"Yeah, sure..." Paul mumbled in response to Ranuen's encouragement, too emotionally exhausted to argue anymore.
Kelsey looked back at Percy, letting out only a soft, empathetic sigh as the young man quarreled with his inner demon. When she looked ahead again, she was met with her own demon's astral projection shooting her a coy smirk. "I hope you realize how lucky you are to have a master like me."
"I'm very much aware," Kelsey grumbled back, her sarcasm so bitter and dry that Tri could almost taste it.
The archdemon seemed distracted by something, though. Enough to stop him from offering a snappy comeback, anyway. Following his line of sight, Kelsey turned and looked up at the roof of a nearby building. Through the grey haze of the rain, she swore she could just barely make out a dark purple shape.
She narrowed her eyes, her irises turning ice blue again.
Paul, on the other hand, seemed distracted by something entirely different. As they approached the Plaza, the damage from last night's monster attack still evident, he spotted a man sitting outside a coffee shop...
With another sigh, Kelsey turned to William. "If you trust these guys, I guess it's a feasible option. Although I... may have a very similar..."
"Yo!"
A new voice directed the attention to the man who had already caught Paul's eye. A man in a police uniform, weighed down by a clear amount of fatigue. A man who seemed vaguely familiar to some but entirely too familiar to the dragon reincarnation.
"Scott...!"
"Forgot about me?" the elder brother grunted. "Can't say I blame you under these circumstances."

Ranuen frowned and looked up at the sky. "Day's just started too.... Sorry Paul. It's been a blast for me, but... I get the feeling this is a pretty shit way for you to start off your day, huh?" He offered, and then his head snapped to William. "Are you talking about those two that run that night club in Void City?" He asked, curiously.
The swordsman then considered the other thing William had said. "So hey. Crazy thought. But if we think we're going to be their main target, wouldn't it be a good idea for us to pull away from civilization? I dunno if any of you can cut loose anymore than you already have, but if we move out of civilized areas, if they try to take the fight to us, nobody else has to get hurt as collateral, right?" He offered.
Hmm... but something was off. A chill running down Ranuen's spine, but he couldn't put his finger on it. It felt like they were being watched, but... that was just prey's instincts? Was that just the instinct, honed by years of attempted predator attacks? Or was Ranuen just worn out from the fight he'd just had?
Either way, he was distracted by Scott's arrival. "Oh, hey! It's you! From.... the other night! Right?" He suggested, making room for Scott and Paul to meet up.

When Kelsey's eyes went ice blue, Mara did not move, only raising a paw as if to wave hi. Good, you know your place. I will be needing you.
And just as she had appeared, the purple cat seemed to disappear into the mist...
"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" Percy was on his knees, clenching his head as if in pain. "G-Gaugh! My head! G-Get out of my head! I don't need you, you stupid bug! In case you haven't forgotten, I've got angel blood too! ... Being fine with a few of 'em is NOT justification to commit genocide on the rest of them!" His eyes seemed to flash for a moment, before reverting back to their normal purple, and his long top strands briefly curved into a horn-like shape. Looking up, he seemed... frightened? "... Sorry. I'll... try to drown him out for now..."
"Well, if you say so..." William raised an eyebrow at his younger friend. What the hell was that? He turned to Kelsey and Raunen, and then to Scott. "Ah, yeah... That might be a good idea... And yes, they're the two who own the nightclub, or at least they put their name on it. Oh, hey there. Feeling a little better? No hard feeling 'bout last night, by the way."

"Yeah, well, f*** you too!" Tri shouted to the roof as the cat disappeared, not that she would've heard him either way. "You little PUSSY! Heh, see what I did there?"
Kelsey ignored Tri's attempts to explain his own joke and looked over at Percy. She offered a simple nod but otherwise didn't comment on his odd behavior. His relationship with Imago seemed... different from hers with Tri, and seeing it on display was making her a little nervous. Suspicious, even. Part of her could only guess what was going on beneath the surface, and the other part was hoping she was wrong. She respected both the human and the demon; she didn't want them at odds, especially not now.
Remaining silent, Kelsey turned back around as Paul and Scott slowly, awkwardly approached each other. "Yeah, uh... Sorry, Scott. Didn't mean to leave you out or anything."
"It's okay..." Scott sighed to both Paul and William, raising a hand. "A giant sailboat carrying an army of Rainbow Brite bird men just flew over the city. Call me crazy, but I'd say that takes precedent. I'm just glad to see you're all okay. Seemed to me like you were in the thick of it just now."
"Pretty much, yeah..." Paul murmured. "And I guess this angel army is now our primary concern, so... we're hopefully gonna talk some strategy."
"Makes sense to me. I'd offer my services, but... I'm not sure how useful I could be in the long or short run. I've been running around all night. Having a little trouble thinking straight after staying awake for so long."

