Ryan's relief at Percy's intervention began to get cut short, as the beast released the ship and turned around to face the others. "...That's not good." Ryan tried to cry out to the others in warning, but his voice was swallowed up by the shrieking winds as the craft descended. "No, no, no, not this way--" Percy shot an attack at them, and Ryan was thrown to the ground, his cable the only thing that kept him from flying off the vessel entirely. "PERCY STOP! WE'RE YOUR FRIENDS!" He yelled out, struggling for his balance again. "Something's messing with you, you have to throw it off!" Shit, this was really bad. Really, really bad.

"GAAHHH!!!" The jet violently lurched and immediately began a slight roll to the right. Max's heart nearly jumped out of her chest. She scrambled to regain her sweaty palms' grip on the yoke. Even without Will's startled reaction, Max could tell that this wasn't turbulence or a malfunction. Something had hit them.
The jet's instruments quickly alerted her to an engine failure. She spared only a split second to be relieved that the wing that Ryan was on wasn't damaged, but that didn't mean he wasn't in any danger. She couldn't even tell from her position if he was still clinging to them. Will and Lydia weren't exactly in a good spot either, as Max's already shaky confidence in her landing capabilities were about to be severely tested. They were pitching downward at an alarming rate.
"Will! Make sure Ryan's okay and get him back in here! We're going down!!!"

"Sh*t...!" Will's fall effectively shook up Lydia's pod, not to mention her nerves. His startled, confused reaction didn't exactly make her feel better.
She warily checked her monitor. It looked like the cabin was okay, and though the left wing was still intact, Ryan was clinging to it for dear life. The smoke visible through the right windows was definitely further cause for concern. "Engine failure..."
Max ordered Will to get Ryan back inside. No arguments from the micrometer-high club. "You heard the woman, Will!"
---------------------------
"So much for minimizing damage to my favorite jet..." Dr. Michaels grumbled to herself before pushing any further complaints aside. Whatever got those misfits on the ground faster was worth a little collateral. Besides, she couldn't stay mad now that they had some very special help.
Yes, perfect! Ground that jet by any means necessary. Save your friend and bring him to me. I can help him.

"Augh... fucking hell, Percy, is all it takes to win you over a nice set of tits or dick?" Will muttered a few expletives before reaching out the window, looking for the cable that kept Ryan from becoming a pile of whatever he was made of. Ah, there it is! Now he's just gotta pull it in. "Ryan! Hold on, I'm gonna pull you-"
Something rammed into their jet, knocking Will to his knees again. There was a scraping sound from outside, something scraping against metal. A claw, black and easily a foot long, tore into the opposite side of the jet...
A light brown canine-like head poked in through the tear it had created, a pair of horns sprouting from the top of its skull, its long neck covered in a red-violet mane seemingly made out of space dust, partially falling over its pure red, sunken eyes. It seemed to be constantly grinning, exposing a maw of sharp orange teeth.
It roared again. Will slowly got to his feet, his sword materializing in his hand, its creation seemingly slowed by fear-
"B-Back off, Perce! I've got a sword and I'm not hesitant to shove it down your-"

Ryan watched in horror as Percy started ripping into the jet. "PERCY STOP! YOU'RE GOING TO KILL THEM!" He yelled at the beast. Ryan scrabbled over the wing of the jet, forced to keep himself low now, and unable to stand. He had to do something to get Percy away from the jet. Buy them any time whatsoever. Ryan leveled his arm at Percy, from his prone position, the arm starting to glow as an electrical discharge began to build up. This was going to drain a lot of Ryan's battery life, but he could handle it. Ryan focused in on Percy. Then hesitated.
...I can't do it. He thought. He couldn't blast Percy, even to save the lives of everyone on the jet.
....But there was something he could shoot.
Ryan abruptly snapped his arm up towards Cora's own transport. "Fuck you LunArc. Try a taste of your own medicine."
The sky around the jet briefly lit up, as a bolt of electricity erupted from Ryan's arm, nearly blinding the cyborg, blasting straight at the underside of Cora's ship. Red warning lights flashed in Ryan's eyes, indicating the severe drain this had just placed on his battery, but he didn't care. Percy was attacking their jet, but he couldn't protect Cora, and attack them at the same time! ....Right?
Well he hoped so at least.
His shot fired, Ryan began trying to clamber over towards Will. "What are you doing out here Will! It's dangerous! Get back inside!"

