((Sorry I was late in posting this.))
The church bells rang, signalling, no matter how late it was, the departure of a new soul from Earth into Heaven. Terra was wearing his best clothing for the occasion, a black dress. Nowadays, cross-dressing was viewed with scorn, but not much could be said. And in a funeral, no one wanted to criticize the one who suffered the most pain. Some thought the death of such a friend, after losing so many friends before, would drive him insane with pain. Others didn't give a care about crossdressing and would've accepted him in women's clothing as quickly as men's. There were a few others there as well. Felix, Double D, and their friends were there. Ike and L Lawliet was also there. L felt a little responsible for letting the girl get hurt at the cemetary, for not making sure she made it to Good before the men hurt her. Michael Maurice was there because Cho, his little friend, was dead. Michael Bergeron was also there. Cho, creation of my imagination in this land for authors... Live on in peace, he thought.

Marth stood beside Terra for support, dressed in his darker Brawl outfit. His head was bowed in respect, his hand clutching Terra's, just in case.
Double D blew his nose in a hankerchief, forlornly standing beside Felix. "...I.. I still don't... understand... why..."

I have solved countless cases in the past... I was known to the world as the legendary L, the police force's trump card... Seeing my failure now... is such a shock. It reminds me that, no matter how good I am, I am still human... L is immortal, but I am a mere mortal, L... no, Lawliet, thought. "It makes no sense... It never does, and it never will... But life cannot go on... Were it to go on, you would feel nothing but pain, misery, and woe for all of eternity... Death is a sad thing, but not all see it that way..." Felix chuckled softly, though it felt kinda fake. "There's a culture... where a funeral is a party... and a birth is like a funeral. It may seem kinda cruel, but... There's a reason behind it... A birth is viewed sadly because it is an innocent soul delivered into sin... And a funeral is a party because it is a soul that has returned to God's arms... no longer having to deal with pain and sin." With Terra, Terra said nothing. He just let Marth clutch his hand. He listened to the preacher talk about how good a girl Cho was. He saw a couple of people cry. How he wanted to cry again... with them... They knew his pain... Somewhat.

"That's..." Double D snorted again. "...that's so deep..." He leaned against Felix for support. "I just... I wish I could've done more... to help her..."
"....are you alright? Terra?"

"... Standing here at this grave, I thought it would feel like she had died all over again... But... Even as I want to cry, I find myself unable to... And I find myself confused... Am I heartless... Or have I accepted that she's moved on to a better place?" "Probably the latter... If you had no heart, you wouldn't have cried for her when you first found her," Michael said. "So do I, Eddward-chan... So do I," Felix replied.

Marth nodded in agreement. "He's right. You've moved on. Because you know she'll be happier in the next world than she ever was in life."
"...I... I try so hard to protect others... sometimes I succeed, other times..." Double D sighed. "...when I fail, I... sometimes I'm afriad... I'm afraid I'll lose someone close to me... and.."

"I'll be there for you no matter what, Eddward-chan," Felix said. "I'll always stand by your side."
"Yeah... I... I guess..." Terra said.

"That's good. That means you're not drowning in grief," Marth fiegned a smile.
"...please do..." Double D clutched his arm and held him close. "If I lost you... or Ed or Eddy or Raz, I... I-I don't know what I'd do."

"Don't worry. I'll never die until the day you die," Felix said. "I promise."
"Not drowning in grief..." Terra looked down, the dress' veil covering his face.

Marth couldn't help but feel he looked... beautiful. He reached over and lifted the veil, giving him an encouraging smile.
"...Good." Comforted, Double D nuzzled Felix close before approaching the grave, placing his flowers down.

Felix placed his flowers down as well. Then they moved back to give Ike and L their chances to "seperately," of course, put down their flowers. Marth and Terra moved up together. "Cho... Forgive me," Terra said softly. "Find peace in the otherworld." He placed the flowers down softly. "And tell my friends I give them warm greetings... please?" he tried to chuckle, but it would not come out.

Marth nodded in approval.
Seeing Terra, Double D approached and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Terra... I'm sorry... for your loss. I truly am."

"For what reason? 'Tis not your fault," Terra said.

"I...." Dobule D rubbed his arm anxiously. "I only wished I could've done more, during the confrontation... but what's done is done, I suppose."
Marth nodded. "No sense in living in regret."

Felix sighed. Time to make things better. And it wasn't lying really. "Terra-san," Felix said lightly. Terra looked at him. "I had a talk with God... As an angel, sometimes I have to talk to him about things... He told me I can tell you in this case... that Cho's gone on to Heaven... You don't need to live in pain... 'Cause she's in an everlasting Paradise."
