Midori immidiately realized she'd done something wrong, and ended up echoing something K1 had said the night before.
"Oh, god, I'm so sorry..." Midori said. I said something wrong, didn't I?
At that moment, Nanoha decided it was time to get up, and see what was going on over there.
"Are you two alright?" Nanoha asked.

"N-no... it's okay."
Chibi Moon looked up when she saw Nanoha approaching. She nodded, "We're fine. Thank you," she drew in a slightly shaky breath. She hated feeling this useless, "I'll be fine. I have to go though. I have stuff I need to do. You two be careful, okay?"
The last sentence was very much a warning, and Chibi Moon's tone of voice magnified this. She obviously wasn't saying something...

Midori raised an eyebrow at this last statement, but was still feeling guilty over what she'd said. Nanoha, on the other hand, had a feeling. She put a hand on Chibi Moon's head and crouched down so she could look Chibi Moon in the eye as she said this.
"It's okay. You can tell us," Nanoha said.

Chibi Moon pulled away, "N-no. I can't get innocent people involved!"
She was trying to put on a show of tough defiance, but more than anything she looked scared. That fight with that man... the way he'd killed that man in such cold blood. It wasn't something normal people could handle. It wasn't something she could handle. Even with her official looking uniform, the brunette in front of her was still just an officer.
She wanted help, but she just couldn't get these civilians involved... The mere fact that they knew something was very wrong had already put them in enough danger. She was still fighting back tears. If only the Quartetto were here. Even Helios, despite not having anything in the way of powers...
(OOC: Gotta love it when the reader knows more than the characters. XD)

Nanoha stood up. "It's okay. I can defend myself if it comes to it." She pulled a red pearl on a string out of a pocket in her uniform. "Raising Heart, please!"
"Yes, my master." The jewel said this in a robotic voice that was speaking perfect english.
The pearl suddenly glowed with a pink light, and extended into a large staff with a yellow piece on the end that held a larger form of the red jewel the staff had taken the form of before. Midori gasped as she suddenly realized who this woman was.
"You're Nanoha Takamachi!" Midori said, holding back a fangirlish squee. Now was not the time.

Chibi Moon blinked, "You're a champion of justice...?"
She looked at Midori for a moment and then turned to Nanoha, "I can't say anything around her," back to Midori, "I'm really very sorry, but knowing more would only put you in danger. It is my duty as a princess to protect the people... even if they are not my own. I can't have you getting hurt. Please forgive me, I do not mean to devalue any skills you might have."
Chibi Moon even made a point of giving a formal bow of apology to Midori as she spoke.
(OOC: Chibi Moon opens a can of worms! XD)

Midori looked offended at this. "I'm the Demon Summoning Warrior of Justice, Magical Dolly! Don't think you can devalue my skills so quickly! Besides, I think I've got a feeling who's after you, anyways."
Nanoha nodded. "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine."

Chibi Moon paused...
"What summoning!? You can't be serious! Demons!? They'll eat you alive!"
She wasn't being rude. In fact, her face was flooded with concern. She didn't want to have to kill the girl to save her... she was actually curious who Dolly was talking about, but right now she had a more serious problem standing in front of her.
She knew demons and monsters. They were all aspects of Chaos. Had this girl... had Chaos corrupted her? Like Galaxia?

Midori pulled out her COMP. "What? No. I contracted them! Well, I paid them a lotta demon cash so they'd listen to me, but that's beside the point. And besides, they can't eat me alive! If they did that, they'd break their contract."
Nanoha was listening along, a bit wary about this demon thing herself, a bit more than she usually was when it came to these kind of things. On the other hand, she wasn't about to attack Midori over it.
((OOC: This is a Mythology Gag; Nanoha is originally from the Triangle Heart series of H-Games, where her family was a group of ninja bodyguards, she could also use magic, and she had a yokai companion. Her siblings also fought demons and the such pretty regularly, too, though.))

