Minato shook his head. "No, I was sleeping. Why?"
K1's face had gone green. Ooh yeah. He remembered now. He felt like not even a thousand baths would make him clean after that night. He may not have gotten drenched in it, but it was close enough.
"...You both look like you're going to be sick," Minato commented.
"...I think I am." K1 said.

"Um... if you need to go out... during the Dark Hour when its raining... you'll want a heavy duty umbrella..." Yuugi didn't feel so swift himself, actually. So Minato had missed it. Did that mean it had never rained during the Dark Hour in his world? Or did this Island cause it to manifest differently, "Or stay inside..." he shuddered again, "I'm going to go to bed...."
After I take another shower. I got it worse than K1-kun...

"Same..." K1 said, shuddering again. He turned to the demon he'd brought with him. "Come on, Cerberus."
The sleeping demon perked up, and followed after K1, who had started walking away. He stopped, and turned to Minato. "We'll be going to the electronics store at El Grande Mall tomorrow, if you want to come help... You will, right?"
Minato nodded. "Of course." The demon following K1, Cerberus... it had the same name as Koromaru's persona, but it looked very different. Looked more like a lion than a dog.

Yuugi didn't sleep well at all. It was like those bouts of insomnia some people get. Exhausted to the point of having trouble sleeping. Or not being able to at all. At least Yuugi had the former. He'd slip in fits of thirty minutes or so. He was up at 9PM. Three hours to kill. He had taken a shower before going to bed. Logically he knew he'd gotten any blood out. Really, it wasn't blood. But the thought... it was the kind of thing that made people germophobic.
He'd left his apartment with his COMP to keep track of the time. The Apartment Complex had a laundry area, and he washed his small amount of clothes, except what he had on. It took about forty-five minutes there. The tear in his school uniform became slightly worse thanks to it. He went back to his apartment and tried to fix it. He wasn't good at this kind of thing, and the patch job was fairly obvious. Still, it was the outfit he was most comfortable in.
All he could really do was wait. He set his COMP to 11:45 PM just in case and lay down in bed. He didn't expect much sleep. Somehow the exhaustion finally managed to kick in. It was now 11:30PM... he was sound asleep, and it was dreamless. If he'd been aware, he would have been thankful. The mess had been causing him nightmares... -----
Naoya looked up when Keiichi came in. He looked a touch irritated. However, K1 didn't look in the mood to talk. He frowned, pushing aside the warnings he'd planned on giving, "You look sick."
Keiichi did have a slight green tint to him...
(OOC: Okay, technically the Naoya thing occurs before the Yuugi bit. That's all for Yuugi until we catch up with K1 and Naoya. And anything you might want to do with Minato before 11:30PM)

K1 groaned. "I feel like a thousand showers will never make me clean... I see you got done with whatever you did today." He lay down on the couch, and stared up at the ceiling. "Hey, wake me up at about 15 til midnight. That Midnight Channel thing's going to be on tonight, and Souji said I should watch it."
He rolled over on his side. "Do you want to watch it when it comes on? If Souji's right, then Atem's shadow's going to be on there."
It looked like he wasn't going to get around to that shower any time soon.

Naoya opened his mouth to respond, but Keiichi had already fallen asleep. It was just as well. The whole Dark Hour thing wasn't exactly energizing. Naoya rolled his eyes and went into a closet, pulling out a blanket and roughly tossing it over his cousin. He'd have to talk about the map function he had a suspicition the teen had forgotten about later. And maybe that woman didn't need mentioning. He made sure to plug Keiichi's COMP into the wall.
He headed into the bedroom. He saw no reason to miss this thing with Atem's shadow. No reason not to miss it either, but he didn't have anything else to do that wouldn't take more time than he felt like spending. At the rate his cousin was going... they needed to get to training soon. And while the Island didn't seem infested with demons as a result of COMPs, there did seem to be quite a few things that no one would miss. -----
Yuugi looked over at the window as he drifted awake. It was dark out, and the rain was coming down in sheets. He was extremely grateful they didn't have to go out tonight in that. He pulled himself out of bed, adjusting the jacket on his poorly fixed school uniform, and closed the blinds. At least he could avoid looking at the blood streaming down his windows.
He grabbed his COMP and turned the alarm off. He opened it up and noticed something slightly different on the screen. The Demon Auction feature was a slightly different color. He selected it and was surprised to see it actually open up. A screen welcomed him by his COMP username and began scrolling through a series of instructions. He went through them as he closed more of his blinds and sat down on the couch with the powerless TV in front of him.

