Bob Brown sighed as he looked at his wrist-watch. Mortals were such idots-- inventing things that told them something they could find out by looking up at the sky. Still, he had to act human so as to not draw attention to himself.
It was midnight. Perfect. Carefully, Bob Brown inspected the most recently-dug grave. The dirt was still fresh, ideal for what Bob Brown was about to attempt. Carefully, as if afraid he would ruin the moment, Bob Brown produced a vial of red liquid from the folds of his coat. He pulled out the stopper and poured the ruby-red liquid onto the ground. Now all that was left was to speak.
"I stand in the your territory, Carrion King. I offer sacrifice to you, as per tradition. Will you answer?"
The moon glistened on the pool of blood at Bob Brown's feet. Quietly, there was a shimmer, and then a hazy reflection appeared in the puddle.
"Ah. Lucifer. It's been some time since you and I spoke."
Bob Brown bowed politely to the Old God who appeared in the puddle. "I've been here for some months, but I just now recieved the news. That demon that I entrusted you with has escaped, Lord Anubis?"
"Hmm. Yes. The guards were taken in by its powers. I fear that some mortal fool will soon summon it. Where are you?"
"I am... not sure, entirely." Bob Brown admitted hesitantly. "This island was something I didn't know about-- neither I nor Him. It seems to be a diverging point for the many realtities. The Multiverses and Omniverses converge somewhere on this hunk of rock."
"I assume you're there for a reason. It's not like you to go sight-seeing. Heh."
Bob Brown didn't laugh. Anubis' humor always fell short. "I have reason to believe that the demon may be summoned here. Some whiny Goth kid will do it, probably. You know, I first started to suspect places like this existed when that demon showed up in Hell. It must have crossed over from its world to mine."
"Do you think the almighty was responsible?" "No. He's powerful, but coming here I see that he isn't all-powerful." Bob Brown didn't smile. This was news he had always hoped to hear, but finally knowing it was true didn't sit well with him.
"Well, I enjoyed seeing you. Give my regards to your kin." Bob Brown gave a curt bow and then the puddle of blood sank into the earth.