(OOC: Yay for crossover parody things. XD) Chibi Moon shook her head, "If you make a deal with the devil, you're going to get screwed! Demand learned that, as did the rest of the Black Moon Clan! There are things worse than death!" She had her hands balled up in fists, but despite the attempted show at strength it was still apparent she was acting of worry more than anger. The experiences from her own world were coming out more and more. She had even just mentioned the force known as Chaos by name. To those who had seen the anime, this would be a bit confusing. As the only entity Chaos had interacted with was Galaxia, not the Black Moon Clan... (OOC: One of the examples of canon conflict. In the manga, it was revealed Wiseman was an aspect of Chaos. Although Demand was pretty crazy in the manga BEFORE Wiseman, a terrorist who lived in Crystal Tokyo. Wiseman/Chaos used these negative emotions to corrupt him. AKA none of this tragic backstory crap.  ) |

Midori backed up. She had never heard any of this stuff before, and she'd even watched StarS all of the way through. "Well, it's not like I could use anything else! People were getting killed by demons all over! What better way to fight fire but with fire?"
On the other hand, if it hadn't been for the COMPs, Tokyo would have never been locked down anyways... there would have never been demons summoned there.

Chibi Moon turned away. Midori's comments reminded her of a strength her mother had but she had never been able to find within herself. The strength so sacrifice one's life for the ones you loved. But a life and a soul...?
"But... your star seed...." she turned back towards Midori, "It could shatter! And you'd never be reborn!"
And she had fallen back into a way her world conflicted with the one presented in the anime. For in the manga, a star seed is something everyone had, but only Sailor Soldiers possessed the magic of a Sailor Crystal. In the anime, only Sailor Soldiers had the ever glowing item known as the "true star seed". It was strongly implied those who weren't soldiers has weak star seeds that quickly lost their glow... making them rather useless in the grand scheme of things.

Midori sighed. "Then if that's the case, then I hope I've saved as many people as I could. As a Warrior of Justice, I must defeat all demons who do evil!"
She pocketed her COMP again, having gotten tired of carrying it around. "And if that means I lose my star seed, then I'll do it."
Star seeds. This was so awesome. Though did she had a weak one, or a strong one like what the Sailor Soldiers had? Midori was assuming the latter, though it was likely the former.

(OOC: She has a normal one unless she suddenly devlopes Solider powers. XD And we all know her Phage form in anime canon would be Sailor Otaku (possibly Sailor Fangirl) XDD)
Chibi Moon hung her head for a few moments before looking up. She now looked dead serious, "I will have to destroy you if Chaos corrupts you. I hope that you will forgive me when that happens."
She turned to Nanoha, "He's this man," Chibi Moon paused to describe Bashton, "He can make copies of himself, but its quite evident which one is real. But the copies are so quick that I can't get to him. My attacks take some time, I need help running interference. I'm used to working in a team..." Chibi Moon trailed off. More painful thoughts. The Quartetto, her guardian soldiers...
(OOC: Canon conflict 594! In the anime, Moon and Chibi Moon are ultra forgiving and try to heal (and often succeed!) their opponents. In the manga, Moon has no problem killing evil. The Black Moon clan were not purified, they were ALL killed, Professor Tomoe died for his deeds, Neherennia was killed rather than being sent back to relive her life...
Thus Chibi Moon might seem a little violent for promising to kill Midori if she turns evil.)

"Copies..." Midori gasped, and held her hand up to her mouth. "That sounds like that man from before! He's the one who killed Zero-sama's past lover! Which means..." She blushed, realizing exactly what it meant. Quickly, the otaku returned to her previous facial expression. "That man attacked me yesterday after I arrived on the island! Sailor Chibi Moon! Allow me to help you fight him, please!"
"If it's a matter of taking out the copies, I can help there," Nanoha said. "I am-- well, was-- the battle instructor for the Space-Time Bureau's Air based forces, so I could possibly be some help."
"She's also an S+ class mage!" Midori said, unable to restrain her rampant fangirlishness any longer. "So she's super strong!"
"Wh-Where did you find that out?" Nanoha asked. "I'm only an AA class with the limiters on, anyways... ehehe..."
