The translation are things I totally see Yuugi saying if he could express himself this well. He'd do anything for his friends and wants to give them every bit of support he can. He'd sacrifice his own happiness for his friends, even though he often isn't aware that his inner-strength reaches this level. Plus, the singer sounds very "Yuugi"-ish to me.

The translated lyrics has a lot of emotional depth and a bit of baggage to it. I feel this helps reflect the depth Atem has a character. He's so incredibly strong, but he has a turmoil of emotions. Unlike Yuugi, Atem wears his strength on the outside and the weakness on the inside. It shows Atem's resolve to go forward no matter what comes his way and that he lives for the experience of it as much as for the life.
The "weakness" it reveals shows that Atem and Yuugi have a heck of a lot in common, as well.