"Oh f*ck... oh f*ck..." The turbulence, the structural damage, the sudden impact, the noises she was hearing from the back... not exactly helping Max's struggle to land the jet. She couldn't help but cast a quick glance over her shoulder, and though her view of the monster clawing its way inside was heavily skewed, she saw just enough to elicit a swear loud enough to wake the dead. Part of her wanted to rush back to help Will and Ryan, but her place was in the pilot's seat, ensuring their chances of dying were somewhat lessened.
Although... those guns they stole from LunArc were still lying on the floor just within her peripheral.
In one fluid motion, Max snagged one of the guns with her foot and blindly slid it out of the cockpit and into the cabin, hopefully within Will's reach. Then she went right back to controlling this crumbling lead weight. "HOLD ON!"
The jet was spiraling towards the park, with Max straining to angle it into a proper descent. The landing gear safely deployed, and to her relief, any bystanders below were hastily dashing out of the way, providing the safest possible zone for an emergency landing. Needless to say, though, it was still going to be bumpy.
"Okay, Max... You can do this, you can do this, you can do-ACK!!!"
KER-RAAAAASH
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE
A massive tremor shook the jet and its passengers to their cores. Dirt and debris shot by in a cloud of smoke as the jet tore through the park, wheels tearing through the earth until the underside of the plane itself was gouging a scar across the landscape.

Little more than a faint squeak played in Will's ear as he laid eyes upon the beast currently tearing through the fuselage, granting his passenger a full view. There wasn't really much else Lydia could say. All she could do at that point was question which monster would kill her first.
Of course, the impending crash landing wasn't any less intimidating. Thinking quickly, knowing that it would happen any second now, Lydia took control of Proteus II's mechanized hooks, snagging the ship on the wall of the vein it was drifting through. She reeled the ship in and touched it down on the solid surface, digging it in, securing it to the best of her ability.
"AAH-!" Not a second later, Lydia felt the impact shake Will's body as the jet ungracefully touched down. The turbulence was sickening, and the cacophony of noises the landing generated were not the most encouraging. The flow of blood suddenly grew more intense as Will's pulse skyrocketed, threatening to sweep Proteus II away, but the tiny submersible graciously remained rooted in place as it was mercilessly pounded with plasma and RBCs.
Lydia did not move a muscle until she heard Will's verbal confirmation that he was okay. She exhaled the breath that she had been holding, then she checked her monitor to ensure that Max and Ryan were alright too. She knew that there was a solid chance that the lab was still a trip away, but they were on the ground, and it looked like every one of her friends was in one piece; she had to be grateful for that.
"Will? How're you holding up, buddy?" Lydia anxiously checked her map. The esophagus was just around the bend. Bearing this in mind, she detached the ship and continued on her way down the circulatory highway. "We gotta move."
---------------------------
"Sacrifices must be made... You can repair it..." Dr. Michaels muttered to herself, certainly frustrated but willing to set aside her petty concerns for the sake of the bigger picture. At this rate, Percy would have Will back in her grasp in no time, and the interloping pests would be out of her-
Wait, what was Mr. Summers doing?
"Oh sh*t. EVASIVE MANEUVER!"
The cargo plane swerved. An almighty lightning bolt shot from below and clipped the nose of the plane. Lights flickered within and the cabin shook from the intense turbulence, but as the electricity passed through the wires and out the tail, the passengers seemed unharmed inside the insulated fuselage.
The pilots, however...
Upon quick inspect, Dr. Michaels discovered both of them unconscious. Insult to injury, the instruments were going haywire, equally unresponsive. The doctor swore under her breath and took the helm herself, but combining the lack of cooperation from the controls and her present state making manual flight difficult, she could quickly tell that this was not going to be a smooth ride.
"Damn it all...! Everyone strap in! We're going down!!!"
BZZZAP
And not a second after she said that, the plane suddenly stopped going down. Or forward. Or in any direction.
The world outside was shrouded in a blue light that surrounded the plane in its entirety, holding it in place, a cord of the foreign energy extending from the craft.
Needless to say, Dr. Michaels was stupefied by the phenomenon. "My word... Is this...?"
---------------------------
"BOOM! ZERO! POINT! ENERGY! GUN!!!"
Cat stood triumphantly atop the camper van as it hovered in place several dozen yards away from the aircraft. Her paws gripped the controls of her latest invention propped atop the van, one that could only be described as a turret gun slapped together from bits and pieces of toy guns, computers, bicycles, and maybe a waffle iron. The cord of blue energy extended from the barrel of this gun, thrumming with a deep bass, holding the plane still.
"I told ya this was gonna be the big one!" Cat hollered to her teammates through their open windows. "Now let's reel these suckers in for a nice, soft landing!"

