"Will? Will! ... WILL!!!"
A skinny brunette skid to a halt, out of breath. "Gah... hah... not there..." Percy looked around, finding that he was where he had began. "Somehow, I highly doubt that he's going to be back. He's kind of a stupid drunk..."
Percy sat down on the sidewalk, watching as the black-haired woman from earlier stumbled out. No point in asking, kid. She's as drunk as your friend.
"Shut up, Imago." Once again, it seemed as though the brunette was talking to himself. "Hmm... I wonder if... No... Gah... what the fuck do I do now?"
Call your aunt Karel in south Aicarme?
"I don't have an aunt Karel in south Aicarme, Imago! You know that every one of my relatives is dead or hasn't bothered to even say hi if they're..." Percy noticed that he had company, and made a sheepish grin. "Oh, hi. Pretend you didn't hear me arguing with the demon that lives in my head."

Ryan had headed out of the bar, still worried for Lydia, but trusting the girl to get home herself. Besides. He kinda didn't envy the person that tried to mess with someone like that tonight. Something told him that girl had a lot of bite. But while he was walking, he abruptly heard someone shouting nearby, and looked around. "Hmm?" Where was that coming from? Ryan looked all over. Dead streets. Not many people around. If nobody's looking I guess it's okay... Ryan let out a sonic sound, that those nearby would hear a soft ping, before a map of his surroundings was transmitted to Ryan's mind.
Found you. Like a bat's echolocation, Ryan used his in-built sonar to quickly home in on Percy's location, where he caught the man talking to himself.
Not just thinking outloud, but he was clearly talking to himself. Ryan gave Percy a strange look as he approached, but Percy didn't seem to immediately notice him. It sounded like he was arguing with someone. Bluetooth maybe? No... no, even with Ryan's advanced eyesight he couldn't detect one. But Percy suddenly took note of him as Ryan got close.
"Pretend... oh, alright. Yeah. Sure." Wait. Demon that lived in his head? Ryan did a quick double take. "What do you... ummm... Do you need any help?" He asked. "You sound a bit distressed."

"Oh, distressed! Yes!"
Percy sprang to his feet, as if remembering what he was out for. "I'm looking for a friend of mine who's completely and utterly shitfaced." The brunette seemed to be quite distressed. "He's about this tall-" Percy motioned to a spot a fair bit above his head. "Has messy blonde hair and blue eyes, and wears glasses. Hopefully he had enough brains to keep his clothes on- he likes to wear blues and browns."
He looked back and forth across the streets. "He's not responding to me. I'm reaaaaaaly hoping he's just passed out somewhere..."

Ryan pondered for a moment. "Oh! Yeah! That guy!" He admitted. "Stumbled out of the night club a little while back. I saw him. Umm.... He won't be wearing glasses." He reached into his pocket and procured them. "I was gonna go find a local lost & found or something for them, but I guess you work." He offered the glasses to Percy.
"So he's missing now? Were you guys staying somewhere?" He began. "I don't mind helping you look. I'm not really going anywhere tonight, so I can help out!" He volunteered.
"If you guys aren't staying somewhere.... let's see.... after the night club...." He looked around. "Well, we could head towards wherever your friend's been staying? Maybe he got lost on the way there, but maybe we'll find some sigh of him. If he's shitfaced, maybe we'll even find him passed out or something right?"

"Oi vey..."
Percy accepted the glasses with a troubled expression, placing them into what was likely a hidden pocket in his coat. "This is not good... Will can't see for shit without these." His pointed ears perked up, as if trying to pick up any signs of the missing person. "We're staying at the hotel, but... For all I know, he went somewhere a little shadie..."
And the alarm bells went off. "FUCK! There's a good chance he went towards the back alleys, he ALWAYS goes to the shadiest place if left to his own devices when drunk! Love hotels, black markets, you name it... Ugh..." A steel sword with a multicoloured gemstone manifested itself in the brunette's hand. "I'd appreciate not being alone in a shady place, so thanks..." And then, remembering. "Oh, yeah! My bad for not introducing myself. The name's Percy Worcester-Isaac, and no, my first name isn't short for Percival, Perseus, or anything else."

Ryan began to interject at Percy's comment of living conditions. "Well. We could always head into that direction then to start wi--" He was cut off as Percy seemed to reach an epiphany. Well. An epiphany of the worst kind.
"Oh.... That's not--" Ryan did a double take at the sword. "W-whoa I mean... come on. It's not that dangerous where we're gonna be looking is it?" He asked. Ryan hadn't been in a fight before, and didn't want to hurt anyone! Wait... He'd never been in a fight before. Damnit! He didn't actually know how well he could use his new body, or if he could control his strength or.... damnit!
"Either way it's good to meet you Percy. My name's Ryan. Ryan Summers." He replied. "Well then. Let's go look for your friend. If you think he went into a shady place..." Ryan paused. He was a sweet, innocent, summer child when it came to shady areas of town. An upstanding young man he was! Well mostly anyways. "If... you're looking in shady areas, I don't know where to start. I'll help you look though! I guess, um, away from here though, right?"

"I... take it you're a sheltered kid? Must've been a rich family?"
Percy looked around, before settling on the other end of the street. "I think the alleys are this way. If you don't know how to fight, keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground- no, not literally- and stay close to me. I'll keep you safe if you give me a second set of eyes and ears."
Stupid entitled rich kid.
"Shut up, Imago," Percy said to seemingly nothing, before blushing slightly. "Uh... if it seems I'm talking to myself, I'm not. Again, demon in my head..." The brunette pointed to the red mark on his cheek. "Well, if you have no objections, let's go." With a quick snap, an orb of pink light appeared in Percy's hand, acting as a makeshift torch.
From atop the club, an oversized purple cat watch, her eerie green gaze fixed on the pair.