It was almost midnight when K1 woke up. He was sitting in front of the turned off television, and was feeling rather stupid as he did so. If Souji said this worked, though... he supposed it worked.
"Naoya, are you going to come watch this?" K1 asked.
--------------------
Souji was patiently sitting in front of the television. The Midnight Channel came on at Midnight. There were two midnights here. So the Midnight Channel would air twice.
He glanced outside. Still raining. Oh, that was going to be nasty looking.
-----------------------
Minato was looking outside at the rain as he awaited the start of the Midnight Channel. It sounded kind of stupid, but...

Yuugi noticed the clock on the wall. He closed the COMP, putting it into sleep mode. He could look at it later. He was worried about the television. Midori had seen an out of focus image of Atem. But Souji had implied things would change. He thought about asking the others about it later, but he felt extremely guilty. He had to watch it. It could help him save Atem, right? He grinned sadly. Him. Saving Atem. What a laugh. -----
Naoya came out of the back room. He glanced at the television. His first thought was that it needed to be on, but even at his worst Keiichi wasn't that stupid. It was likely it would work without the television being on. He glanced at the sheet rain and closed the blinds. It wasn't that the blood bothered him that much being indoors, but he knew it would bother Keiichi. He sat down on the couch just as the static appeared on the screen... -----
The static quickly faded to a much clearer picture. Well, if you can call an extremely dark room with almost nothing visible a clear picture. About all that could be seen was that there was someone there. At least until an azure blue fire lit up in the back center of the room.
The light illuminated the room like a normal flame would, but the light seemed almost "dark". Not in a blacklight sense. But... it was rather hard to describe to those not seeing it. It was almost as if the light being cast by it wasn't really being cast by it. As if the figure sitting in the gold throne-like seat was alight all on its own. It was Atem... but not the Atem Naoya had ever seen nor dressed in a way anyone but Yuugi had seen. Even then, the outfit seemed guady as if the figure was trying to make some kind of statement.
The deeply tanned Pharaoh had no shirt on, as well. His left hand was on the "arm rest" of the throne, the fingers hangind down from the front edge. In his other hand was what appeared to be a modified microphone. Modified in that it appeared more like an ankh, the loop at the top being the black ball of a microphone. The azure blue fire was just above the top of the throne, flickering in a way that seemed entirely unnatural.
A burst of "light" about three feet in either direction of the first flame appeared. It drew in on itself revealing more fire. Then three feet from that, and yet another three feet. The last flames appeared to be in a corner. The flames continued to burst and appear until they went off the edge of the "screen". The sound of bursting continued for a few more seconds, and the dark illumination created an entirely creepy effect.
Now that more of the room was "lit", one could see it was littered with various statues. It looked like the treasure room of a certain movie remake starring American actor Brendan Frasier. At least it was lacking the flesh eating scarabs. And the floor was illuminated enough to reveal nothing was moving across it. The play of unnatural shadows seemed straight out of some old B horror flick. However, being that those who knew the Channel would know it wasn't special effects, it was that much creepier. Especially the way it played across the Pharaoh's face, and glinted paranormally off the gold he was wearing.
Which honestly made the Pharaoh as he was depicted in the anime look poor. Each upper arm had five armlets, no space between them. From the top armlet a falcon like wing branched off, the tips of each feathers being either silver or white gold. It was like an outstretched wing and extended to the side for one and a half inches. His lower arm had solid gold bracers with intracate patterns and work. They extended up to half an inch below his elbow. Around his waist were three gold loops, the center of which had an Egyptian eye pattern in the center. What looked to be extremely well woven sand colored cloth fell from the loops as if connected to it, wrapped around once. A piece similar to what Temu wore in design fell down, and was the same as the Persona except it lacked the triangles.
Attached to what looked like a sturdy silver chain was what appeared to be the Millenium Puzzle. A different detail, however, was two silver cartouches. The details were hard to make out from the distance, but one had the hieroglyphs for "Atem" and the other for "Shadow".
On his shoulders he had guards that were large and patterned like the wing shape coming off his armlets. He worn a crown similar to the one seen in the anime, but gems hung off it at various locations. It was more fancy and might have looked pretty if it weren't for the dark light and his harsh eyes. One noticable difference however, was that the part with the eye in the anime was missing. Not that the eye was, but it appeared to be part of the Shadow's body, like some kind of eerie paranormal tattoo. The earrings were large, and it the part through his ears were patterened to look like an Egyptian eye.
Around his neck was a ornate gold loop, and it appeared the shoulder guards were actually attached to it. The cloak, which Midori had mistaken for a cape the night before, matched the one of the anime and was an absolutely beautiful shade of navy blue. It swooped under the sitting Pharaoh, almost like some kind of seat cover.
As the final "light" burst, an extremely dark grin spread on the Pharaoh's face. It was the kind one would expect from Yami Bakura, not Atem. He swiftly stood up, his cloak moving almost unnaturally as it cascaded down. He gestured with his hand as he spoke into the "microphone". It seemed to magnify his voice like a microphone should.
"Welcome, viewers, to the darkness that inhabits your own mind. The secret doubts we all have about our true side, the weakness we would never show the world. Even I, a Pharaoh, have my weaknesses... a weakness of the heart, a weakness of the soul. What would it take to break one who rules a country? It is not a demon, but one who inherited weakness and yet manages to be stronger..."
"What makes a person strong? Surely it is the ability to crush others under one's foot? But no, there is one stronger. I must tell this person... no convicne them they are stronger..." the grin darkened, and it seemed almost as if the Pharaoh were depressed as well, "Even if it costs me my own life. Join me in this attempt to conquer inner darkness...."
The lights began to burst out, and the grin of the Pharaoh got steadily creepier with the fading light and play of shadows. When the last light blipped out, the screen went back to static...

