"Oh... Well... sh*t, man..." Lydia murmured, genuine sympathy evident in her tone. "I'd hate to steal that privilege away from you entirely if there's someone you have your eye on. Ryan's got a point, ya may as well seize life. Look at me. I..." She stared forlornly at a booklet lying next to her feet. "I missed out on my chance with the sweetest guy I've ever known."
She looked back up at the screen as William noticed her picture of Max, that cheery smile piercing into her soul through his eyes. Her expression and voice weren't exactly sad. They seemed to instead carry a sort of dejected acceptance. "Yeah... Something like that..."
While William and Ryan chatted, Lydia finished off the rest of her booze. However, she perked up slightly when the boys mentioned seeing Max at the bar. When did this happen? Was it at Club Lobazotah? Were they regular clubbers like her? Had she crossed paths with them before?
"Whoaaa..." Something had clearly clicked for Ryan. Likewise, Lydia leaned closer to her monitor to get a better look at him, her eyes and smile widening in dumbfounded realization. "Oh yeah! Yeah, we were just chatting last night! Jesus, I musta been more wasted than I thought, I didn't recognize ya! Wait, does that mean...??"
She wracked her brain, trying to remember any previous interactions she might've had with William at the club, only to realize something...
"Hey... Hey, Will! Go to the mirror in my bedroom! I just realized I have no idea what the hell you look like from the outside!"

"Heh... makes two of us, I guess. I'm startin' to think there are no coincidences on this island," William said, placing the photo frame back where he found it. "I hope God, or Buddha, or Ra, or whatever is getting a kick outta this, the bastard. Hell, for all we know, we're just the toys of some sick fucks with way too much time on their hands." He turned to Ryan. "Wouldn't that be something?"
Following Lydia's next request, he stood up and made his way towards the bathroom. "What, are you that curious to oogle me?" His tone was light, self-decrepitating. "I jest. I'm... not the best-looking guy in the world." Staring into the reflective surface, the blonde sighed, noting his lack of the short-sleeved overshirt and vest. "The William Lowe machine. This bad boy can fit so many defects on it."

Ryan gave a nervous chuckle. "C'mon... we know that's not the case." He stated to Will. "That's just ridiculous."
He saw Will walk over to a mirror, assuming Lydia had asked him to do something. "Ah well. Humility has its place too Will. If you're not too busy chatting with Lydia, do you mind telling me a bit about her?" The cyborg inquired. "You're not defective or anything. You're just a guy like anyone else. Well. With a few tricks that most people don't have. Like that magic sword of yours, you know. Nah, you seem like a pretty good guy." He assured the blonde. "At least now that I know you're not crazy. ...We should probably let Percy know that the whole voice in your head was real."

Lydia let out a stiff exhale through her nose, smirking at the person in her monitor. Messy blond locks, blue eyes behind glasses, blue shirt covering a trim frame... standing dead-center in the familiar surroundings of her bedroom wall. Despite it being a completely different person in her mirror, it still somehow felt like she was right there, staring herself in the face.
"Hey, give yourself some credit... I've seen worse things in this mirror." After a light chuckle, Lydia noted one of the framed photographs in William's peripheral. One of herself in her training days, sitting in an airplane cockpit and cheesing to the camera. "Well, there's me. May as well show it to Ryan, let him know I am the same person from last night. Honestly, everything you guys need to know about me is right there anyway."

"Hmm. I'm gonna assume this is you?" William asked, turning and picking up the framed photograph. A woman with brown skin, dark brown eyes, and black hair, in something resembling a metallic biplane stared back at him. "Huh. I'd say you're pretty good-looking yourself." Looking up, the blonde passed the photo to Ryan. "Seeing as you were likely the only one of us that wasn't drunk last night... Here she is. That's Lydia. You recognize her?"

