K.K. nodded, eyes still shut. "It's short for Totekeke. I roam the towns across Animal Crossing, playing my tunes every Saturday night. The villagers are big fans, y'know? It's a good gig."

"So your a wanderer." Misty looked around looking somewhat depressed. "We're in the same boat then." She sighed, "I've been a traveler since I was very little. I've visited many planets, left some of them on sour notes, made friends, lost them."
Any other time, she would be yelling, her rage would've been a sight to see... But the music... For some reason she felt calmed by it. Besides the dog didn't deserve her temper. "I'm a mercenary by nature; a hero for hire. My next meal depended on what I earned, from work." She turned to K.K. eyebrow raised, "Is it the same with you?"

"Mmm... kinda," K.K. replied. "Musicians don't leave too many sour notes behind. Or else our music would stink and no one would listen." He winked, hoping to make her laugh with his joke.

Any other time, especially in her condition, Misty possibly would've coldly shouldered the joke. But the music had calmed her, she was to emotionally drained to care much for anything. The joke caused Misty to chuckle, and smile a little; she still couldn't believe she walked into THAT one. "Yeah... I guess so."
As Misty calmed down, she took in K.K. and thought a moment; was it right to trust him? He had certainly earned her trust so far...
Suddebly a thought struck her.
"You have any friends, K.K.?"

For once, K.K. actually looked surprised, his music halting for a few seconds. He wasn't expecting such a question.
"....uhh...well..." Gradually, he resumed the song, deep in thought. "...huh. Guess I never really thought of that. I got fans, yeah, and as far as I know, nobody hates me or rubs me the wrong way... but I don't think I got any, y'know, close friends, really."

[Warning; this could become heavy, especially for an Animal Crossing character, NN1. I hope you will continue to go along with it.]
"Again we're in the same boat."
Misty sounded bitter saying this. "Trust me when I say people who say their you're friend will only stab you in the back in the end."
K.K. might not have any friend to his name, but it was doubtful he believed Misty's word. It was just too negative a thought; how could one this girl's age had grown so bitter? Misty possibly felt this questionable stare, because she continued.
"If you don't believe me, you haven't met the Teen Team. They're a bunch of punks; super powered jerks who look down on... 'Normals'." She hated using that word; it brought back too many hateful memories. "They only pretended to be my friends. They welcomed me into their team, and for the first time I actually felt like a part of a family." She growled... But she seemed more angry at herself then anything else, "I don't know why I bought into it, maybe I was stupid, maybe I was desperate, I don't know... All I do know is that I paid for my moronic mistake in the end."

"......" The song slowly trailed off. "....heavy, man. Real heavy........ sorry 'bout that..."

"Don't be..." She said with a shake of her head. "I'm the one that needs to be sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up..."

"Naw, it's cool. You gotta vent out somehow. Me, I'll play something fast when I'm angry, like K.K. Folk or something."

"That's easy for you to say..." Misty groaned as she slapped her forehead. "I'm not one of those people who's SUPPOSED to vent."
K.K. stared at the girl with a raised eyebrow. "That's the point of being hired muscle; your not supposed to grow attached..." Misty growled, "Yet, I always do, and I always got burned for it."

"...well, then, maybe it's not the job for you." K.K. replied. "At the risk of bein' cheesy, you gotta do what's true to you."

Misty growled, "Then what AM I supposed to do?"
She held out her hands, "I have super strength, I can fly... I've already tried the hero gig, but that didn't work out either..." She groaned, "You see my problem? No matter how hard I try I can't seem to be accepted anywhere..."
She felt a small look at the back of her head. She lowered her head again... "Okay... I was accepted by one group..."
She raised her head looking to the stars. "There was this one group of friends I had... Man they were something else... They consisted of a lot of people, modern day people, sometimes doin extraordinary things. They welcomed me with open arms, they didn't think I was a freak..." A few tears appeared on her face... "They actually accepted me as a friend..." She drooped her head. "And I actually thought it would last... When those stupid Dark Insects attacked our home... Be honest... Am I starting to sound like some over-emotional idiot?" She choked out a sob, but kept from crying.
[Now K.K understands what the problem is, again I'm sorry if this sounds a bit deep.]

"....no, man," K.K. breathed, genuinely shocked. "That's... that's really heavy... wow...."

Misty growled a little tears starting to fall. “Oh listen to me!!! Blabbing my feelings like this..! How pathetic I must sound…”
She turned away from K.K. and started sobbing, she just didn't have it in her to resist the tears anymore.

The music had stopped now. Only Misty's cries echoed through the garden.
Then a tiny paw was placed on his shoulder, and a sincere voice followed.
"That... ain't pathetic." Putting his guitar aside, K.K. hopped up on the bench to sit next to her. "We all got different ways to let our feelings go. I do it through music, you do it this way... there's no wrong way to do it." He paused. "...well, except for clocking someone in the face... but those type of people usually have serious problems," he ended jokingly, trying to cheer her up with humor.