"Eh... I'm not impressed!" Mickey hollered back to Cat, watching with furrowed eyelids as the beam of blue light helmed by his teammate lowered the plane towards the ground. "My balls remain thoroughly unblown! Maybe invent me a gun that turns sunlight into dragons, then we'll talk!"
He steadily drove the camper van towards the park, guiding the plane to safety. The other jet, the one that Percy had attacked, was lying in a half-wrecked heap not too far away from where the two crafts gently touched down; it was probably best to leave the villains of the week to the big guy. Once the camper van was parked in the grass and the zero-point energy was dispelled, Mickey was quick to exit the driver's seat and dash over to the plane alongside Cat, eager to get their half of the ordeal over with.
With vampiric pep in his step, Mickey hurled himself onto the nose of the plane and cast a wild grin through the window. "Howdy-ho, hotshots! We got some unfinished business with...!"
When Mickey saw the people inside, however, he was promptly taken aback. These weren't the same people they rescued yesterday. Actually, that green one in the back looked like...
"Wait..."

Well, that was what Will's jumbled thoughts sounded like as this infernal flying contraption was struck and began what he assumed was a very irregular landing. He made a funny whimpering sound, pulling his legs to his chest, face between his knees. "O-Oh gods... If I die here, please tell all the girls I've ever loved I, uh, loved them! Val, Maria, Val, Tara, Bianca, Gerta the Goatmilker, Old Mae, Sally, Val..."
Percy, sensing the jet's imminent failure to remain in the sky, let it go, following it downward, astral feathers scattering from his wings...
---
"... I'm just glad my insurance policy at least covers sudden sky transportation vehicle failures."
Liderc allowed the fiery shield he had put up to protect himself from whatever the bloody fuck had hit them to lower, revealing a very deadpan expression. Ah, the furries again. Especially the scavenging masked beast one. On a list of people he would have liked to see, this one would be on a... rather different one.
He called the green flames back into his palms, creating two fireballs. "I see you're back. A pity this time, I claim victory."
He calmly exited the cockpit, still maintaining his deadpan face even as he looked around at this oh-so-flammable environment. With the practiced aim of one who has probably committed petty arson a few two many times, Liderc tossed one of the green fireballs, swerving around the vampire raccoon, and going for their flying rectangle.
---
"... Ah! Am I alive?! ... Ow! ... Unfortunately, it seems as though the answer is yes! Wait, why can't I see? Where are my glasses?!"
As Will took in the disgusting miracle of still being alive, he fumbled around, looking for his missing vision aids. It took him a minute to realize that they were still on his head. Muttering to himself, he took in the miracle of actually being able to see. "M-Max? Ryan? Please, guys, say something! We're so close! C-C'mon! Please!" He ran up to the petite woman, only to jump back at hearing another roar and feeling a sudden energy buildup from outside.
---
Percy opened his mouth, an orb of darkness forming within his gaping maw, growing in size. From this altitude, he might miss and make sexy scientist lady mad, but hey. At least this would slow down Will's kidnappers.
With a roar, he unleashed a stream of darkness from his mouth, the purple flame-like substance solidifying to laser precision, tearing a small canyon between the camper van and the downed jet, forming a near-perfect circle around the former...

Ryan grinned a little at the results of his lightning cannon. What do you know? There's perks after-all. He thought, regarding his condition. Something else had hit the ship as well, but Ryan barely had any chance to take a look, before Max's piloting skills brought their jet to a complete halt in the most dramatic of fashions.
"Oh man." The crash hurled Ryan from the wing of the machine. The cable he'd attached held steady, but in the crash, the wing itself did not, and a fragment of the wing broke away under the strain of having a 300+ pound cyborg use it as an anchor. Ryan went flying, and collided with a nearby tree, splintering it. Sensors went haywire, red lights flashing in Ryan's eyes to warn him of the damage his body had just withstood. But he was conscious. He could move. Ryan lowered himself from the tree, moving slowly at first to make sure none of his locomotion was affected by the crash. He saw the crash and heard someone shouting. Shit. Ryan turned into a sprint at the jet.
"Max! Will!?" He heard Will's voice. "Will! I'm over here!" Ryan cried out as he sped towards the jet, running to its back entrance. "Max! Can you hear us!? Are you alright!?" He didn't know where Percy had gotten to, and his panic was causing him to tunnel vision, not even looking for the mind controlled friend that had caused their crash in the first place. Hopefully, not a mistake that would be costly to the group...

