Zero turned to Nanoha, "Well, the screens did seem to be plastered in virus warnings before shorting out or worse... actually, that was what caused the panic."
All 100% true. Naturally, he left out the part about it being his fault...
Chibiusa shook her head, "While viruses may be problematic, they aren't anything we can do anything about... I guess we continue looking."

Midori suddenly remembered something she'd seen when she opened up her COMP earlier that night. Something about an attempted attack by a virus called "missingno.exe". It sounded familiar somehow, but she couldn't remember where she'd heard it before...
"Hey, I think that's the same virus that tried attacking my COMP yesterday!" Midori said.
Nanoha raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"Wait, you mean that thing you summon demons with is suscepitble to viruses?" It probably should have been fairly obvious, but Chibiusa had fallen under the assumption it was a magical device of some sort. Actually, it still could be. But it made her think of something, "Magical computers... reminds me of home..."
Zero twitched. Ever so slightly. Chances were more than high Midori would miss it. Chibiusa had. But the more observant and suspicious of Zero Rangda and Nanoha on the other hand....
Actually, he was surprised. It wasn't normal for computers to pick up on his data that clearly. Actually, it wasn't even his name. Just a nickname of sorts he had been given after awakening from being sealed for so long. He wore it as a badge of honor, really. But a computer program had picked up on the name...?
Around his neck Zero wore a pendant that parodied his status as "Missing No." It looked like the metal back to a computer chip and was inscribed the same way. Centered was "000", a refernece to the Pokedex number many a fan had given him. Below that was the word, "Zero". It hang from a lightweight metal chain. But with the mention of Missing No. combined with the level of observance some of the current group had... well, those good at making obscure connections might put things together.
Zero quickly recovered and looked towards Midori again, "A virus attacked your COMP?"

Midori nodded. "Yeah, I don't know how, but it picked up on a virus. But I think this virus has something to do with the one that attacked all of those computers."
Now Nanoha was very curious. "What kinda virus was it, anyways? A trojan? Spyware?"
Midori thought about it. "Dunno... it was just called missingno.exe... that sounds so familliar, though!" She turned to Zero. "Do you have any idea what it is?"

Zero seemed to be thinking, "The only thing I can come up with is its some video game fan's odd idea of humor. Do you know a video game series known as Pocket Monsters?"
He paused to wait for her answer. He knew she was Japanese by her name if nothing else, so he chose to use the Japanese name of the franchise.
Chibiusa blinked a few times. Pocket what? In her defense, even if her world hadn't been innundated with magical girls that changed the development of history, the 20th century she knew was before the release of the first games.
(OOC: I have NO idea if the glitch occured in the Japanese games. Erm... I'm gonna say in Zero's canon it did. XD)

Midori shrugged. "I heard about it a couple times. Never played it though. Why?"
Nanoha had heard of Pocket Monsters herself, but she couldn't remember much about it... it had been a very long while since she'd spent an extended amount of time back home.
(OOC: It was in the Japanese version, and even had a Japanese name. I think they couldn't take it out without sifting through a bunch of data. I'm pretty sure they didn't know it could still be accessed, which is how it got found out.))

"Well, there was this one glitch in the first games. Fans called it Missing Number. So I think we're dealing with someone with a sick sense of humor," he paused, realizing it might seem odd a young adult was into Pocket Monsters, "I got spammed with some information about it doing an internet search one time. It's kind of crazy how its taken over the web."
Chibiusa shrugged, "Its not like its anything we need to concern ourselves with. Viruses aren't exactly evil."
Zero had such an urge to laugh right then. He was considered evil by everyone who knew what he was and was capable of. But he didn't even twitch, knowing the one earlier had concerned Rangda and Nanoha, "Well, the store is closed. They probably shut down their systems. I'm sure it'll be fine."
He was aware of Nanoha's world and knew that making a joke or simply agreeing with Chibiusa might be a bad idea. If she could access the computers, she might get some of his residual "DNA" so to speak. And while she'd have nothing to compare it too, he really didn't feel like the hassle. He'd get back onto the network next chance he got and do some cleanup.

Nanoha sighed. "Viruses can be very bad news. They can cause malfunctions in otherwise harmless devices and gadgets, and some of them are military related. It's possible that this Missing Number virus was trying to cause the demon summoning program to go haywire."
Midori gave a shudder. She suddenly remembered haywire COMPs, which sent out demons without control. It was a scary thought.

Zero frowned, hoping it would be taken as concern. Nanoha's conversation sounded suspicously like something to research.
"Um.. I don't know about you, but I can't exactly deal with computer systems. That's more Mercury's thing... can you handle it?" she looked to Nanoha.
S**t. This could make things complicated...
"I need to go, unfortunately," he looked to Midori, "I shall see you again,"
The way he pulled himself away seemed rather hasty...