Ranuen felt like a weight had lifted off his shoulders. He couldn't put his fingers on why, but he definitely felt like something was gone. Oh well. Maybe just his nerves playing tricks on him. Anyhoooo....
Percy was meanwhile having the king of all freakouts, and Ranuen gave him a sharp look. "I mean... William said to leave it be, but are you doing okay Percy? You're looking.... pretty bad right now." He warned. William, confirmed that he was talking about the night club angels, so Ranuen shrugged. "I guess we can go check it out, and see if they've got intel on how to kill.... themselves? ....Does that seem awkward to anyone? No?" He offered.
Scott and Paul were having their own discussion and Ranuen grinned at Scott, overhearing a part of it. "And now we're at war with an entire race of warmongering psychopaths, and Paul's caught right in the middle!" He added cheerfully.

"... Yeah. He's spouting curses now, but..." Percy shook his head, getting to his feet. "I... I can ignore him for a while..." He walked over to Scott, confused. "Uh... who're you? Why's everyone acting like they know you? ... Oh, yeah. I'm Percy Worcester-Isaac. No, it's not short for anything."
William shot Percy a weird look, but opted to ignore it. "... Raunen here is a little eager to get killed or something like that." The tall shrugged towards the fire mage. "I'm not eager to get killed, so we're going to talk to some non-psychopathic angels who run a bar to see what they know 'bout their own kind. Takes one to kill one, yeah?"
Those two are alright. They can live.
Percy scowled, hearing the demon. "Y-Yeah... Let's... not leave 'em waiting. 'Sides, I'm kinda hungry... Haven't eaten anything since last night." A faint grumbling sound could be heard. The scowl returned. "... Fine. But only if you'll stop talking." Percy turned to Kelsey. "Hey, uh, Kelsey... Would... would you mind if we talked?"

"...Yeah." Paul flatly intoned, not exactly happy about what Ranuen was saying. "Pretty sure it's safe to say the leader of that squadron wants me personally dead."
Scott sharply inhaled through his teeth. "Do I wanna know why?"
"Let's just say I've gotten weirder since the last time you saw me."
The elder brother tilted his head in a mixture of confusion, dismay and exhaustion. "Yeah, I... noticed the horns, but... I get the feeling that's not what you're referring to."
Kelsey let out a long sigh and looked up at William. "Well, as long as you trust these angels, I guess talking to them couldn't hurt. If push comes to shove, though, I may have someone else who can get us some information too."
Then Percy asked Kelsey for a moment of privacy, earning a slightly wary expression and a shrug in return. After that heated argument he just had with Imago, given the position she was in, she could only imagine what he wanted to tell her. "Oh, uh... Yeah, I guess that's fine."

"I am not eager to die! It's just that fights that put your life at risk are the fastest way to get stronger!" Ranuen protested William's assessment of his explanation.
Ranuen looked over at Percy then. "Yeah, food sounds good. Haven't had breakfast yet, and already we've been in a pretty good scrap. Well, I mean. That place does serve food, so you know. Kill two birds with one stone, yeah?" He suggested, trying to orient himself in the city and figure out which way was the Club. "Those two angels are kinda asses, but they'll probably at least come clean with us. ...Probably. If for no other reason than these guys taking over would probably be bad for business."

Eye roll.
"Whatever you say, dude." William was clearly unamused by Raunen's outlook. "Yeah... let's... go to the club. Let's get some food, and see if our non-psychopathic (I think) feathered friends have anything to say about their own kind." But before that, there was the issue of his shorter friend. "Perce, what's up?"
"Look, it's none of your business. I'm not a child anymore-"
"You're sixteen."
"And going on seventeen!" The brunette huffed. "YOU'RE less responsible when you're drunk!"
"Whatever, Perce. Just don't get killed. You-"
"Have a habit of picking fights you can't win, yeah yeah I've heard this one before. I just..." Percy looked between Kelsey and William. "Look. Kelsey and I will meet you there. Okay?" Without waiting for confirmation, Percy began to move out...
"... Ugh..." William placed his face into a hand. "I know I should go after him, but..." He looked up at the rest of the group. "Sorry 'bout that... Yeah, this is mostly normal for us, minus the being invaded part..."

"I-It's okay..." Paul sighed, nodding to William. He turned back to his older brother. "Feel like sitting down with us and discussing what the hell we're doing here?"
"I suppose I don't have any better options at this point," Scott mumbled.
"Right..." Then Paul looked down at Kelsey. "Meet you there?"
"Sure..." That was all Kelsey had to say as she began a brisk walk, following Percy towards an alleyway, still clearly unnerved by whatever was about to occur on top of her stoic determination.

"It's good to have you on the team, Scott." Ranuen said to the other man. They needed all the help they could get at this point. Reinforcements were welcome. Heck, with as few as they had, Scott's addition actually was a considerable improvement to their overall strength. Well, he assumed so anyways.
"Guess it's time to visit some angels..." Ranuen murmured as he walked alongside the group, noting the lack of Percy. Ranuen hoped that it'd be alright to let Percy run off on his own. Now that they were being targeted, or so Kelsey believed anyways, it could be risky to be out without the rest of the group to cover for them. Even if Percy did have Imago in his head.
"I hope he'll be alright..." Ranuen murmured as he headed out with the others.