"Nice work, Cat!" Rio called through the passenger side window. "Now bring them down gently! Try not to jostle everyone too much!"
This had certainly been one heck of a wild goose chase. Percy's transformation was already a lot to take in, but following him was no simple task, never mind trying to hunt down Will's plane with him. By the time the Trio of Three caught up to the chimeric beast, he was already attacking one plane while being trailed by another. It seemed like the people after Will and his little friend had not lost an ounce of their persistence since yesterday.
Leaving Percy to deal with the more threatening of the two carriers, Rio watched with bated breath as Mickey parked the camper van and Cat lowered the plane to safety. The mage held for a moment, simply stepping out of the vehicle as Mickey dashed ahead to greet the crew.
His reaction was... not promising. "Mickey? What's...?"
Then Rio spotted the green angel exiting the plane, and he immediately realized that they had frigged up.
"YOU...!"
---------------------------
For a while, even long after the jet had stopped moving, Max stayed glued to her seat, petrified with shock, eyes wide, heart racing, hands practically bending the yoke beneath their locked grip. She couldn't think straight at first, very slowly coming to the realization that she was still alive. The first sensation she became aware of was the churning in her stomach, prompting her to fight the urge to vomit. The vertigo followed in short order, but Max pushed past it and finally willed herself to move, prying her hands free, unbuckling herself, and picking up the second gun.
At a quick cursory glance, it seemed like Percy was gone, giving Max leeway to breathlessly dash back into the cabin, meeting Will halfway. Clearly he was recovering from his own panic attack, not that Max could blame him. She could freely admit that their landing could have been smoother, but she saw no sense in chastising herself now. At least they were alive.
"I-I'm fine." Max nodded to Will, then glanced out the window. She briefly choked on her own air when she saw the jet's broken wing, only to then sigh with tremendous relief when she spotted Ryan running their way, calling out to them, looking battered but thankfully none too worse for wear. "Oh thank God... Ryan! We're okay!"
With that assurance, Max forced open the door, anxious to proceed despite the circumstances. Perhaps surviving death had triggered an adrenaline rush. Maybe she had reached a breaking point, angering her enough to square off against these jokers. Either way, Max was armed and ready to see this mission through by any means. She only paused to look back at Will over her shoulder. "H-How are you guys? How's Lydia??"
Before she could receive an answer, Max instinctively flinched from the sound of a nearby roar...
---------------------------
Rio dashed around the camper van and cast an abjuration spell. A semi-transparent cyan force shield sprung to life in front of the van. Liderc's fireball collided with the light, spraying tongues of green flame in all directions before both fire and shield dissipated in a shower of embers. From there, Rio stood his ground, casting a dangerous scowl at the angel. "Okay, buster, where is Will?!"
A familiar roar drew Rio's attention away from Liderc. His head snapped to the side, catching sight of Percy charging up a breath attack, pointed in his direction.
"W-?! PERCY, NO!"
Rio jumped back and pressed himself against the camper, dodging the flames that quickly gouged out a trench around the vehicle. He hastily threw his hand up and cast another spell, ensnaring Percy's arms, legs and muzzle in binding rings of pure force. "Percy, what're you doing?! What's wrong?!"

Lydia smiled at her monitor, relieved to see Max and Ryan. Then, with her destination one quick micro-incision away, she landed the pod once again and cut herself free herself from the vein, offering a response to Max's inquiry all the while. "I'm fine. A little shook up, but still intact. Where are we, Will? How far are we from the lab??"
That noise echoing through her headset was not the response she was hoping for. "Um... Okay, exactly how f*cked are we, on a scale of one to teen mom?"
---------------------------
"And that is how we do that," Cat mused, smugly leaning against her ZPE gun as she watched Mickey charge at the plane. Finally, the butt-kicking could commence in full. Percy had started the fun without them, the lovable maniac. She was eager to join in now that no one was at risk of death; only pain and humiliation.
Mickey's reaction to the people inside put a damper on things.
Will wasn't in there.
"Lemme guess." Cat's ears flattened. "We saved the wrong plane."
Sure enough, the green prick from yesterday stepped out of the plane and shot flames at the camper van. Rio took the initiative, blocking the attack. Percy, very apparently off his rocker, a-fired his laser at the camper van, separating it from the surrounding landscape. In the meantime, Cat was quick to whip out Goldenhand and take a stance, ready to charge at the next sign of attack. "Hey now, how about a thank you for getting you back on land in one heckin' piece?! Not even an acknowledgement of how awesome my gun is?! RUDE!"
"Oh, wonderful... The junk rat."
Cat perked up with surprise, watching as a second passenger walked out behind Liderc. A human. A very nice-looking human woman, adorned with a maroon dress, a white lab coat, and a conspicuous headband decorated with tiny bits of hardware. Everything about her expression and stance were stern and domineering; she carried herself with an unmistakable air of confidence, clearly telegraphing who was in charge...
But... she was... so... small! Just barely reaching above two and a half feet!
"So!" Cat resumed her stance, ready to swing, but couldn't stop herself from smirking. "You must be the one leading this whole operation! Nice to meet ya! You're shorter than I expected!"
Dr. Michaels simply cast a hard frown at the anthro and raised a hand...
"W-WHOOOAAAAAAAAAAAA...!!!"
A psychic force hurled Cat high into the air, dropping her head-over-heels into the trench dug by Percy's breath attack.

