Yuugi nodded and repocketed the key, "So what is this Laplace thing? Are those e-mails common?"
He had pulled out the COMP and was passing it between his hands. Things had gotten complicated since they had found the machine.
(OOC: The comp and key is held in the same pocket cause of how small the key is. When both are in the pocket, the key is the lower object.)

K1 sat down at a picnic table. "Do you know what Laplace's demon is? Back in 1814, this guy called Laplace proposed that if you knew the precise location and movement of every demon in the universe, you could predict the future. A bunch of people started calling it Laplace's demon after that."
He leaned back. "Apparently, it was a real demon. Every day, it will send e-mails to COMP users, though only if they have the modded COMPs. These e-mails talk about what will happen that day, including the time it will happen. Usually only major events, though, like a blackout, or someone getting murdered."

(OOC: Thank you for explaining a figure from Rozen Maiden Traumend to me. XD I thought "Laplace's Demon" was a made up figure. X3)
"I think I heard some fans of occult games mention it a few times... The only game I really had any interest in that had any kind of occult attached to it was my puzzle," Yuugi pointed to the pyramid around his neck, "So is that what you do? Try and prevent what these say?"
Yuugi pointed to the COMP as he finished.
"Every world has their troubles with demons it seems." Atem said to Yuugi. Yuugi didn't miss his meaning. The only reason he and his other self had met was due to the demon that had been created as a side effect of the sacrifice needed for the Millenium Items.
(OOC: >_> That last sentence seems a little run-on to me, but I'm not sure how to fix it. XD)

(No problemo. xD)
K1 nodded. "Yeah. Some things we can't change, but we do our best to prevent most of it. Like, if tons of people are going to get killed by some demon, then we go kill the demon."
There were plenty of times that he hadn't been able to stop what the Laplace Mail said, though, and each time, he felt absolutely awful about it. He had seen what was going to happen, and yet, did nothing!

"So... why doesn't anyone just go after the demon?"
Atem almost facepalmed. Yuugi usually didn't make comments that stupid. What made it even more ridiculous is it hadn't even been three days since the events in the Millenium World, and his partner was making side comments about destroying powerful demons.
Atem had to fuse the Three Phantom Gods to take down Zorc, he highly doubted Laplace's Demon was weaker than that. And if it could predict the future, catching it would be an excersize in futility.

K1 found himself facepalming as well. "It doesn't exist in the human world. And you probably couldn't actually kill it anyways, if it can predict all future events. It would see you coming and stay away from you."
He decided to end this part of the discussion now. "But in any case, at least our Death Clocks aren't at zero anymore. We should be safe for now."

Yuugi nodded. He wanted to point out that the demon wasn't always that accurate, but he had seen Atem's reaction. Even if it wasn't accurate it was strong. And just the three of them probably couldn't fight it.
Yuugi suddenly jerked, "Oh shoot! I totally forgot about Minato! I told him I'd meet him today!"
Yuugi quickly turned towards the city. He had no idea where Minato was staying, and with the time of day he probably thought he had been blown off.
(OOC: I just learned the Persona games are from the Shin Megami franchise. XD)

((XDDDDDDDDD Yes. Yes they are. They don't have the SMT prefix in Japan because they're not part of the main series, but they part of the series.))
K1 stood up. "You're meeting someone? I guess I'll come along." Somehow, he had a feeling that despite everything, he was gonna be coming along for the ride anyways.
((Damn straight, K1. D:<))
