Full Name: Admiral Bobbery
Nickname(s): Admiral, Old Sea Legs, Old Sea Dog, (Blame Yoshi for these next few ones...XP) Beardy, Gramps, Old Man, Nutcase
Age: Quite old. We're assuming over 50 years.
Height: Slightly larger than an average Bob-omb size
Weight: Light enough for Mario to lift him. *Shrugs*
Gender: Male
Race: Bob-omb
Alliance: Good
Home: The sea since he literally travels on it everyday...but in specific, he lives in a house on the far east side of the main town of Rogueport.
Franchise: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Physical Description
Always wears a saggy, white and blue admiral hat (has a stitched patch on a high side on it, and a gold emblem with an anchor symbol). Dark brown color for his, um..."skin tone"? Blue shoes. One yellow eye is always shown since his hat always covers his other...Who knows. Maybe he lost it! A fuse hangs off from the top his head that pokes out of his hat (sparks whenver he's about to ignite). Instead of having a normal wind-up as any average bob-omb would have, Bobbery has a boat helm instead and it continuously spins whenever he is mobile. Lastly, he has a rather large, light gray mustache.
Weapons
Erm...Methinks bob-ombs aren't normally armed with that sort of stuff, if you know what I mean.
Abilities/Powers
Bobbery has the same ability as any other bob-omb has...Oh, by Blabberton's Beard. If you don't what that is, it's blowing up, for Cortez's sake. With his blast ability, he can blow through his surroundings (including walls, enemies, objects, even Mario when he's not paying attention. XD) He also comes with his own separate abilities:
Bomb: a simple explosion against one ground-bound enemy.
Bomb Squad: Bobbery tosses in mini bombs that ignite after a certain time sequence.
Hold Fast: Bobbery charges up his explosion and whenever anyone comes to attack him (or even come in contact in any sort of way.) Bobbery will immediately ignite on them. (So even if it's an accident, keep your distance when he's doing this!)
Bob-ombast: A massive explosion that can bomb a huge amount of enemies.
Skills
Bobbery is often great at convincing others to take actions (mostly by his forceful word usage.). He is also known to be great at encouraging others. Bobbery also is more than above average when it comes to his bombing skills. Probably the most dangerous known bob-omb in Rogueport!
Personality
Well, like most bob-ombs anyone would meet, Bobbery is awfully hot headed...Actually, he's even more angered than normal bob-ombs. This is noticed by his many choices of abussive words or quotes (And half of the words he blabbers probably won't even make sense.). However, something that can equal out this temper is his kindness and polite personality. (Evidence? Well, when Mario kindly asks the old sea dog to aid him by his navigation upon the sea, Bobbery kindly refused as a first answer...Unfortunately, Mario wasn't someone who would take "no" for an answer, so let's just say it didn't end up too well when he continued to push his buttons.) And underneath all the temper, Bobbery has a soft side. Especially for those cares for most...*coughcoughScarlettecough*
Bobbery is also seen to be loyal to his closest companions and is willing to take on any fights ahead of him. He's got more confidence you'll ever think! And if you don't believe me about the part about him being loyal, you might wanna talk to 'ol Gulliver from Animal Crossing to assure that.
And when it comes to 'ol Bobbery, there is no sign of fear in this bob-omb! He'll remain courageous whenever times call for it!
History
Greatest sailor in all of Rogueport! The fiercest Sea Dog upon the seas! That was Bobbery for you. If there was anyone who would be on the seas everyday he lived, it would be Bobbery. He took his identity as the greatest navigator anyone would meet in Rogueport. And because of his bravery and identity of being the most familiar sailor of the sea, he became a legend upon Rogueport.
Unfortunately, all Legends have their fall. And that's what happened to the admiral after he returned from a rather long quest upon the sea during a rather cold winter. The old sea bob-omb has lost his life when he returned...or this is what everyone assumed. Thing is, he didn't show his face ever since his brave return. Well, there was only one way to find this out if it is what actually happened. Especially for a certain red plumber who was in need of a navigator to reach Keelhaul Key to find yet another Crystal Star.