K1 blinked at the screen. "Okay, Souji-kun didn't mention the creepy TV show part. But was that really Atem? I mean, the hair matched, and all, but still..."
He turned to Naoya. "What do you think?"
---------------------
Minato hadn't been watching the screen when the Dark Hour started, so he missed part of the show, but he got a pretty good look at why K1 and Yuugi had shuddered. Raining blood was not pleasant. It had never rained during the Dark Hour for Minato, so this was odd to him, but that explained the need for a heavy duty umbrella.
And then the show on the Midnight Channel. That had definitely been Atem. The outfit was a bit more glamorous, but the hair and the deep tan indicated this was Atem back when he was pharaoh. The Large Ham? All new.
----------------------
Souji didn't comment on the show. In fact, he was trying to figure out what kind of TV Show Atem was going off of. That Intervention show those Americans liked?
Well, in any case, they knew Atem was definitely in the TV World.

Yuugi twitched a bit as the show came on. He flushed a bit as "Atem" went into his speech. At one point he caught the hieroglyphics on the cartouches. He instantly recognized Atem, but it took a few moments to get the Shadow one. If he hadn't been such a mix of worry and embarassed, he likely would have facepalmed from the lameness. It barely crossed his mind, as it was.
Because he knew his friends in this world had seen that. And it was going to cause... questions. He got a little redder at the cheeks and covered his face with his hand, trying to get the blush under control. The thoughts that had occured when he realized how obsessive he was in trying to rescue Atem hadn't gone away. It had actually first really surfaced thanks to Midori. It felt like a year ago, although he didn't think it'd been even two weeks.
His mind wandered to Anzu as he stood up. She liked Atem... Atem was convinced she liked him. He felt rather torn. The way his mind was wandering had formed the most awkward love triangle he could imagine. He walked to the door, willing his face to get less red as he waited for the inevitable knock. After what had just been shown on the Channel, there was going to be a knock. As for his face, it managed to get to a mostly normal complexion. -----
Noaya had raised an eyebrow. It was a rather strong expression of surprise, at least for Naoya. It quickly faded to bemusement. He spoke without turning to Keiichi, "That wasn't Atem," Naoya paused for a moment, "Not entirely. I don't know how this 'TV World' works, but what that was appeared to be a manifestation of what he probably wouldn't admit to himself."
Well, you had to give the man credit for his ability to read people. To be able to figure out Atem's shadow so well? Well, as Atsuro had once said, he had the memories of uncountable lifetimes under his belt. He was good at reading people. He turned towards Keiichi and waited for the teen's response. And not just that, he was trying to read the teen's reaction to the situation.

K1 nodded. "That's the shadow thing that becomes their personas. I guess the Shadow's what actually appears on the Midnight Channel." He gave a nervous chuckle. "Well, at least it's not as bad as Yuugi's was... I hope."
The room was surprisingly dark now. Well, that was to be expected. It was the Dark Hour now. The rain was coming down fairly steadily now. Well, K1 supposed it wasn't rain anymore. Which was why he was glad they took that shadow in Tartarus out. He really didn't want to have to go out in that again.
----------------
Minato pulled his Evoker out of its holster and examined it. Damn. If Atem had one of these with him, he would have been able to defend himself against this weird, messed up Shadow version of himself.
He shook his head. No. Even if Atem had an Evoker, it would have been on Yuugi's body. Atem would still have been defenseless.
-----------------
Souji sighed and lay back down on his bed. Well, at least he knew what they were dealing with. It was only a matter of time.

Yuugi yawned, the blush finally fading from his face. Everyone must have been too tired to bother him about the Channel. The rain didn't seem to be slowing down any, and he was thankful he'd closed the blinds. The questions would likely come in the morning... he walked over to his bedroom, where he had piled the two door pieces to the side. He needed to sleep for when the questions came. -----
"So Shadows are manifestations of sealed emotions?" Naoya turned towards the closed blinds, "That grants a different look on that Tartarus building... Are you going back to bed, then?"

