"Nrgh... Time to wake up..."
SMASH. There went Lobo's 95th clock of the year. The black-haired angel crawled out of what appeared to be an oversized nest with pillows and a torn-up sheet. He frowned at his regular haggard appearance in the mirror. "Ick." Groaning slightly, he grabbed one of the hair ties and pulled most of it back into the wild ponytail. "Much better."
He started pulling on his clothes, not really noticing certain changes to the fit. Time to get started on prepping for the night.
But as Lobo descended the staircase, he found himself tripping over his suddenly-baggy pants, creating quite a spectacle of noise as he fell.
"MOTHERFUCKER!!"
"Yeah, you loud enough?"
"It's these fuckin' pants, sis!" Lobo took Loba's extended hand, finally noting...
"Uh, since when were you taller than me? And what's going on with my vo..."
One of the stovetops exploded suddenly to the tune of "MOTHERFUCKER!!!"

An exasperated blonde looked her younger sister as water wings spread out behind her. "You know you can use your indoor voice right?"
"BUT WE'RE OUTSIDE!!" came the rather loud reply. "BESIDES YOU SAID THAT YOU KNEW THE PEOPLE WE GOT THESE POWERS FROM. HOW DO YOU FORM WINGS LIKE THAT?"
The blonde raised a finger to respond but stopped to think. "....... I don't know... I saw Todd do this last year when I had the cool fire powers. I just mimicked what he did," She answered. "It's like having your cloak but not fabric."
The younger one nodded and soon seemed to start flying along as well but instead of using cloud like wings, the silver eyed human had somehow formed her blood red cloak into a pair of wings. "LIKE THIS, YANG?"
"I guess.... Looks cool nonetheless," the blonde offered as she went a bit further to land in front of a slightly worn out bar before knocking on the front door.
"WHY YOU KNOCKING, YANG? THE SIGN SAYS THEY'RE CLOSED," the younger noted after landing.

From inside, somebody flipped the sign, now reading 'Sorry, we're open.'
"Yo." Loba stood at the door, noting Yang and Ruby before her. "... Well. That answers a lot." It seemed as though not much could faze the formerly-hydrokinetic angel. "So, you got my powers, and your little friend got my bro's and his little volume problem. Hope you weren't too attached to flying, 'cuz you're probably gonna be grounded for, like, a month."
"Uh, what?!" Lobo limped towards the door, having shrunken a bit in the past few minutes and now noticeably shorter than his sister. "You're still so quiet! She's the only one who sounds normal to me!" Evidently, the male angel might just have a hearing problem. "Also, who the ever-loving fuck had these powers? Robert Scott Carey?! 'Cuz I'm not too fond of this!!"

"Hey. And yeah. Still sorry about the wall last year...." Yang offered.
"HE'S RIGHT. YOU TWO ARE TOO QUIET!" Ruby offered.
"Ruby. Shut up or I will have Forsaken hide Crescent for the next 3 months."
Ruby gave a loud whimper before hiding her face in her hood.
"I wouldn't know Mister Mirror shades," Yang noted. "To be honest she just figured out how to fly Loba. You guys have any coffee? And is it normal for him to shrink?"

Joining the group was another victim of recent events on the Island. Well. In this rare case "victim" wasn't really the appropriate term for it. Unless you count the rude awakening Ranuen got when he suddenly and abruptly grew out of his hiding hole that morning. That... had been a bit awkward. But Ranuen was in a really good mood today. As near as he could tell, he wasn't having to use up any magical power to counteract the spell Brandish had cast on him all those years ago. Come to think of it... he wasn't feeling any magic whatsoever. That was.... weird. As Ranuen approached Club Lobahzotah, he paused for a moment. Then tried to gather his strength, and strike a nearby light post.
"OW WHAT THE HELL!?" Ranuen exclaimed as he felt his knuckles split open. He pulled his arm back, wincing, looking at the light post. It was still there. There was a slight dent in the lamp post, owing to Ranuen's intense martial training, but it hadn't been uprooted from the ground like he'd expected. And then there was the fact his knuckles on his right hand were looking pretty bloody. "Wh-where'd my strength go?" He wondered aloud, as he continued toward the club. He was ecstatic about not having to deal with dodging high winds, cats, and passerbys on the way there, but deeply troubled that he couldn't seem to access any of his magic. He hadn't even been able to use his pyrokinesis, and he was rapidly realizing that it was cold this morning. And Ranuen's sleeveless shirt was hardly the most appropriate wear for such a day.
So why Club Lobazotah? He was kind of just feeling it. Something was drawing him there. Well, it was as good a start point as any to look for someone that might know what was going on. He saw a group entering just as he approached. Seemed he'd gotten here just as they opened. Well that wasn't ideal, but well. Maybe he could look around as people started showing up? Ranuen entered, and immediately found the place... somehow more chaotic than usual. "Something going on in here?" He asked as he entered. It was a long shot, but maybe whatever had affected him, was affecting others and causing the commotion, quickly noticing the much shorter than usual Lobo. "....I remember you being taller the last time I was here."

