Aby laughs in the face of breeder stereotypes. She doesn't look like a mothering type or someone you'd even think was a good idea to let near your kids. She has a bit of a "rocker" feel to her. Her favorite outfit, and the one she is wearing when she arrives on the island, lends to this feel.
She wears low cut blue jeans (vivid colors, not faded). She has a stencil pokeball design on the front bottom of her left pants leg, put there with metal studs. It's tilted slightly and part of the bottom is cut off. The jeans hug her body and hips. She has a black leather belt, also with metal studs. Her back right pocket has a lip patch on it.
Her shirt is red and is a tanktop, a black pokeball stencil design is on the front, smack dab in the center of her chest (which is quite small). She has way too many bangles on her right wrist, colored gold and silver in no particular order. Some of them have fake diamonds imbedded into them, but are still quite thin. Together, all of the bangles come up to just below her elbow. She has a fingerless red glove on her other hand (no glove on her right hand!) with the folded part on her wrist colored black.
Her hair is on the long end of mid-length and held up with black barette type things. Its not a neat style, the top of it sticking up from behind her head. It loosely resembles a bun, except its all sticking up in a disarray. She has her three Pokeballs on the left side of her belt. All three of them are the normal red top, white bottom variety.
She has a black leather wallet attached to a chain attached to her belt. She uses this cause she thinks its funny when people react to the chain wallet.
Her shoes are the most practical part of her outfit. They are black running shoes with red soles and strings.
She has crimson hair and green eyes. She has black shades, although they are in her pocket as often as not (in a case so as to not be crushed by her jeans). She has a cheap plastic red pendant that is in the vague shape of stenciled fire, it hangs from a metal bead chain around her neck.

She's not one you want to get into a fistfight with. She's very agile and can fight well. She can't use weapons (although her fists and feet probably qualify) and can up to four people on at a time. Although that does take a lot of effort and its providing they have average or lower fighting skills. If they have weapons other than guns, she can still manage but will probably get cut a few times.

Aby is a Pokemon Breeder. She's not famous, but quite skilled. She favors quality over press or quantity, and if you're just after a Pokemon for a Pokedex or a collection, she won't help you. She'll help breed for moves or natures, but not for the "Gotta Catch 'Em All" factor so much of her world seems obsessed with.
She's a great Pokemon mediator, and can often get two Pokemon who don't like each other to breed. They do have to be compatible in terms of species type, however. Her people skills aren't anywhere that great.
She's a drop dead amazing cook. She is a touch better with PokeBlocks than Poffin, but only cause she has worked with it longer. She can cook human food with no problem as well. Heck, if she hadn't grown up in the world of Pokemon she'd probably be a famous chef. She will look at a basket of berries and pick three, snubbing the rest. Very picky about her ingredients, and her cooking benefits from it.

Aby is up front-in your face-tell you what she thinks no tip toeing around it-brash. She comes across as rude to many people because she refuses to sugarcoat what she thinks. She likes to say what is on her mind and doesn't care if you do the same. She is known for picking fights if she thinks it'll get people to say what she wants.
All this, and the loud way she dresses, belies her kind and warmhearted character. She makes snap judgements on who she likes, and if she likes you she is likely to show you who she really is. She hates injustice and would be the one that would run up to a crime boss and punch them in the face. She's not shy by any means. She is just REALLY into what she believes and heaven help you if you choose to believe otherwise.
She is able and willing to pull back on her brashness if she thinks you can't take it. She's good at reading people and if she thinks you can take it will give it all. If she doesn't, she'll help you get to where you can. Don't tease her about being soft. She figures if you can give it you can take it and will return it threefold.

Aby was actually born in Pallet Town, but her parents moved around so much she lost track. She lived in Pallet, Viridian, Celadon, and Saffron before settling down in Cinnabar. She got her first Pokemon when the volcano erupted. A presentation had been going on at the lab when the volcano did its thing, and she rescued a Bulbasaur from the flow.
The Bulbasaur's trainer had been killed in the eruption so she took it under her own wing. Her parents insisted she get rid of the Bulbasaur. Aby ran away from home, thinking her parents cruel, and moved to Johto.
She began dabbling in breeding less than a week after coming to Johto. She realized then how shallow people could be. The amount of requests she got to breed Ivy were incredible. Not only did she have a rare Pokemon, but it was of a less common gender. It almost made her decide not to be a breeder, but the Day Care Couple of Johto told her there were good things about it too.
Aby moved to Hoenn as soon as she heard about the place. She knew they would need breeders. She was surprised to learn that the old couple who she knew from Johto were there and had already established a business. However, they had purchased two areas of land and Aby was amazed that they gave her the other one.
While she was setting up the business, she met a trainer named Prue. They clashed a bit due to Prue's tendency to be polite and Aby's tendency to... well, not be, but they parted on good terms. Prue would often visit Aby, and they still communicate over e-mail although they haven't seen each other since Prue moved to Sinnoh to continue training.
The last communication she had gotten from Prue was an e-mail saying she was going to check on Spear Pillar about some odd activity. Aby had asked about Team Galactic and Prue told her that they hadn't been up to much since that weird black cloud a year or so back. About two days after Prue had vanished, Aby was arguing on the phone with a not-so-potential client when the phone had cut dead.
She had checked out the connection when a portal appeared under her. In a rather "Looney Tunes" manner she looked down at the black hole beneath her just in time to fall into it. Her phone and the counter it had been on fell out under her as the portal closed and cut the phone line.

It should be stressed she is from a generic game canon world, the same one Prue is from. So the same rules about not knowing Ash/Satoshi and the main characters being generic apply. She also wouldn't know Brock/Takeshi.
And don't call her "baby". Many people have made that mistake seeing how she is a breeder and female. She hates it. She tends to blow up when you call her as such.
She has no connection to "Ruby" of the manga or even the game by the same name. I first created her before Gold and Silver even came out.

Fiercely loyal to Aby, but pretty antisocial otherwise. Ivy was extremely close to her trainer that died in the eruption at Cinnabar. In fact, it took a huge amount of effort on Aby's part to get the Bulbasuar to accept her. Ivy does not get along with most people and those she does have worked their butts off to get on her miniscule "good side". She doesn't run around attacking people, but she'll glare at them and ignore them unless Aby specifically tells her not to. She would gladly protect Aby with her life, even without being told to. She never wants to feel the pain of losing a trainer again. She seems rude or curt to many people, but its just a fear of making friends only to lose them.

It's bad enough that Aby only lets him out of his Pokeball if no other Pokemon are around. Cause there's a chance he'll try to molest them if there are. He won't bother non-Pokemon or not-quite-Pokemon. Which is quite the blessing. He's not that great of a battler, but he's phenomenal with mimicking the appearances of others. And as long as their aren't Pokemon around can act as a "doppelganger" to just about anything Aby needs. But the instant a Pokemon appears, all bets are off. And yes, he has been knocked out by more than a few Pokemon that he refused to take "no" from.

Bobby can't talk like a human, even if he has taken the form of one. As such, if he is forced to speak he will reveal himself. Or seem reaaallly stupid to a person if they don't know about Dittos.

He's also got this problem with backing down. He would never give anything a half-try. Its all or nothing for him. If he decided he could fly he'd keep trying until he cracked his skull open. But he's very affectionate as well. That makes his biting a problem. Cause he bites people he likes. Aby has been known to muzzle him, which he very much hates. Overall he's pretty easy going. He should learn that people don't like getting puncture wounds from teeth, though.
