"... Y'know what? I'm with ya on that. It's fucked-up to think a single, highly paranoid guy slash organization can just kill all the magic in the world."
At least they had a better understanding of each other now. It was comforting, really. "But now, we've just gotta get you out of me. And we're not gonna get anywhere on no sleep, yeah? Just... gotta trust Max and hope I don't fuck up the whole thing?" Well, if Will was nervous, he was certainly hiding it. "But yeah. I don't think any less of you. If anything, that you wanna shut down the whole operation means... well, y'know. I'm not the guy with the pretty face nor the eloquent words."

"Hahah... Hey, I never claimed to be either," Lydia chuckled. It was clear from her tone that a lot of stress had been purged from her system. She was already feeling better, simultaneously more relaxed and more ready than ever to put this botched mission and any more to follow to bed. "It'll be alright, Will. You've slogged through a lot of sh*t today. At this point, I think I can trust you to carry me the rest of the way. But yeah, right now, I think some rest is well deserved. So... what say you, buddy? If you just wanna relax a little before ya sleep, I'd be alright going offline if you need some time to yourself."

"I think some private time will do both of us good." Will yawned... wow, did just talking make him feel tired? Guess he took more after his dad than he thought. "We'll have plenty of time to talk slash argue tomorrow, methinks. So... sleep tight, dream of bratwurst tonight? ... Hey, that's what we said back in Linber."

"Pfft." Lydia's amusement was more from the absurdity of the line than anything. "Yeah. Sounds good. Big day ahead of us. Besides, sleeping in here's gonna be awkward, so I may as well get a head start on it. Um... Maybe try not to roll around too much tonight, huh?"
She chuckled a bit as she reached over, took one last look at her monitor, then turned it off. "Oh, and Will? ......Thanks."

"Hey, I can't stand the thought of just standing by. Maybe Percy's rubbing off on me, but... It just seems wrong to not help." Will pulled up what he was going to guess was a blanket that wasn't riddled with holes or bugs. Leaning back on the couch, his legs actually extended off the couch. "I was gonna say I can't promise no rolling, but looks like I'm gonna be locked in place." He frowned the short couch. "Night... let's see if we can't crack this case tomorrow, yeah?"

"Right on, man." Lydia offered Will a warm smile, hoping the gesture could be felt through her headset. "Night, Will. Signing off."
With that, Lydia turned off her radio, subsequently removing and setting aside the headset. She fiddled with a button on her chair until it allowed her to lean back, albeit about as much as an airplane coach seat. She took one last look out the window at the dark red sky, then she shut down Proteus II's headlights, plunging her world into darkness save for the dim light of several of the pod's instruments.
With a deep breath, Lydia took off her jacket, then covered herself with it again in the form of a makeshift blanket. She sunk into her seat and closed her eyes, waiting for her body to relax and her mind to turn off. The distant, rhythmic booms of Will's heartbeat, steadily slowing as he went still and drifted into a deep slumber of his own, proved rather soothing. It took her a while, but eventually Lydia managed to settle into a cozy position, allowing the comforting darkness to encapsulate her and her ship.
This would be the last time Lydia let anything hold her down. Tomorrow she would get out. Tomorrow she would break free.