"DYGH...!!!" Mickey cringed and slipped off the nose of the plane, splatting ungracefully in the grass, as Liderc shot a fireball at the camper van. He sat up with slack-jawed shock as the beast that they had followed this way, the newfound friend with beautifully rambunctious capacity, tore a hole in the earth with his breath, missing the van but effectively stranding it on a makeshift island.
The vampire raccoon's blood red eyes turned pitch black. "OH, YOU DONE DID IT NOW."
Mickey reached inside his shirt and procured what looked to be a smoke bomb. Fittingly enough, he threw it on the ground, releasing a massive burst of a black, ashy substance that filled the surrounding fifty-yard radius with artificial darkness in a matter of seconds.
The sound of a gun cocking echoed through the black, the direction of its origin difficult to discern.
"I am going to kill you... and then kill you again!"

"How can you kill someone that's already dead? ... I suppose my philosophical waxings are lost on one with fur for a thought centre."
Whatever, Liderc was still obligated to help the doctor out, if only for the sake of getting off this miserable island. He might as well amuse himself a bit in the process. Sighing, he summoned his naginata to hand, placing one foot on his opposite thigh, and began to spin, green flames building up around him, lighting up this infernal darkness that the sanguivorous scavenging masked beast man had called forth. Now, if only the god-killing space chimera bullshit thing would get the hint.
Percy glanced down with red, empty eyes, blinking at the binds on his limbs and muzzle. He growled at the mage, baring what teeth he could, before whipping around with a jump, lashing out with his short, conelike tail. He felt the restraints weakening, and he flapped his wings.
"WHERE IS WILL?! GET OUT OF MY WAY!! I'M TRYING TO SAVE MY FRIEND!!"
"Then actually get the blonde buffoon."
Liderc was not getting paid nearly enough to deal with this shit.
---
"Will is here but he doesn't know what the fuck he's actually doing anymore," Will squeaked out in response to the probably-brainwashed Percy, who judging by the sounds, was causing quite a bit of havoc.
He stopped only to frown a bit at what Lydia said. "Lydia... wants to know how fucked we are on a scale of, I quote, one to teen mum. I'd say we're at preteen mum if we stay." He shook his head, bringing a palm to his forehead. At least he wasn't bleeding. "M-Max, Ryan, listen. I think now's the best chance to get the fuck outta here while they're distracted with whoever's over there..."
He winced a bit at the noises outside the downed metal flying contraption. "Hurry. Please. For Lydia."

Ryan glanced back at the mayhem going on so very, very close to them. "Max! I'm glad you're alright." He commented, looking at the jet. "Everyone's okay? Nobody's injured?" Present company excluded, Ryan's own body was showing signs of damage from being flung off the wing, and his metal chassis was beginning to show quite visibly through the skin of his arms and torso. "All things considered I'd say you did a pretty good job of landing this thing." He mentioned.
Then Percy let out the roar, looking for Will and Ryan flinched. "Alright! So we're.... we're running? Okay? We have to get Lydia back to her dad immediately. Let's go!" Without waiting for either of the two to consent, Ryan ran towards both of them and grabbed them, looping an arm around Will's waist first, then Max, and using his cybernetics enhanced strength, lifted both of them over his shoulders and tried to make a break for it.
"Will, just keep an eye out to make sure Percy doesn't track us down...." There was a lot going on, and Ryan already knew that they could be caught trying to leave very easily.
