"... I'm ready to go back for now." Val stood up, trying to avoid eye contact. Will followed suit with a concerned expression. "I... I'll be back for the bones in a day or so..."
"You sure?" The snow blew in his face, but Will didn't care. Val needed someone. "I'm willing to stay here as long as you need."
"Yes. If I stay here forever and become an ice sculpture, that'd be spitting in his face." Val closed her eyes, allowing the winds to blow her hair, sprinkling it with diamond dust. "I can't mourn him forever. I have to make that damned dragon pay!" Val slammed her foot down, faintly growling...
The winds picked up, forming a blizzard for a fraction of a second, before settling down.

"I think that would be a good rendezvous point," Scott agreed at the mention of the club. "I mean, we did already agree that we should lay low there. Plus, those two are angels. Wouldn't surprise me if they could point us in the right direction." He folded his arms in contemplation. "I'm not asking for much. Just whatever it takes to lend a hand more effectively."
Paul nodded along with the conversation, clearing hearing every word but keeping his eyes focused on Val. He easily detected the shifting winds and flurry of snow, brief as they were, and they only served to pique his curiosity. He saw how they synced with Val's movements. He felt the unnatural influence in the air. Beneath his coat, he could sense an odd, soothing energy brush along his scales. His heart was pounding, and to his utter bafflement, he swore he could almost subconsciously feel a second, melodic rhythm in the right side of his chest, like the phantom sensations of a body part he did not have in this form.
Every bit of stimuli invigorated Paul. And just like that, he knew what he had to do.
"By my estimate, Vutezoth will be in recovery for at least a day," Paul eventually spoke up, loudly enough for even Will and Val to hear. "I wouldn't put it past him to attack me again tomorrow. If he does... I..."
He took a deep breath and frowned dejectedly at his feet. Sorry, Kelsey, but someone else had to know, if only to offer that much more protection.
"Kelsey won't be able to fight tomorrow. We'd be going in without our trump card. So we'll need to be in peak condition if we're gonna take on the worst of the worst by ourselves. We have no time to waste." Paul slammed his fist into his palm, generating a small burst of static. Again, he didn't seem aware of this. "I want to be prepared to make him feel everything he did to Flint and everything he did to us. So what do you guys say? We up to head down to the club and see if we can't find ourselves?"
Scott offered his brother a hard, determined frown and a nod. "Even if I can't make good on offense against a dragon, I can certainly try to figure out a means to take him down a peg. If you four need to train, then leave the strategy to me."

Ranuen gave a slow nod in answer. The cold was getting to him a little, but he was ignoring it for the moment, as he focused in on the discussion of what to do. "I'll need to track down Leanne then and get to work on seeing if she knows anything." He decided. "Any kind of anti-dragon techniques or whatever...." He growled. "Best shot I've got anyways." He looked at Paul. "As for you.... if you think we've only got a single day... You need to look to find some good protection Paul. Or go deep into hiding." He warned him. "I'll do whatever I can to make sure that the next time that dragon comes along, I'll be ready to hack him down." He sighed. "Either way.... let's start at the Club and work from there." He glanced back at Flint's tomb one last time... and then, after a quick salute, began heading down the mountain.