K1 nodded. "I'll see you in the morning then. Night, Naoya." He pulled himself off of the couch and headed into Naoya's room. He needed sleep after today.
-----------------
Minato took another glance out the window before heading off to bed. Well, at least tomorrow they'd be able to go help Atem. No need for Atem to end up like that man at the mall.

Yuugi jolted awake. He looked around, and grabbed at his chest. Oh. He'd been dreaming. He looked around blankly for a moment. He couldn't remember what about. The way he had woken up though, it must have been a nightmare. Well, his subconscious was in a knot if his surface mind was any indication. He climbed out of bed towards the side closer to the windows. He heard some light rainfall. He walked around to the other side of the bed and pocketed all of his cards, including the one belonging to his Persona. He didn't have the vest pockets, so he had to put them in his pants pockets. He also "sheathed" Atem's sword. He still wasn't used to thinking of it as his own. He looked over at the COMP and saw that the power light was red. Crap, he'd forgotten to shut it off last night. He glanced down towards his pockets again. At least he had Nefertum and the Duel Monsters cards. He took the time to plug the COMP in, choosing to leave it there for the day. He glanced at the clock on his wall. About 5:43. The light levels coming from under the blinds indicated AM. Or lack of light levels, what with the Island having a solid four season cycle and the time of year it was in this world. He went about his morning chores before going to the front door. He opened it up and looked out in the dark hallway. It was possible the others were up. He didn't really know much about Naoya, but the man seemed to keep odd hours. He hesitated in front of K1's door for a moment before turning and heading for the stairs. He wanted to check on Souji, and even though Naoya grated him a bit he did seem to keep an eye out for K1 in a disturbingly brother-like fashion. Disturbing because of his soul, not the situation itself. ----- Naoya had never been one to need much sleep. Even back in Japan, he'd spent less time sleeping and more time on the computer. Keiichi appeared to be still asleep. Naoya heard Yuugi wake up. It was a good thing the rates on these apartments were cheap, the walls seemed thin enough to punch a whole through. He paused in his typing when he heard Yuugi's footsteps come to the door, but didn't seem to care when they faded off. The teen must have changed his mind. Keiichi would expect him to go with them to the TV World, but they had a fairly large group. Souji, Minato, Yuugi, Keiichi, and him seemed a bit much. It was a good thing to use as a reason to not go with the group. He wanted to track down that unknown COMP signal. On that thought he flipped open the COMP and narrowed his eyes. There were two unknown signals today. One was at the hotel, and it seemed to be active despite the hour. It also read as the one from before. However.... He pulled out the stylus and pulled the map around. The other one seemed to be coming from a church area. It was weak, and he inputted a bunch of commands and realized that the COMP wasn't fully active. It was possible it was going wild, but from what he could tell it had no user. He'd check the one with the user first, he wanted to know where this unknown person stood on things before picking up the other one. From what he knew about the Island that church was fairly abandoned. No harm would come from leaving a COMP there. Naoya didn't like churches. Filled with self-righteous sleep for the slaughter. The kind of thing God seemed to revel in. So leaving the COMP there wasn't an issue. The man didn't know how wrong he was... (OOC: Foreshadowing AHOY! When the group splits up I'm gonna send Naoya towards Midori. If you have a character to interact with him, I'd like to introduce that one OC connected to K1 and Naoya before they're done with the TV World. If not I can hold off until later. But I wanted to set the foreshadowing. And to those reading these RPs, that COMP and subplot is off limits. I haven't signed up for the OC yet but it is connected to one.)

That particular morning, Minato decided to go talk to Souji. The last time the two of them had talked was the day the Dark Hour reappeared, and that had been not the time to talk. They may have explained various parts of their own times to each other, but still.
Despite the early time of the morning (About 6 AM), Minato decided to go down to Souji's door. He had all of the items he needed for today's trip into the TV World. To be honest, he was looking forward to it a bit. Anything had to be better than the Dark Hour. At least the TV World didn't call some eldritch abomination that was going to turn everyone into the Lost, drooling, helpless, and waiting for death.
He knocked just as Souji was opening the door. There were bags under the teen's eyes. He hadn't slept that night.
"Good morning," Minato said.
"Morning. I suppose you're going into the TV World with us today?" Souji asked.
"Yeah. I watched the Midnight Channel last night. I want to help," Minato said. Souji sighed.
"Be careful, Arisato-san."
"Huh?"
"I'm worried about those Evokers you carry. Personae aren't meant to be forced out. Even if you have the Wild Card like I do, you still don't have full control over your Persona," Souji pushed past Minato. "Don't use your Evoker while in the TV World today. Don't forget, Personas are still Shadows."
He stretched. "I'm going to go get K1, if he's not already awake."
--------------------
K1 had his face firmly pressed into a pillow.
