I think we need a Rant subforum at this rate.
So, yesterday I bought a new game for my PS2, and was happily awaiting the day when I could head back to my house and play my nice new video game on my PS2.
My PS2's rather old, you see. And it's been having trouble playing games lately, taking over a minute to load a disc (most can do it in under five seconds). Occasionally I have to take the game out and put it back in again so it will load. Everyone at my house knew it was going to happen eventually, it was just a matter of time.
But it had to pick the day I came home with a nice, shiny new video game to die.
I put in the game, and went to the menu screen (where you can look at your files and stuff on your memory card, and all the sudden I noticed that it said "Loading disc" for a second, then disappeared.
So I took the game out, checked for dust and anything, and wiped it down, then put it back in.
It did the same thing.
This repeated about fifteen times, and after the third time, I realized something was wrong.
So then I started cussing out the PS2, and took that game out and put it away, then put a different game in to see if that would load. It did the same thing.
My nine year old PS2 died on me the day after I spent 30 bucks on a new videogame just for it.
And now I can't play said video game for at least two weeks, because I don't have another PS2 at my house. My dad has one, but I just left his house, and I don't go back for another two weeks. And he can't give me his, even though he's got a PS3, because the PS3's got the whole "LOL NO MEMORY CARDS LOL" thing and it would just take too long to transfer all the files onto that stupid thing.
And I don't have any money to get a new one, and I won't for a long time. And Christmas has already passed by, and my birthday's not for another five months.
f*** YOU, PS2. I hope you ended up in Console Hell for this.
(Yes, I do realize I'm cussing out an inanimate object. I'mslightly very pissed.)
