Physical Description: Normally, Genkai looks like an aging woman, wearing martial arts clothes and a purple cap. She has shoulder-length gray hair and brown eyes. However, in her younger years, she was a beautiful girl with bright pink hair and soft skin. As has been stated earlier, she is rather short, ranging in at 4, maybe 5, feet tall.
Weapons: Genkai being... well... Genkai, doesn't have any weapons. Whatsoever.
Abilities/Powers: Unless, of course, you count her Reigun, Rei Wave, and Rei Reflection techniques. However, these fall more under powers than actual 'weapons'.
Skills: Does being one awesome Deadpan Snarker count? No? Well... she's pretty fast, in relativity. Perhaps rivaling Hiei's speed.
Personality: Genkai is an old-fashioned woman with great strength and determination. She put her mind and body through extensive training to control the spirit wave orb, contributing to her rather cold and hard demeanor. Through various events, it is shown that she really does care for Yuusuke, Hiei, Kurama, and even Kuwabara. To the extent that she agreed to return to the world of the living to train Urameshi.
History: Genkai has a rather interesting history. She was, actually, once comrades with the monster known as Toguro. Not for protection, but because the idiot would get himself KILLED had she not been on the team. He was weak, he was egotistical, and he seemed to portray a kamikaze outlook on things. Not to mention, he put too much stock in his 'muscles' and not enough in his reikei. All in all, Toguro was an idiot.
But more than that, he was an idiot that knew his limitations. Even though his personality didn't reveal such, he, in fact, did. And, as such, he sold his soul for power. She'd have been more okay with it if this 'power' was more reikei, and not, you know, the ability to change the size of his muscles. He put too much stock into those trivial things, really. They parted ways after this. The fool may have attacked her, actually. Gotten his ass handed to him, but still.
She trained alone for quite a while. Quite a few decades passed. And the young, open, Genkai became... old, cold. She went from 'lawful good' to 'neutral good' in this time. She went off the radar for a while, until she decided it was time to pass her skill to a successor. Many showed up to compete. It finally came down to the final two. Yuusuke Urameshi, and the demon Rando.
It was a long battle, and pushed Urameshi to his limits, but in the end, he was victorious. The two trained together for a total of six months. Genkai didn't appear again until the Dark Tournament. She spent most of the time here as the 'Masked Fighter'. She won most, if not all, of her battles rather easily. Until she transferred her power to Yuusuke. Then she had to rely on the Rei Reflection technique, and her natural agility, to win. She did as such, and seemed to be ready to go until the final round.
But then... something happened. Toguro knew she'd transferred her power, he even ASKED her. She responded with a firm 'yes'. He promptly killed her. However, this was not the end for Lady Genkai. She agreed to be revived, to train Yuusuke. All was going well...
...until the idiot decided: “HURR, I'M GOING TO DISAPPEAR NOW GAIZ”. She was rather pissed. Botan went around, the following week or so, telling everyone of a 'meeting' that Koenma was holding. She proceeded to turn it down. If Urameshi got himself lost, he could find his way back on his own, for all she cared. Eventually, most everyone was gone. Still no Urameshi.
She proceeded to chew Koenma out, telling him various things like: “CAN'T YOU CONTROL YOUR OWN DAMNED DETECTIVE?” and such. She finally agreed to go, deciding to get the Spirit Cuffs back that Urameshi had, quite technically, STOLEN. At least, that was her excuse.
She was only saved from being cut by the DOOM PORTAL OF DOOM by being epicly fast. And by not being Botan or Kuwabara.
