Somehow Atem couldn't help but think of Honda. Or Jounouchi. No, more Honda. Unfortunately the teenager had just enough of a slapstick air around him that it made him think more of Honda.
Atem let the comment bounce off him, "We have a fire set up over here if you want to join us," he said with a gesture.
"Atem, Seta-kun, are you okay?" came Yuugi's voice.
"We're fine, Partner!" Atem responded. -----
That had actually gone a bit better than he'd planned. Naoya stood up, "If no one has any objections, I can get some S'mores started."
Atem turned back to the group. He was worried about Yuugi when Kanji joined the group. So far, Souji had found two people he knew. Three people from his world, actually. He knew Yuugi was depressed about all his friends... possibly being dead. Yuugi hadn't really come across that thought much yet, but it was possible. The ruins had collapsed on top of them, and it was likely he and his partner had only been saved by the portal opening up. He wasn't going to push Yuugi into thinking about that, but it might come up what with all of the people from Souji's world showing up.
"I'm going to go back to the group," he stated. Now the "ore" had hit.

K1 started bouncing up and down like a giddy little kid. "Smores smores smores I want some smores please!" Minato couldn't help facepalming.
Finally, Naoto put down her book. "Pass me a marshmallow, please."
----------------
Kanji turned to Atem. "Hey! Don't talk like that to Senpai!"
Souji groaned. "It's fine, Kanji. Really. That's just how he talks."

You are doing nothing for their opinion of you, you realize this?
Naoya sighed as he nodded. Keiichi was trying to deal with the stress of the recent events, and sometimes he got a little silly when that happened. He hadn't had any chance to during the Lockdown, but with how things were now, it was coming out. He glanced around and quickly had a few sticks. He handed one to Naoto along with a marshmallow before he began setting up the sticks to cook the other marshmallows.
Yuugi hadn't even touched his steak until Atem said things were okay. It wasn't the tone of voice he used when he was trying to make him feel better. His eyes widened when he finally bit into the steak. Wow, that was good! He still seemed a little distracted by Atem.
Who had ignored Kanji's last comment as well, although it was more to avoid a fight since he was already halfway back to the group by the time the teenager had gotten the warning out. Now that he had his memories, he knew he probably talked what would be considered rude thanks partially to his time as a Pharaoh. It would be like expecting Naoto to use "atashi". It really did come down to the way he talked. Honorifics, as far as he were concerned, were earned. Not handed out.
"Atem, what happened?" Yuugi said as soon as he saw the tanned teenager.
"Souji found one of his friends, who from what I can tell had gotten himself lost. I'm sure he'll handle introductions when they get back," he glanced over at the cooking marshmallows, "Did I miss something?"
"Kimura-san is making S'Mores."
Atem smiled a bit and shook his head. Naoya was trying to usurp Souji's position as cook in response to the steak. He sat down and picked up his plate. This probably wasn't going to end well.

"Smoooooooores!" K1 said rather childishly. What could he say, he loved smores.
Naoto looked up at the mention of one of Souji's friends. Who was it then?
Souji and Kanji both walked through the woods back out to the main group. Naoto looked up, and blinked a little bit. "Kanji-kun. It's... good to see you again."
Kanji blushed a bit before looking away. "Oh, um..."
"How about you two sit next to each other. And..." Souji noticed that everyone was making smores. "What happened to my steak?"
Minato, the only one of the group who had bothered to eat his steak besides Yuugi, looked up. "Naoya had smores. But, wow, Souji, this is soooooo good. Seriously, guys, you need to eat some of this."
"Smoooores." K1 said. Souji was shooting the worst death-glare yet at Naoya.
"My steak, no matter how bad it is, was meant to be eaten." Souji said.