"Wait! Why do you have to go?!" Midori pleased. "Don't leave me again, Zero!"
Nanoha finally made the connection. Missing Number. Zero. "Midori, wait!" Nanoha yelled. She pointed Raising Heart at Zero. "He's dangerous!"
"That's what I've been saying all along!" Rangda said.

Zero turned around, pulling of a clueless look rather flawlessly, "Huh?" He really did look completely confused. Totally an act, but it would convince most.
"What are you doing!?" Chibiusa exclaimed. Was she now threatening this innocent guy? Lord her day was going bad. She ran in front of the staff, "Have you lost your mind!?"
And here she thought it was Dolly she was going to have to worry about.

Nanoha didn't lower her staff. "That man isn't who you think he is. He's the virus."
Midori gasped. "No!"
"He made computers break down. And not only that, but he probably tried to break into your COMP earlier, Dolly," Nanoha explained.

Zero shrugged, "At least I won't have to deal with this annoyance anymore," he turned to Midori, "Do you realize how delusional you are? I don't know what that system of yours is, but its not magical in the least. Get over yourself,"
Chibiusa's jaw basically hit the floor at this point. She looked back an Nanoha and took a few steps backwards. She looked sadly at Midori before running off. She needed to transform and get people out there. She had finally sensed traces of magical energy from Raising Heart and had the feeling things were going to get bad.
Zero grinned his infamous evil grin, "And you, Lyrical Nanoha, seem not to have the understanding of viruses you should. You may not be technological, but she is."
Before a full reaction could be had Zero had pointed his palm towards Raising Heart. It was obvious the device wasn't pure technology, but he could at least screw up its systems for a while. He planned on taking advantage of the chaos he was sure it would cause and get away.
The distorted data from his hand shot towards the staff....
(OOC: I'll let you figure out exactly how it effs her up.)

The data hit the staff, causing Raising Heart to start to shake.
"Raising Heart?" Nanoha asked warily. The staff suddenly started shaking and loaded a full magazine of cartridges. This was very dangerous. "Raising Heart!" Nanoha screamed and dropped her staff, which started shooting off weak lasers on it's own. She stared at the staff, which began speaking in garbled english. Nanoha turned around, and gave Zero a furious look. Something that took a lot of work to achieve from Nanoha. Possibly the only thing that could have pissed Nanoha off more would be to kidnap her daughter and use her to power a weapon of mass destruction. Which already had been done, too. So this was all that was left.
Nanoha raised her hand. "Divine Shooter." Several balls of pink energy formed in midair and shot at Zero. It was clear that she didn't need her staff to fight, though it did help a little bit.
Midori was sobbing. "Wh-Why..." She lifted her COMP, and hit the summon button. "HOW COULD YOU!?" Three demons shot forth from her COMP. Astaroth, Aniel, and Yamata-no-Orochi, all three fairly high powered Demons. But most importantly, she had just summoned two more demons than she normally could, considering she already had Rangda out, which was impossible under normal circumstances without considerable will from the user of the COMP. A woman scorned indeed.

Under other circumstances Chibiusa would have found this ridiculous. Standing in a bathroom stall about to transform. But her mind was on the mission now. She held her hands to her chest, "PINK MOON CRYSTAL POWER, MAKE UP!"
In a flash of sparkles she stood in her soldier form. She held her hand in front of her face as if she were holding a sword and the Chibi Moon Kaleidoscope materialized. She kicked open the door and ran out of the bathroom, almost trampling some poor girl as she ran past.
"Stay in here!" she shouted at the dumbfounded child.
Zero moved with blinding speed, almost creating a blur. He got out of the way of the pink energy balls but managed to get tagged by a laser. It ripped his jacket and shirt open, leaving a small mark on his arm as a few pieces of data floated out. He hissed and glared at Nanoha for a few moments.
It was then that Raising Heart's lasers upgraded to something more deadly. Just one step up. The demons Midori had summoned looked ready to literally eat him "alive". He looked around rapidly, not really in panic but well aware he needed to get out. His eyes spotted on a cellphone. It was connected to the internet but its owner had left it to flee the scene. He scowled at the two girls before taking the digital distortion of his viral form and shooting into the cell.
One of Raising Heart's projectiles hit the cellphone seconds after he vanished. Chibi Moon was just now appearing back onto the scene. There was mass panic. She looked at the demons and had to fight to stand her ground. Zero was missing.
"Takamachi-san, we have to get people out of here!" She would have asked Dolly to get her demons to help, but they had gotten more intimidating. And she was more than a little worried they'd see the mob as a chance to snack...
(OOC: I'm moving Zero.)