Mario, hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, Goombella, a smart yet sassy student of the University of Goom, Koops, a cowardly and shy koopa from the peaceful town of Petalburg, Madam Flurrie, a graceful wind spirit from the dept of the Boggly Woods, [Instert Yoshi's name here], a scrappy yoshi kid hatched by Mario in the Glitz Pit, Vivian, a shy yet sweet shadow who was originally a member of the villainous Shadow Sirens, and Ms. Mowz, a rather flirtatious mouse of a thief, were in search of a navigator more beyond the average skill to assist them into reaching Keelhaul Key, supposedly the home of a dead pirate known as Cortez. After hearing the rumors of a legendary Admiral that was more than qualified for the job, Mario and his companions set off to search for the bob-omb who has supposedly "disappeared". However, after gathering evidence from all over Rogueport, Mario finally met the Admiral face to face. However, his spirits were more crushed than anyone ever expected as the declined the request to set off to sea. For he came to the conclusion that he would set off to the sea nevermore...
The reason of this was revealed as Mario gained even more evidence from Rogueport. Bobbery, strangely enough for his fierce appearance and identity, was married. Yes. He was madly in love with a lovely bob-omb named Scarlette as she shared the same feelings for him as well. If there was anything or anyone that would equal his love for the sea, it was her. She would kindly await for his return after any voyage taken...Unfortunately, during a very long and cold winter, it wasn't the case. Bobbery went off on a rather long voyage compared to his other ones and Scarlette awaited for his return. Alas, her life did not last long as she caught a sickness...No one knew how, but the only thing known about it is that is wasn't going to be merciful on Scarlette's short life. Upon Bobbery's return, he was too late to recieve a warm greeting from his dear wife. For her life was longer in her grasp.
Bobbery, deeply saddened and scarred by this gloomy realization, blamed himself and went into a long depression and locked himself in, regretting his decision to ever go out on such a long voyage. This led him to decide to no longer travel on the sea. He would even attempt to drown out his sorrows or simply grieve by going to the bar here and there. However, after this story was revealed to Mario, he was given a letter, written by a dying Scarlette, specifically for Bobbery. After receiving the last words of his wife from Mario, Bobbery finally realized that Scarlette wished for more from Bobbery rather than how he was from his current state of depression and sadness. After rejuvenating his spirits from reading the words of the letter, Bobbery travels on the sea with Mario and his crew to shove right off to Keelhaul Key!
This voyage later became an ambush as ghosts ceased the ship. Bobbery, along with two other members of the crew, were found missing. After Mario arrived to Keelhaul Key from the harsh night, he and his party find Bobbery and the other two members being ambushed by the same ghosts. Bobbery, willing to sacrifice his own life, tells the two companions to flee so he could take them on. After this brave action, Mario and his friends return to rescue an exhausted and supposedly dying Bobbery. As his last request, the admiral asked of his last possession, his Chuckola Cola before passing away. After retrieving this, Admiral Bobbery lets his grasp go and falls into a deep sleep...but not deep enough. He was actually simply snoozing away. After a rude awakening by Mario, Bobbery comes to the quick conclusion to accompany Mario to continue the search of the crystal star.
After doing so, Mario suspected that the revived legend of the sea would return to his old life and be on the sea every day after finding the crystal star. However, seeing that Mario wishes to reunite with his true love, Bobbery decides to stick with Mario until he fulfills this desire. After doing so successfully, Mario leaves Roguetown with his farewells and Bobbery resumes to his life as the legend of the seas of Rogueport as his dear wife, Scarlette, watches him from above.
But the seas gave Bobbery more than the widths of Rogueport to travel to. After a rather long voyage across the rough seas, Bobbery gets caught up in a unmerciful storm. After waking up from this wild storm, he finds himself on the unknown destination of Dimensional Island. Strangely enough, his ship was unharmed! But getting off the island wasn't going to be so easy. After finding that when was literally surrounded by the unkind seas around him, Bobbery sets foot into the deeper destinations of Dimensional Island to get more clues to find a way out of this predicament.
