Full Name: Riordan Lucilius Darwin VonFelden
Nickname(s): Rio
Age: 19
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 150 lbs.
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Good
Home: WAS Magias, Olde; now anywhere in the World
Franchise: Let's Save the World! (Original Story)
Physical Description
Rio is rather tall, though no more so than a man his age, and has the limbs of a twig; he could easily be mistaken for a lady at first glance. He has light skin, shoulder-length auburn-brown that is usually in a ponytail with limply hanging bangs, blue-green eyes and delicate features. He wears a green tunic with yellow trim and a yellow sash, brown pants, brown boots, and oftentimes a tote that he carries his spell books on. Also, he wears a gold chain necklace covered in runes that must never be removed.
Weapons
He's often content to fight without a weapon, but he sometimes wields a staff to safely and effectively utilize his magic. He can also summon swords/daggers/etc. to aid in close-range combat.
Abilities/Powers
Rio possesses phenomenal control over arcane magic. His abilities are divided into eight classes:
Abjuration: Spells that protect, block, harm or banish.
Conjuration: Spells that summon creatures and/or materials.
Divination: Spells that reveal information.
Enchantment: Spells that imbue the recipient with some property or grant the caster power over another being.
Evocation: Spells that manipulate energy or create something from nothing.
Illusion: Spells that alter perception or create false images.
Necromancy: Spells that manipulate, create, or destroy life and/or life force.
Transmutation: Spells that transform the recipient physically or alter its properties.
Skills
Along with his knowledge of magic, Rio is skilled in science, history and mythology. He is great at researching, strategizing and problem-solving, and can easily handle himself in battle. He's also a decent cook and mandolin player.
Personality
Rio is the straight man of the team, often acting as the brain and the emotional crutch. While he's usually very calm and composed, even under pressure, he does sometimes display a short fuse and can easily become frustrated or high-strung, especially when he's annoyed or doesn't understand what the heck is going on. He may be diplomatic and by the book, but this doesn't stop him from enjoying his new friends' company and keeping an open mind.
History
Riordan was born and raised in Magias, capital of the country of Olde. For reasons unknown, his body produces hazardous amounts of magical energy, so much so that his mere birth levelled half the city and turned his mother into an elephant. As a child, any time he displayed powerful emotions, he expelled magical discharge that caused varying degrees of mayhem. Because of this, he was given a gold, magic-stabilizing necklace that keeps his powers under control and was forced to enroll in mage college at the early age of eight (most don't start until they're thirteen). Partway through his training, he was given a Chaos Owl as a birthday gift; he named her Eris, and her energy-channeling capabilities allowed her to act as a secondary means of controlling Riordan's excess magic.
Despite the threat of instability, he proved to be a very skilled mage, passing all of his tests with ease and finally graduating as valedictorian after the required ten years of school. Upon becoming an official mage, Riordan set out into the World with Eris to find his lot in life. However, on his way to Metropolis, he just so happened to come across a coyote-weasel-robin anthro named Cat, who stuck around long enough to nickname him Rio and make him aware that Boom Flowers (plants that contain pandemonium energy) have started to appear outside their native island, a sign that the End of the World is soon to come. Because of this, the two formed an uneasy friendship and ventured out to destroy the flowers and prevent the apocalypse. Along the way, they gained a third companion, the vampire raccoon anthro Mickey. Now Rio and the rest of the Trio of Three spend their days travelling the World on their quest to save it... though Rio does NOT agree with Cat's plans to establish anarchy.
Other
If Rio's necklace is ever removed, he'll lose control of his magic. Also, he has trained himself to speak in a modern-day dialect, though his natural, Olde dialect sometimes slips and is difficult to understand.
