Personality: King Dedede is greedy and selfish, often taking things just so others can't have them. However, he can also be helpful and willing to help the denizens of Dream Land. Despite he and Kirby often fighting, he has worked together and had friendly contests with him.
History: King Dedede is the self-crowned king of Dream Land, though not many people seem to care one way or another. Despite acting as king, Dedede causes more harm than good through his selfish mischief, such as stealing all of the food for himself.
He does have Dream Land's best interests at heart, though. He once broke up the Star Rod to protect Dream Land from the evil Cloaked Nightmare... of course, Kirby didn't know this, but whatever.
During Brawl, when Sub-space attacked, King Dedede often captured and took different Brawlers who had been turned into statues and placed his badge on them. However, in the end it was revealed he had been trying to help them and his badges could bring back the statues.