Naoya met the gaze dead on and smirked, "If you want it eaten that badly, you eat it." The tone was amazingly calm, a very nonchalant normal tone compared to Souji's near growl.
He stood up, grabbing the plate of burnt steak and holding it out to Souji, "I need to check on the marshmallows," again the tone sounded like he honestly didn't care.
Atem decided to stay quiet and cut off a piece of his steak. He took a bite out of it and raised an eyebrow. Minato was right, that was good. He looked over to Yuugi who had eaten a bit more of his, "Minato-kun, you're right! Where did you learn to cook steak like this, Seta-kun?"
The nervous flick of Yuugi's gaze over to Naoya and Souji indicated he was not unaware of how quickly this was headed downhill. He chose to go back to focusing on his steak. Atem wondered if the two were finally going to slug it out. Naoya didn't seem the type to fistfight, and had to admit he saw Naoya winning through mind games. Brains did tend to beat brawn, after all.

Souji smirked at Naoya before turning to Yuugi. "My parents always worked during the day, so I taught myself how to cook. Anything's better than instant ramen." He got more practice while staying at Dojima's house, since Nanako did most of the cooking, and while she was good, she was still seven and thus couldn't cook too many things. She tended to burn her food too, which didn't work too well.
"Sensei, you made grilled steak? Alright!" Kanji grabbed K1's steak and sat down next to Naoto, who was more focused on toasting her marshmallow.
Minato was finishing up his steak, as he wished that he could actually cook well himself so that he could make some of this. This was some really good steak.

Naoya shrugged and placed the plate full of burnt steak on one of the logs the group were using as seats and pulled out one of the marshmallows.
"Keiichi, would you stop nibbling long enough to help me here? I only have so many hands," it was actually fairly soft for Naoya. He was back to resembling a mean out of kindness older brother.
Yuugi waved towards Kanji and bowed the best he could from his sitting with a plate full of steak in his lap position, "I'm Mutou Yuugi. I guess you've already met Atem."
Atem watched for Kanji's reaction with one eye, the other focused on cutting his steak. They hadn't exactly gotten off on the best foot thanks to the way Atem spoke. He was wondering who was going to ask about his lack of surname usage first. Naoto or Kanji. Neither of them knew he was, or at least once was, from Ancient Egypt. Not that Atem would have been surprised had Naoto figured it out.

K1 finished up his graham cracker and stood up. "Sure." He grabbed a couple sticks with marshmallows already on them and started toasting them.
Kanji looked up as he was in the middle of a bite. "'Sup. I'm Tatsumi Kanji and--" He stopped as he saw the horridly stitched up sleeve on Yuugi's jacket. "Hey! What'd you do to your jacket?!" He stood up and walked over. Naoto and Minato looked over at Kanji before going back to what they were doing.

Okay, Atem hadn't quite expected that. Yuugi blinked a few times, seemingly unaware of what he was referencing. He looked down at where he was staring. Oh, right.
"It got cut... I tried to fix it the best I could... the shirt's patched up the same way," Yuugi looked up, "Um.. why?"
Naoya felt like facepalming, "I meant help me with the crackers and chocolate, not put on more marshmallows," although it still carried that hint of kindness. Souji would probably not be pleased with how similar the tone was to how he would sometimes speak to Nanako.

"Take it off and give it to me. I'll fix it up real good," Kanji said. He was rather good at sewing, and always kept a needle and some thread on him at all times. Of course, it wasn't something he advertised.
"Oh." K1 said. He pulled the marshmallow off and put it and some chocolate together on a graham cracker. "First smore's done if anyone wants one."
Souji glared at Naoya (really, his face was more locked into a glare at him), this time because of how Naoya was talking. And then he took a smore.

