It was a lovely afternoon. Not a cloud in the sky, a light breeze playing over his face. He took a deep breath, marveling all the scents of nature that poured into his nostrals.
He loved passing by this area. It was so pure, untouched by the renovations of Void City, so very theraputic. He hardly had the chance to come here anymore, with everything that had been happening.
This has been the first day to myself in a long while... he noted to himself, adjusting the grocery bags in his arms. ...and all I did was go shopping for things we need at home.
Looking back up at the grand church standing above him, he smiled. He knew there was a back entrance past the garden.
...but taking the scenic route home wouldn't hurt.
He stepped into the church, thinking it was empty. The sound of his sneakers clacking across the floor echoed throughout the chamber as he marvaled the sunbeams cascading in to frame the top of his black-hatted head, like a halo.
...I should bring Felix and Marion here one day. They'd love it.

Black wings fluttered by the alter. A smirk as the blood covered the holy artifact. "The Lord is not pleased with your work... filthy human... in fact, he is more angered by your foolishness then impressed by your devotion."
"Who are you to judge me?!" Lawrence yelled as he attacked the Fallen, sword drawn.
The black-winged angel yawned and then his hand gripped the hand holding the blade and twisted it sharply. A large snap could be heard and Lawrence cried before being knocked over the head by the blunt end of the angel's sword and then, in a flash of blue, sent off somewhere else. "You are a fool, Lawrence Maurice, and hardly saved in the eyes of the Lord." Another noise caught his ears and he turned to see Edd before smirking.
"Ahhhhhh, what have we here? If you've come to sightsee, you came at the right moment. Death ordered me to clean up the mess the foolish priest made burning around two dozen homosexual children here... Many of them may yet be in the flame, but they may also be saved... I am told nothing of where they go, but what I know for a fact is that they died and their charred remains laid here before I destroyed the evidence." The black-winged angel, Shinichi Watanabe, former guardian angel for the boy he was now speaking to, smirked softly. "He may yet come after you. Use those powers you have wisely."

The grocery bags hit the floor. For Double D's hands had shot up to his face, covering half of it in complete shock.
"Sh..." Double D was breathless. He did not hear the fight before he entered. He was ignoring the smell of the incinerated fat from the bodies that now made his lips sticky. He thought that was his tears awashing his face. Hell, half of Shinichi's words didn't even register with him. All he could comprehend was that his Guardian Angel was standing there before him. Never mind that his wings were darkened and he was covered in blood, he was there, alive.
"Sh-Shi-Shinichi...!" was all the boy could get out at first. "You're... wh... where have you been??"

Shinichi crossed his arms and legs at Double D seemed to stutter hopelessly, probably shocked at what the guardian angel had become... But no. It seemed to feel like the boy missed him instead. "Well... I've been here... cleaning up bodies, haven't I?" he said. "What, did you think I died after that fiasco back at the hotel... some will wish I had in the end. Look at my wings, see what I've become, and you'll wish you hadn't come here for me in the end... Of course, now that I think about it, you were unfortunate enough to walk in upon me while sightseeing... that's more the case, isn't it?"

"I-I-I had no idea... where you disappeared off to..." Double D's voice shook as he tried to get himself under control. "I-I was blinded by what I did... had no concern outside the terrible guilt..." He looked up, eyes glassy. "No one would tell me what happened to you... but here...!"
Without thinking twice, purely happy to see him, Double D threw his arms around the Fallen, squeezing tight.
"I'm so glad... to know you're okay..."

Shinichi was genuinely caught off guard when he felt Double D jump him and hold him tightly. He had not expected to be greeted in such a way, especially in the fashion he had presented himself.
(New idea for drama X3)
"So soft... just like I thought you'd be..." Shinichi muttered. But then he spoke louder. "But why do you greet me in such a fashion? Don't you think I deserve some sort of punishment for losing my wings? Yet here you are holding me closely like this."

(what, a love triangle? Maybe. XD Just know that Double D doesn't feel the way for Shinichi that he does for Felix; he simply cares for him, because Shinichi is not only his Guardian Angel, but his friend. But that doesn't mean Shinichi can't feel that way for HIM >:3 Heck, we could even proceed into abuse, like you did with Masahiro on Felix.
Oh great, now I'm brainstorming. What have you done, Felix!?! XD)
"I-I was worried about you!" Double D pulled away, aghast. "How could I hate a Fallen? My love was once one, after all, right?"
When the memories of everyone at home waiting for him came back to him, he straightened up and pulled at the angel's shirt lightly. "Shinichi! You simply must come back with me! We need you more than ever now!"

Shinichi shook his head. "I can't go home now... Not with the shame I must deal with for daring to do what I did... Why do you think I was punished... Taking all my anger out on that one little boy when Trevor died... especially to find that he was brought back... You cannot imagine the pain I felt learning that my foolishness was for nothing."

Double D's face brightened up considerably with that whimsical smile of his. It was awfully charming, unknowing to him. "I managed to apologize to the one whose life I took away. It did wonders for me; perhaps you could do the same." Innocently, he took Shinchi's hand into his. "Please, Shinichi...please come back... we need you." |

Shinichi felt Double D take his hand and he almost blushed... but he felt so ashamed at his reaction. For starters, it was wrong for the Guardian Angel to see his charge in that light. Add that to the fact that his attractions were for a man who had already made a babe with his lover... To try something would result in him being an adulter and that was not a title Shinichi would ever wish. "I'm sorry... You humans can gain forgiveness so fast, but..." Shinichi's hand fell from Double D's. "Only God can forgive me... and he does not see fit to do so yet."

(you're cruel, leaving me hanging for a day XD I have so many ideas in mind for what direction this could go in XD)
Double D frowned inwardly. He was not willing to give up that easily. "And do you think he ever will if you continue on this path?" He glanced at Shinichi meaningfully. "You can start the healing process by coming back with me. If you continue to protect us, just as you did before, I'm sure He'll begin to see you in a more favorable light."

(Dude, it's the Fox News fear tactic. They make you believe it's real so you keep watching them for updates instead of actually going to your computer and looking up the truth for yourself.)
Double D appropriately straightened up at this, his smile fading. "...I.. I see." Embarressed, he pulled away. "W-was I too forward? Ahhh, sometimes my caring for others gives off the wrong impression... ahhhhh..." He began to sweat.
