Full Name: Cereza
Nickname(s): Bayonetta (what she normally goes by)
Age: 604
Height: Very tall
Weight: Somewhat light-weight.
Gender: Female
Race: Umbra Witch
Alliance: Neutral
Home: New York City/Vigrid
Franchise: Bayonetta
Physical Description
See the picture. Bayonetta is a very tall leggy woman with black hair, silver eyes, and a stylized pair of glasses. She wears high heels with an added purpose, and also wears what looks like a skintight bodysuit (which is actually her hair, shaped using her magic.)
Weapons
Bayonetta has access to a large arsenal of weaponry courtesy of Rodin, though as of right now, without access to the Gates of Hell, she is currently just with her guns, a set of four weapons named Love is Blue. She holds two in her hands and has two attached to her high heels, which is useful for her acrobatic Gunkata fighting style.
Abilities/Powers
Being an Umbra Witch, Bayonetta has powers beyond normal human limits. She is physically very strong, agile, and has powerful magic. She can brew up various creations using Umbran Witch recipes, and under the moon's light, especially during a full moon, she can walk on walls, can create barriers...
Her most potent abilities, however, are her ability to summon various Infernal Demons (which also is how her Wicked Weave attacks and other 'Punish' tools manifest), using various Enochian incantations, and her Witch Time ability. She can activate it using the energy from perfectly evading attacks (with less effectiveness/duration if she dodges poorly), though it only will affect the opponent she dodges. She can also push herself to use it for purposes such as intense movement in short periods of time, though sufficiently strong opponents can resist or even ignore its effects.
She has access to transformations, known as Beast Within. Panther Within lets her run at high speed and jump quite far, Crow Within gives her flight ability and lets her summon feathers to attack with, Bat Within lets Bayonetta reduce damage she does take by splitting into bats (and occasionally allows her to activate Witch Time), and Snake Within lets her swim at high speed.
She has other various Umbra Witch combat abilities such as her Slide/Afterburner Kick and Witch Twist, which improves her combat capabilities, allowing for some elegant combination attacks.
In more detail...
Witch Twist is a rising uppercut, which, when given a boost of her magic power, creates a Wicked Weave, knocking enemies skyward where Bayonetta can further combo them.
Heel Slide is a sliding kick on the ground, supplemented by fire from her heel guns; she uses it as a gap closer and can do a kick upward at the end to launch opponents. She leaves a trail of blue flame when she does this.
Afterburner Kick is an upwards-or-downwards arcing kick engulfed in blue flame.
Umbran Portal Kick is a technique in which she draws a portal underneath her, dives through, then crashes into the ground from above, posing.
Break Dance is fairly self-explanatory; she spins around on her back, firing all her weapons around her, ending with a pose.
Stiletto is a punch variant of Heel Slide, allowing her to close distance.
Tetsuzanko is a full-power shoulder charge that can summon a Wicked Punch with magic charge.
Heel Stomp is a downward kick variant of Tetsuzanko, calling in Madama Butterfly to stomp downward.
Umbran Spear is a gap-closing technique using Crow Within; Bayonetta transforms into a crow and charges her enemy.
Finally, if she uses a lot of magical power, Bayonetta can temporarily, in lieu of one of her Torture Attacks, enter a super-powered mode known as 'Umbran Climax', in which all her attacks get boosted by the power of her Infernal Demons, much like her Wicked Weaves.
Weaknesses
Bayonetta herself -can- be defeated, and if she were to die, the demon she made her contract with, Madama Butterfly, will get her soul.
Skills
Bayonetta is extremely agile, and she is a very good dancer.
Personality
She is rather rude at times, crude, and very sexual. Some might even call her a walking talking innuendo. She likes sweets like lollipops (very small ones) and enjoys a nice drink from time to time. She also enjoys messing with people, as seen with Luka during her adventures.
History
500 years ago there lived two clans in Europe. The Umbra Witches, dwellers of the darkness, and their light-world counterparts, the Lumen Sages. The clans respected each other and their laws, balancing each other out. One day, that balance was toppled. There was a sacred law between the clans, they could not have a child with one another. Rosa, an Umbra Witch, and a Lumen Sage, conceived a child, Cereza. The man was exiled from his clan and the woman was put in jail, but the child remained with the Umbra raised like a black sheep. The child made a friend named Jeanne. They used to play together until Jeanne became the Umbran Heiress, but to prove she deserved to rule the Umbra she was to choose an opponent to fight her for the most beloved of Umbran treasures, The Left Eye of the World. She chose Cereza, but it was forbidden for she was of impure blood. Jeanne said it was not the first time they fought each other, so the two fought and Jeanne was defeated. Soon after that, Jeanne was ordered to seal away Cereza in order to stop her from awakening the Left Eye which would summon Jubileus, the Creator. Jeanne also killed Cereza's mother, then she stabbed Cereza in the heart sealing her away into a 500 year slumber. Before she was put in a slumber in the bottom of a lake in a coffin, a war had started between the two clans leaving the Umbra victorious. Then, years after the war, the last Lumen Sage, Balder, encouraged the people, with their uncertainty of the witches to start the witch hunts, over years, killing all the Umbra Witches. All but two: Bayonetta and Jeanne.
Bayonetta awoke 500 years later with no memories. All she knew was a bit about who she was, her 'Left Eye of the World' pendant, and that to keep her demon 'patrons' happy, she needed to kill angels and take their halos. Eventually, a human contact of hers, Enzo, got word to her about a gemstone called the 'Right Eye of the World', which she believed was the counterpart to her own pendant and held the key to getting her memories back. So, she went to Vigrid, the City of Deja Vu, to find the Right Eye.
In reality, Bayonetta herself was the Left Eye. Balder was the Right, and he intended to use her to awaken the goddess Jubileus, the Creator, to remake the world how he wished. Bayonetta defeated Balder, and then killed Jubileus by summoning the demoness Queen Sheba along with Jeanne, who Bayonetta had broken from her mind control earlier (and who had rescued her) Afterward, Bayonetta returned back to New York with Jeanne, resuming business as usual with her Umbra clanmate.
A few years later, during an altercation on Christmas with various angels, Bayonetta summoned one of her Infernal Demons, Gomorrah, to aid in destroying a powerful Angel. Gomorroh broke free from her control and tried to attack her, instead hitting Jeanne. Jeanne's soul was taken to Inferno, and after she defeated Gomorroah, Bayonetta hurried to the town of Noatun, to climb the mountain Fimbulventr, to get to Inferno and save Jeanne from being absorbed into Inferno.
While there, she encountered a mysterious boy named Loki who fought using energy-charged cards, who also wanted to get to Fimbulventr.
Loki ended up being a powerful individual, part of a deity named Aesir. Going back in time, Bayonetta personally witnessed what happened on that fatal day 500 years ago. Her father was the Lumen Sage, Balder, and she and he fought against Aesir, dual-summoning a powerful creature named Omne, who kicked Aesir's body out from his soul, into the maw of Gomorrah (summoned by Jeanne who Bayonetta had rescued earlier). Aesir's soul was sealed into Balder by his own volition, and the mad god corrupted the Lumen Sage... though Aesir died with Balder.
Other
After retrieving Enzo from Noatun (having forgotten him there after she returned to New York), Bayonetta continued on with her life as usual. At least, until an odd disturbance in the worlds made itself known. Going to investigate, the Umbra Witch found something quite different from what she was expecting... another world entirely.
