However, I pack some pretty decent muscle so that’s something to look for. Also, since I’m a fishwoman, I have grey skin that can kinda look blue-ish in certain lights, some gills on my neck which let me breath underwater, my gilly ears which, I GUESS, lets me be more aware of my surroundings, and with red hair that I normally keep tied up in my kickbutt ponytail. Still, magically creating spears ain’t the only thing I can do… If I FULL WELL WANTED TO, I also possess a powerful ability that would freeze you on the spot, allowing me to storm you on all sides with my SPECIAL made spears~. But hey, I’m not cheap. I let you have the option of spinning around in your confinement, and I let you carry a shield so you can defend yourself~. REALLY IF YOU GET YOURSELF OFFED BY ME IN THIS POSITION, It’s more YOU’RE fault then mine. It’s not MY fault you can’t stand up for yourself like a man~!”

ACTUALLY, as much as she may not want to admit it, particularly to herself, Undyne is actually very naieve to the human world, her only real exposure to it being anime that she watches frequently with Alphys and the 6 humans that descended into the monster world before that she’s had to kill. Along with that, her competitive nature CAN get the better of her in VARIOUSLY massive ways. Literally the only reason why she befriends Frisk in the game, even after being thoroughly humiliated by him in the pacifist route, is because Papyrus, unwittingly, mentions that befriending Frisk at that point would be a great challenge…
Needless to say, she took that challenge. And then her house burned down. Yeah, this psycho can get pretty damned intense at times.
Skills
Along with fighting, hunting, jumping great distances and even WRESTLING (Seriously, she suplexes a FRICKING BOULDER JUST CAUSE SHE CAN and invites a bunch of ghosts to wrestle with her as well), and in spite of her main occupation as the head knight of the Royal Guard, Undyne is also a pretty good chef as well, and favors cooking pasta and preparing tea. When she gets into the zone however her cooking style can come off as somewhat intense, especially to her subordinates.
Along with this, she is well known as a leader. In numerous endings she either ends up leading the Underground herself or even raises rebellions against the powers that does. Charisma is one of Undyne’s natural characteristics… Along with one other thing.
Perhaps the most unique ability that Undyne possesses is a powerful capability that separates her from just about every other Monster in the Underground. In her world, monsters are purely magical beings made physical only by their sheer capability with energy. Humans meanwhile are not magical and are made up of 70% water, making their forms much more concrete. This allows humans to use a powerful energy known in the world of Undertale as Determination. Determination, as the name suggests, is the will to go on, the will to fight on in spite of overwhelming odds, or bleak outcomes. With this energy, one human is enough of a match for an entire army of monsters by himself; and as much as a monster may want to match this, Determination if poisonous to monsters.
Undyne however is a monster that seems to be NATURALLY INCLINED to determination. Or at least, she is in certain situations. It is yet unknown if she could safely use it, but for now, she will be thankful that her attacks, as well as her own body will be made physical by a magical energy that is inherent on Dimensional Island. Thanks to this energy, she is now nowhere near as brittle as she was back home, and could concievably take much more punishment then she ever could before. Still… Who knows? Maybe this Determination energy might come into play one day….
Personality
She is strong-willed and confident as a result of her training under King Asgore. Braggadocios, and unmerciful to her enemies, she over-zealously believes in Asgore Dreemurr and his plan to capture seven souls in order to break the barrier and escape the Underground. She has a competitive spirit, but is ultimately close with those that she considers friends. She has deep-seated respect for Asgore, and romantic feelings for Alphys who has warped her perception of human history and culture due to her only exposure through the Eight Humans and anime.
History
She will often proclaim herself as a badass since day 1, born and raised to be the captain of the Royal Guard… However one human got the great honor of learning the real truth one day, and the real truth is as such…
Undyne was born a very short-tempered and aggressive little kid whom like picking fights with the neighborhood bullies and beat up anyone that dared stand up to her. One day, just to prove that she was the strongest monster in the Underground, she managed a trip to ‘Home’ and directly challenged King Asgore himself to a fight… However, the encounter ended in utter humiliation for Undyne, whom was completely incapable of landing a single blow on him, and worse yet, the pacifistic king refused to fight back at all, apologizing profusely for even frustrating her with the fight.
While she was intensely humiliated by the experience however, King Asgore offered to teach the girl about ‘how to beat him in a fight’ and took Undyne under his wing, training her in the art of combat, magical usage, and hand-to-hand weaponry. When at last Undyne reached her goal and was able to knock King Asgore down (To which she notes she felt bad for doing so), Asgore, rather then being angry, beamed proudly and continued training her until he finally appointed her as leader of the Royal Guard, giving her the important job of training other newbie monsters like she once was so they could protect themselves and their realm.
During her years performing this job, she got to meet a number of monsters, from the geeky and extremely shy Alphys, teaching piano to Shyren, and, eventually meeting the ever hopeful and persistent Papyrus whom wished to join the Royal Guard (Though she continually turns him down. Not because he wasn’t strong or lacked potential, but because he was too nice and didn’t deserve to have that innocence corrupted with battle or war). Instead, under the notion of taking him under her wing anyway, Undyne decided to teach him how to cook, so he could potentially have something else to do with his life. Along with Papyrus’ cooking practice, she also spent a great deal of time with Alphys, learning about the human world with her by watching INNUMERABLE cartoons and anime.
In the True Pacifist ending, she and Alphys are often noted to hang out with each other, normally around beaches where Undyne was closest to water and, thus, more comfortable. It wasn’t like Alphys minded so long as you gave her an electronic device to tinker with, or a new ‘history book’ to read. She still remains friends with Frisk, though she finds him every bit as much of a ‘Weenie’ as King Asgore.