"Hey! I resemble that remark!" Lobo jabbed at Raunen, although with his reduced height, he only ended up poking the former ant-man's stomach. "Just remember, my strength isn't changed, Carey! I can stil- gah!"
Loba simply pulled her brother off to the side, sending him flying with a comical "aaaaaaahh!!!" The calmer angel simply sweatdropped at this. "Yeah, looks like personality swaps aren't a thing. Come in, come in you three. Better make sure not to step on bro."
From a damaged-looking tree next to the bar, an angel with greenish-grey skin was perched, yelling into what looked like a green crystal. "I don't know what the bloody hell is bloody going on!! All I know is that my powers are being used by a bloody buffoon! ... Huh?" Liderc raised an eyebrow, noting the display in front of the door. "... Well. Looks like one problem is becoming bite-sized as I speak, and one of them may be depowered..."

Yang rolled her eyes. "So noted. Come on Ruby," Yang offered. "We're not drinking. Just talking. I know the rules around here."
The cloaked one nodded. "OKAY!" she offered.
Yang winced. "Whisper please," she asked.
"Okay. I'm right behind you," Ruby offered before waving to Ranuen while watching the group with her one good eye.
There was a chuckle on the other end of his line. Possibly from the being on that side of the line. "Makes it all the easier for you to finish that mission of yours doesn't it, Liderc. I should be landing near you in a few seconds. We can see what you can do then if what you say is true," offered the voice as a soft wing beat could barely be heard next to him.

Ranuen blinked in surprise as Lobo jabbed him in the gut. Strength hadn't changed... Well, that was technically true, but everything was relative. He did grin at Loba's comment. "Yeeeah, I'll be careful. I think I've got enough experience knowing what to watch out for." He commented. Besides, Lobo wasn't that small. Yet. Ranuen looked around. "So... anyone... have any idea what's going on then? I'm kinda psyched today, not waking up at the size of an ant, but none of my other skills or abilities seem to be working for me today..." Not QUITE cluing in on exactly what had happened yet. But hey! Give him credit, he was pretty close to figuring it out!
The group Ranuen had entered with also seemed to be having a fair share of troubles, and Ranuen winced as the cloaked figure shouted loudly right next to them. "Agh, sonnuva..." Ranuen growled out, holding his ears. He waved back to Ruby, returning the gesture. "So... does anyone have experience with these sorts of things before?" He asked.

"Yeah, I've got plenty of experience with this. It's pretty much a once a year event." Loba seemed to be straining to reach the top shelf for cups, evidently not used to just flying up and not relying on her water constructs. After a second, her wings extended, and she grabbed several cups, then turning on what appeared to be a coffeemaker. "Doesn't affect race-based powers, though." Click. There came the coffee. Loba grabbed the sugar jar, taking a spoonful before dumping the jar into her cup. "Yeah, I can't do my water-bending thingy, but I can still fly. ... Oh, and my deranged half-brother will probably be an ineffectual villain. He did this last year, too." A sneeze could be heard outside.
Lobo scowled at the tiny cup he was given. "I'm not that small." Still, he made a jump for a pepper grinder, probably putting more than what was reasonable in his drink. "You, ant-man, since I have your powers, tell me. Is there a way to make me not small? Anything else you can do that I should know about? Because I think I made an oven explode."
"I thought it was funny."
"Shut up, sis. No, I don't need a high chair."
---
"Please, please, please. Tell me you didn't switch, and that you know what the bloody hell happened." Clearly someone was forgetting the events of last year. "Still, it's nice having backup that isn't that idiot."
Achoo! "... Either something up my scent detector, or somebody was talking about me." Liderc said, trying not to fall out of the tree. "I don't even bloody know what I'm bloody capable of doing... So it's best to attack while we're both blind."

Yang nodded. "Meaning he's had his powers switched too... And I think we adopted a Perdix.... Wonder where that one got off to...." Yang noted as Ruby raised an eyebrow. "He was a good little partridge. This happens every year. Seems I get the cool power sets each year. Ruby was a werewolf one year and last year she got her partner's powers. That was fun."
"I went zoom with Weiss' Glyphs, and summoned something..." Ruby spoke-whispered. "What happened to your hand?" Her good eye was looking at the bloodied hand of Ranuen.
----
"I don't have a clue what you mean by switch, Keruv. I can still manipulate the shadows if that is what you mean. And as for what happened.... I'm afraid you'll have to tell me. And more than likely it is the two traitors," another angel answer as she finally came into Liderc's view. "So shall we get you out of this tree first? And did you forget you had wings again?" The Prasino seemed to almost be joking with the one stuck in a tree.

