow... Gonna feel that one later..." Percy groaned as Kelsey assisted him up, rubbing the back of his head. "To answer your question, I guess he's been attached to my soul since I was a few days old... At least that's what Imago says. Of course, I didn't find out he lived in my head until I was like, thirteen, so make of that what you will."
That being said, he seemed to be avoiding the topic of the Protostar Beast until now. "I... Don't know. It sounded like a nasty piece of work from what you told me... Just hope who or whatever's around to calm it? I dunno... Anything else I missed? Hell, what did it even look like?"
"Hey, Paul, Perce and I kinda have no money now, so can we crash in your room for now?" William tossed himself on the couch, stretching his long limbs. "We'll see if we can't get some shillings in our pockets tomorrow, but..."
There was the sound of clanging coins from Mallory, as the bookish man withdrew a bag of, clearly, money. "I did some translation jobs while you were out being heroes or suicidal..." Clearly, he didn't want to talk about where he got it from beyond that. "They pay well. You two can stay with me for the night... Look, uh, Paul, was it? I'll get these idiots off you for a few hours."
"Room service on Mallory?"
"Room service on Mallory!"
"Get off me! I'll let you sleep with me for a night, but you're in charge of any debts you incur! And GET OFF ME, YOU POINTY-EARED FREAK."

"Two souls present in one body since birth?" Kelsey looked up at some unseen force, eyebrow raised curiously. Then she stared solemnly at the floor and nodded. "I guess that makes sense. Seems to me like you two have a sort of strained relationship, which... granted, there are worse relationships to have with a demon using you as a vessel. At least you know he's there, even if you're not aware of what he does when he takes over, which you... have my condolences for. Really."
Kenny chuckled slightly at Percy's inquiry about the Protostar Beast. "It was big. Kinda dragon-like with a little bit of lion. Total abomination, but pretty kicka*** as far as abominations go. And when Kelsey over here was beating the s*** outta it, oh MAN, was it a sight to behold! But after that... whoever that was cast their spell on it, it calmed down and pissed off."
Kelsey just sighed, none too happy about the reminder of her violent encounter. She was really anxious to sleep this insanity off.
Having remained dejectedly quiet for some time, Paul warily turned to William and rubbed his neck, completely taken aback by the request to stay in his hotel room. "Uhhhhh... Well, I..."
Before he could get a chance to be a total pushover, though, Mallory offered his abode to the duo instead. After sneakily letting out a sigh of relief, Paul awkwardly said, "Yeah, that... might be for the best. This room's really only meant for two, maybe three people. Wouldn't want you to feel crowded. Plus, if I'm being honest, I... think I need a night to pull myself together and... regroup once I've come to grips with what the hell is going on."
"Then you're gonna be out of commission for a while," Kenny plainly stated.
Kendall took a deep breath and stared out the window. "Would anyone care for my advice?"
"Uh... Sure, dude," Kenny replied with a shrug. "You've been pretty quiet."
"Tomorrow morning, Paul, Kelsey... might I recommend a visit to the church? You might find something you didn't even know you were looking for there."
"Oh, yeah, of COURSE he would recommend that..." Tri grumbled irritably.

Ranuen took in what Percy told them. So he'd been linked with this "Imago" since he was only a few days old, huh? "I've heard of that before. Once or twice. But it's really uncommon. Why you?" Ranuen asked. His question might have come off as particularly blunt, though he hadn't meant it offensively or in a demeaning manner. Upon being asked about the Protostar beast, Ranuen tried to answer, but was beaten to the punch by Kenny. "....Actually yeah. That... that sums it up pretty well. Shot some big energy blasts too. It looked pretty strong and pretty tough. Kelsey did awesome. Took it on singlehandedly and looked like she was doing pretty well!" But as for hoping whoever was around to calm it....
"I dunno if we should be counting on that." Ranuen gave a short sigh. "We can always hope for the best, but things are starting to get really weird. Might be best to start preparing for the worst case."
The subject of sleeping arrangements came up and Ranuen looked around in moderate embarrassment when Mallory offered to cover Percy and William. "I mean... I don't take up much space and won't get in the way. But if you guys all want your privacy, I can probably find some sleeping arrangements for myself. I'm lacking in the money department too, but that hasn't stopped me yet!" Getting work was pretty difficult for someone who could only actually DO any work for about an hour a day. Either way it's not like it was gonna be hard for Ranuen to find a place to sleep nearby. All it'd really take was some piece of litter like a tin can on the sidewalk and he'd have a decent piece of shelter.
It seemed there were winding down, at least, but the last order of business seemed to discuss a visit to a church. Ranuen paused, wondering why that would help them... But then again. Wasn't like they had anything better to do. Maybe some god or another would send a sign?

"I said, get off me, you pointy-eared freak!"
Crash. Mallory dropped Percy to the floor, causing the brunette to groan and slowly get to his feet. "Ow, ow ow. There was no need for that... Oh, don't give me that look, I weigh less than Will."
"When you're in my profession, anything heavier than a big book is a lot..."
As the three men shuffled out of Paul's room, you could hear them discussing...
"Maybe we should check out that church in the morning."
"You two can go ahead. I want to stay alive."
"... Hey, Perce, did you just call me fat?!"

"I suppose I should depart for the time being as well." Kendall stood up off the couch, taking a deep breath as he cast a solemn gaze out the window, then smiled down at Kenny. "I'll catch up with you again soon."
"Alright. No problem," Kenny responded somewhat plainly. "Thanks for the lift back."
"Anytime. I hope you all make a swift recovery from this chaos."
"Yeah, no kidding..." Paul chuckled stiffly. "Guess we'll see ya around then?"
"Indeed." Kendall opened the window and reeled back a few steps. "Have a good night!" Then he torpedoed out the window, spread his wings and gracefully flew off into the night.
As Kelsey watched him go in keen fascination, Tri let out a long groan. "Finally, I can breathe again..."
"Heh... Well..." Kelsey then turned to weakly smile at Paul. "Guess I should head back to my place too."
"Y-Yeah..." Paul grinned and rubbed his neck bashfully. "Sorry tonight didn't go exactly as planned..."
Kelsey shrugged. "Well, when it wasn't completely bats***, I had a good time. So... thank you."
She gave the dragon man a quick hug, then headed out the door, shooting him a wave over her shoulder. "See ya tomorrow!"
"O-Oh! Yeah! Tomorrow! The church!" Paul waved back. "See ya then!"
As the door closed behind her, Paul took a deep breath and desperately hoped that he had made a good first impression on this girl. Then he ruffled Kenny's hair and chuckled, "Okay, seriously now, you need to get some sleep."
Kenny snickered back in good humor before making his way down the hall. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. But I'm going with you tomorrow, alright?"
"I see no reason to try dissuading you." And with his roommate and his date having departed for the night, Paul looked down at the sole remaining party member with a weary grin. "You can stick around here if you want, Ranuen. No skin off my nose."

Ranuen saw everyone departing and kept his silence for the most part, whilst sleeping arrangements got worked out. He chuckled slightly at the comment of anything being larger than a book being too heavy. "Well, you're still ahead of me. Anything bigger than a shot glass is probably too much for me." Ranuen joked. Though at his size, most people would consider a shot glass to be suitably impressive. It'd be the equivalent of moving a small building for most people.
And then everyone was gone in surprisingly short order, leaving just Ranuen, Paul and Kenny. "Then if it's all the same to you, I'll take you up on that offer. I'm sure I'll find somewhere to pass out, out of the way." He answered. "Thanks!" He said, as he made his way off in the approximate direction of the cabinets to find a dark, secluded hiding hole to sleep in that night.