Ryan's face flushed light crimson, from what few blood vessels he had left in his face. "I... umm.... How did you..."? He stammered out, astonished at how quickly Percy had worked that out. Percy seemed to take in stride, agreeing to cover for Ryan if he tagged along.
"Y-yeah, fine, fine I'm coming!" He exclaimed, hurrying after Percy as he talked to the demon in his head.
"...Okay you said to pretend I didn't see anything but I do have to ask. When you say demon in your head, are you talking literally or figuratively?" He asked, as he saw Percy procure his makeshift torch.
Ryan had a sudden urge to exclaim "I can do that too!" but held his tongue. You're trying to live a NORMAL life. NORMAL people don't have flashlights installed in their eyeball! He cleared his throat. "So are you a mage then?" He asked, as he followed Percy, unaware of Mara's prying eyes.

"Literally. I literally have a disembodied demon in my head." Percy poked the back of his mop of hair. "He alternates between insulting me and sleeping, with the occasional body hijack. Just felt like you should know that."
As the pair moved, Mara leaped from building to building, stalking the duo. A cyborg and the child of three kinds. What in the name of the trickster creator am I watching now?
"As for the light..." Percy paused, shining the pink light down the first alleyway, finding nothing of note. "I can do magic, yeah. I'm more of a sword guy though." His pointed ears perked slightly. "Do... you feel like we're being watched?" Glancing up, there didn't seem to be anything.

Ryan blinked. "That's.... mildly terrifying." He stated. "Isn't that dangerous at all?" He asked, knowing very little of demons.
As Percy commented on his abilities, Ryan nodded. "I'm... not so good at fighting. It's not something that's come up for me much in my life." He noted, as they walked along. "I'm sorry that you seem to have had to learn how to use them." He placed special emphasis on the 'have' part. Learning such things was pretty cool, but Percy gave off the air of someone who actually needed these skills as opposed to learning as a hobby of some kind.
"Watched? I umm...." Ryan looked around, tempted to use his sonar again, but... not with Percy so close. "I didn't... but, I believe you if you think we are. I don't have any special senses like that to detect it or anything." Big liar.

"Well... In my world, most people just stay indoors unless they absolutely have to," Percy said with a sad smile. "That way they don't get harassed by bandits." Moving onto the next alley, he opted to continue down this one. "It's only rich idiots and people who know how to defend themselves that go around in the open on a regular basis."
Mara continued her observation of the pair. How strange, she thought. A human dependent on technology that's still fully mobile... Clearly, while just as disgusting, the humans of this other world differed from the ones of her's.
"I smell... something." Sniff, sniff. "... Nevermind. It's just the dumpster. Judging by the stench, it's a seafood restaurant." Without warning, Percy kicked open the dumpster. "Will! You fall in there, buddy?!" The pink light illuminated the interior, revealing... nothing except for several bags. "I guess not."

Ryan gave a nod. "Oh I see... But wait... that sounds just as dismal..." He added sadly, walking along with Percy. "I'm so sorry."
He walked in silence for a few moments as they checked the alleys, including the dumpster. "Well. That's one more down at least. Where to next?" He asked, oblivious of Mara's presence as he looked around. "Hmm.... Would it be possible to look for a higher vantage point?" He suggested.

"Higher? Yeah. I guess I can do that."
Percy removed his coat and shirt, stuffing the latter into the former, tying the coat around his waist. Without warning, the skin and muscle around his waist migrated up, forming into fleshy wings, leaving just his spine to support his midsection. "I'm gonna fly us up there. ... What's that look for? Never seen a guy restructure his torso to make wings before?"
Before Ryan could fully respond, however, Percy flew up and above the cyborg, placing his hands under Ryan's armpits. "And... up we go!" There was a series of flapping sounds, and then what sounded like wheezing for air. "Gah... hah... gah... hah... how much... do you weigh...?"
All for one inch off the ground!

Ryan was amazed to see Percy seamlessly grow his wings. "How did you do that!?" He exclaimed, though with as much eagerness as astonishment, and it seemed Percy had anticipated that response. As for his next however...
"H-hold on one second! I'm a little heavier than I--" Oops. Percy was now trying to lift Ryan's 300+ pound body off the ground. And this wasn't fat, either. He was just dense.
"I uhhh.... have. ....Very dense bones. I weigh a little over three hundred pounds." Ryan admitted, his face turning crimson red in embarrassment. Oh geeze, my cover is so blown. Dad's gonna kill me.... He mentally moaned. "W-why don't you fly up on your own and I'll find my own way up? I'm sure I can work something out!" Ryan stammered out, trying to lightly break free of Percy's hold.

"Uh... no offence, but... You don't look like you weigh over three hundred pounds... Hell, you don't even look two hundred..."
Percy set Ryan down, rubbing his sore arms. "If you don't mind me asking..." He seemed oblivious to Ryan's discomfort. "Are you a pelt? Because that's the only answer I've got." The brunette glanced around, before kicking what looked like an unused fire escape ladder down. "Well, if you say so. What'd ya transform into, anyway?"
That's not a pelt, you dense moron.
That's not a pelt, you fool.
"Just because I dropped out of first grade after having to repeat it doesn't make me a moron!" Percy shot a sheepish grin at Ryan. "Uh... I'll meet ya up there."