Yuugi blinked. That was unexpected. However, he pulled the jacket off. Which revealed the poorly sewn tear in his shirt. He didn't really want to take that off in the Autumn weather. He caught movement out of the corner of his eye and saw Atem had unfastened his jacket and was holding it out to him. And wasn't looking directly at him.
"Atem...?"
"...you don't need to be out here without a shirt on."
"I wasn't-"
"Give Kanji the shirt."
Atem was actually in a fairly awkward position. He was trying to look interested in the bush behind him so the fire wouldn't illuminate his face. Somehow Yuugi had gotten to him again and he had a very slight blush. Yuugi realized what was going on and his face flushed too, which resulted in quickly yanking his t-shirt up. He grabbed the coat before the t-shirt was all the way up and pulled a rather smooth switch so his face had time to return to a normal complexion before he got the jacket on.
Yuugi held out the jacket and shirt, "T-thanks," he managed to get out towards the bleached haired teen.
Naoya returned Souji's glare with a simple smirk. The teen was obviously having trouble staying calm around him. If they ever did get into a fight, it was clear who would have the upper hand. Although he wasn't sure what the glare was for this time. It seemed to not be a generic one, and had come right after his last comment to Keiichi. Was the teen annoyed at the sibling like relationship he had with his cousin?
Naoya returned his focus to the marshmallows, quickly making a few more and allowing the others to pass them around. Enough had been made for everyone to have one before he sat down again.

Kanji flushed and took the shirt and jacket before turning away to examine the stitching. "W-What did you do to this jacket?! This stitching is horrid!" He grumbled to himself before sitting back down next to Naoto. He looked up at Souji. "Hey, Senpai! Pass me one of those knives! One that doesn't have anything on it."
"You're just going to cut the stitches open?" Souji asked. He handed it to Kanji.
"Yeah. Faster that way." He turned to Yuugi. "Hey! Next time you have something like this happen, get a professional to patch it up!" He then got to work slowly and carefully pulling the stitches open with the knife.
Minato took a smore from K1, and handed the plate around to Naoto.

Yuugi looked guilty, and Kanji got a glare from Atem, "Hey, back off."
"A-Atem, you don't need to be rude! He doesn't know about the situation with the TV World, Adachi-san, and the Puzzle!"
And you're embarassing me! I mean... Yuugi looked straight down, taking a huge bite of S'more and having to toss it around his mouth with his tongue to avoid burning himself much. At least it would give him an excuse to not talk more.
Naoya kept quiet, but Yuugi had likely just opened a rather "fun" topic of conversation. Considering Kanji had been more than a little involved in that situation back in Souji's world.

Kanji stood up. "Adachi!? Wh-What, is that bastard here!? No way!"
Souji looked away and nodded. "We don't know where he is, though. He disappeared some time after pushing Atem into the TV."
"That bastard... he said that he was going to clean up after himself too! We need to go catch him!" Kanji said. He looked around. "Why are you all sitting around?! Come on! Let's go!"
"Kanji, we don't even know where to look with Adachi," Naoto said, standing up too as she said this. She gave a sideways look at Souji. "Souji's been rather stressed lately. It would not be a good idea to go after Adachi now." Between Souji "issues" lately, mainly stemming from being around Naoya and Adachi, and Atem, it was likely Adachi would just end up dead if they did that.
K1 and Minato both looked on, not sure what to say.

"Partner..."
Yuugi had already realized what he'd done, of course. He clamped his hands over his mouth and looked extremely guilty. They were supposed to be relaxing, and he was bringing topics like this up.
"I'm really sorry! I wasn't thinking!" Yuugi had said it with the "sumimasen" reserved for situations where one is at a great fault or has done something extremely stupid in terms of polite Japanese society. Atem looked momentarily depressed and stood up.
"Yuugi and I are going to bed. I think we're all a bit stressed," he stated. Yuugi looked up with some mix of guilt and gratefulness and nodded as he stood up.
"I am really sorry..." he said. Atem waited for him to pass before following after.
He did pause next to Kanji, however, "I'm sorry, but could you just set those in the main room when you're done?" After gesturing to the clothes he headed off after Yuugi. He hadn't been lying. He was stressed and more tired than likely the rest of the group. Fact was it was known to take over a week for one to recover from the TV World, and it had only been a few days for him. And it was more than possible Yuugi was picking up on his fatigue.
Naoya glanced at Kanji, "Naoto is right. Besides, Adachi is working with the police on the island as a detective. It won't be easy to pin him with any charges."