Ryan looked at the picture and nodded. "That was her. Yeah. And well.... only one of you that wasn't drunk... That's fair, but that's only because last night proved I can't. I honestly tried." He grumbled. "But... I suppose that's for the best. It means I was able to recognize both of you today." He admitted. "So I'm glad for that!" He said encouragingly. "Talk about a coincidence though...." He breathed as he stared at the picture, before handing it back.

"Tell me about it..." Lydia chuckled, smirking at the screen as she once more looked over William's reflection. She slowly found that the longer she studied him, the more familiar he became. There wasn't a definite click like there was with Ryan, but she was almost certain she had seen him before, and that got her to snicker a little. It was kind of funny to think that last night had brought the three of them together for this misadventure...
It was in that moment –that instance of calm, contemplation, and camaraderie– that Lydia finally realized what they had to do.
"You know what? I think we're gonna need a little more help. Finding Percy is one thing, but I think I know someone who can lead us in the right direction." She gave the man in the mirror a bold grin. He might not have seen it, but it could be felt in her tone. "How ya feelin'? Is your head clear? Are ya ready for action?"

"Is my head clear? Yeah it's like... totally clear..."
William said, a bit unsteady on his feet. Taking a moment to try and steady himself, he spoke again. "I'm like... totally ready! Completely and utterly reliable! For all my defects, I'm always ready to head out! So! Where can your reliable wheels take you now?"
He turned to Ryan. "Completely reliable and not in the least even slightly tipsy right now, right? You can see me best, I'm ready to roll! Right?" His slightly unsteady pace said otherwise.

Ryan grinned at William. "Well don't worry Will. If you pass out drunk, I'll be there to try and bail us out of trouble." He assured the blonde. "Shall I go and grab the car again? It sounds like Lydia's worked something out, huh?" He offered.

For a while, Lydia said nothing, but her scowl was so penetrating that she wouldn't have been surprised if William could feel it penetrating his skull. Now that she was on the ball and ready to see this mission through, she wasn't letting him leave until she was certain he was too. And when it came to sobering up and getting motivated, there was always one surefire way that worked for her.
"Slap yourself in the face."
William's reflection filled her monitor again as he turned back to the mirror with a baffled expression.
"Your face. Slap it."

"Okay. I dunno what this is for, but..."
William raised a hand, ending a short distance from his face. Bracing himself for impact, he brought his palm towards his face with great force, knocking him down onto his rear end with an audible smacking noise and a yelp. "Ow!" He stood up slowly, holding his sore cheek in his hand. He dreaded the kind of bruise he would be seeing under that. "Ow, ow, ow. That hurt. I'm really gonna have to learn to control that..."
But hey, at least his head felt clearer now.

Slap Thud
Ryan paused and stared as William slapped himself. "What was that!?" He asked, walking over to extend an arm to help William up. However, it seems he didn't need it as he quickly righted himself. "Uhh.... feel beeter?" Dumb question but it seemed the one that was prudent. "Are we ready to go? I'll head out and get Lydia's car started if we are." He suggested. "You two finish up anything else you gotta do and I'll meet you outside." He suggested, turning around and heading for the apartment's door.

"...!" Lydia was caught somewhat off guard by the force of William's slap. She had adequately braced herself for the tremor her pod experienced, but still, seeing and feeling him knock himself to the floor was somewhat jarring. Rather than act startled or annoyed, though, Lydia found herself laughing as William picked himself back up, and rather excitedly at that. "PFFT... HA HA HAAAAA...! O-KAY! HOW DOES IT FEEL?!"

"My face hurts," William bluntly stated, removing his hand, frowning at the bruise underneath. "But I guess that's one hell of a way to sober up."
He turned to Ryan, nodding at the cyborg. "If you wanna get that car contraption started, I guess go ahead. We'll meet ya there okay? Sorry. Just... gonna have to get some ice on this first..."

Lydia smiled at William's reflection, partially to psych herself up, partially out of amusement for her host. "The William Lowe machine... zero defects."
Then, with a deep breath, Lydia leaned back in her seat and rubbed her chin, subtly blocking her headset's microphone with her thumb. "God help us..."