Ranuen paused as he got the basic gist of what was going on. "Does it... wear off after awhile?" He asked. Almost disappointed, hearing that he'd be back to fighting off a Spriggan's curse again at some point. Lobo pressed Ranuen for information on his abilities. "Huh? Oh... yeah. My actual magical abilities are enhancement and fire magic. I've never actually made an oven explode, but... Yeah. That'd be fire magic. And as for enhancement, I can expend magic to improve my physical abilities. Any physical ability really. Speed, strength, toughness, recovery speed... Even stuff like hearing and sight." He explained. "The.... size thing was a result of someone else casting a spell on me. I can use that same enhancement magic to temporarily break the spell, but it only lasts as long as I can consciously keep my magic flowing to fight it. As soon as I stop expending magic, or my reserves get depleted, I well.... I'm right back to my smaller height." He informed Lobo. "That... that took a bit of complex magical theory, but, it looks like this process has left you with at least some inkling of how to tap into my skills, so maybe you'll pick it up quickly?" He said hopefully. It had taken Ranuen a long time to build up the reserves of magic to fight off Brandish's spell. If he ever managed to truly rid himself of his magical affliction, he'd probably have one of the largest reserves of magic in history, simply from building it up every day fighting the spell.
"To be honest, focusing on increasing your durability might be just as important, if not moreso, depending on how attentive everyone here is..." Ranuen commented, glancing at the crew. Bolstering speed, strength, or going back to normal size temporarily were all well and good, but none of it helped if someone wasn't watching where they were walking, or a heavy object fell off a shelf. He didn't really know how likely that might be in this place, not knowing the Club's staff particularly well.
Then attention was brought to his hand. "Oh, that?" Ranuen asked. "Well err... I felt weird without my magic this morning so I.... kinda punched a lamp post to see if I could still tap into it." He admitted. "I really couldn't and-- wait, what?" Ranuen glanced at his hand. While it was still bloody, now that he thought about it, the hand had stopped hurting. Ranuen checked it. "But... the injury I got... it's healed somehow." That was a shock to him. Even his enhanced healing abilities with his magic hadn't acted THAT fast.

"Oh, no need to worry. It'll be gone by the end of the month and we'll all be back to... whatever passes as normal for us." Loba shrugged. "Well, I needed a vacation. I wonder who got my powers, though..."
"Sounds like fire magic and shapeshifting." Lobo placed a hand under his chin. "Let's see..." Inhaling and closing his eyes, he focused, his body shooting back up to his original size. "Ha! I've got this part down! ... Now I just need to learn how to do the fire thing."
---
"Oh, shut up, Sophi, it was only the one time," Liderc made a 'huff!' sound at this, although he didn't seem as harsh as he normally was. "To answer your question, it seems as though, at consistent intervals, some residents of Nexus undergo a power switch event... Me included, unfortunately." The blonde angel scowled clenching a fist as if trying to make it ignite from sheer anger.
"I bet these powers are useless, anyway." A cobalt-tinged glyph was summoned, and the green angel punched it... Only to have it rebound back in his face at increased speed. "Balrgh!? ... The hell was that?" Still, despite that, he seemed grinning, and there was no bruise nor broken teeth from his rebounded punch. "... Oh. I was always good at physics."

Yang chuckled. "That would be me, Loba. Little sis got what I can presume are Lobo's wind abilities," Yang offered as she seemed to relax slightly.
Ruby blinked with her good eye. "Yang. I think he either got yours or Weiss' abilities. Because that would be Aura," Ruby whisper-spoke.
---
"Actually.... Why not we see what all that your new powers can do? Because that looked like an advanced casting circle..." Sophi offered with a smile- a clear indicator she was in science mode. "And if your powers have flipped with some rather grand caster while the twins were clearly dealt a terrible hand, Liderc, who's going to stop you from using these new ones to cause havoc for them and their guests?"
The slightly more feminine angel of the pair offered a hand to her technical superior. "And may I serve you better than that idiot Perdix we sent to assist you a while back... I will note it was not my idea."

Ranuen's eye twitched slightly at how easily Lobo was able to restore his height. Damnit, only because I figured it out first! He tried to wipe this away with a cough and a clearing of the throat. "Ehh... yeah, I suppose so." He stated. "I can usually only maintain my original height for about an hour, give or take, before I have to recover my magic. I don't know if you've inherited my magic reserves or not though." He pointed out. He was somewhat disappointed he'd have to be fighting his usual battles again once this all blew over. But well, at least he'd have his own powers ba--
Wait, what was that?
Ranuen glanced over at Ruby. "Aura?" He asked. "I don't know that term. Well, I mean I know what an aura is, but I think you're using it in a way I'm unfamiliar with." He inquired, wiping the blood off of his hand.

"I'd say by this time, the angry green bird would be kicking down our door, or some shit..." Loba drank her overly-sugary coffee, as a thumping sound was heard against the kitchen window. "Eh. Maybe he'll go through another door this year." And the thumping degraded into skidding noises accompanied by what were likely swear words.
---
"Ow, ow, ow. Reinforced glass..." As he spoke, Liderc seemed to be regenerating the teeth he had lost from the ill-fated crash into the window. "At least I have a vague idea as to how these things work... Let's try the door."
---
"Alright, I needed a fight." Lobo rotated his shoulder. "Haha, oh, this'll be fun..."
There was the sound of the doorbell ringing, followed by the door being torn off by something.
