It is a quiet day in the village. This village has been isolated from human contact and is inhabited only by Pokemon, who have developed their own, complex society. Well, okay, it seems quiet...
Our story leads us to a small hut, where a futureidiot heroine will be born.
...
Okay, hatched.
"Mom! Dad! Come quick! It's hatching!" came the cry of a blue Pichu. A blue Raichu and a darker-colored Pikachu with purple hair ran over to see what she was yelling about. When they saw the egg, they knew what was happening.
"Tsunamichu, we have another child. Quick, we must be ready when it fully hatches." said the Pikachu to the Raichu, who nodded.
"Indeed, Viochu. It's just what Surfachu needed. She really needed a sibling. Surfachu... Wait, what's happening?" said the Raichu, Tsunamichu. The egg was hatching feet-first.
"Surfachu! Fetch Kilometers! And fast!' yelled Viochu to the blue Pichu. Understanding the situation in spite of her young age, Surfachu ran out the door, looking for the village doctor. From there, Tsunamichu and Viochu turned to the egg.
"Tsunamichu! We must open the top of the egg! Me must not let it die before it is born!"
Tsunamichu nodded, and his fingers began glowing white. A weak Focus Punch should open the egg. His wife did the same, only her fingers were glowing orange for a weaker Brick Break.
---
"Watch the egg. Notify me if it hatches." said a green Feraligatr with scarlet eyes to her mate, an ordinary one. After hearing young Surfachu's tale, she knew what she had to do.
"Be fast, my love. Make sure the new life makes it." said her husband. The female, Kilometers, ran as fast as she could on all fours. Each second wasted was a second that could be used to save Surfachu's sibling. Kilometers followed her, all the way across the beach dividing the village.
"My parents said they'd be trying to open the top of her egg so she can breath. We must hurry, for very second we delay, the higher the chance of it dying." Surfachu said, running ahead. Kilometers was wondering something.
"They say that those who hatch feet-first are destined for greater things, and that very few instances have been recorded over the years."
---
By now, Tsunamichu and Viochu were cursing the strength they passed down to their child. It had made the egg stronger, harder to crack. Tsunamichu was now throwing Thunderpunches, and beside him, Viochu was using Iron Tail. It truely was a tough egg to crack.
"Do you think it is one of what they call the Bad Eggs? The eggs that hatch into partially-formed Pokemon?" said Tsunamichu, preparing for another hit. His wife shook her head, tail glowing white.
"No. All Bad Eggs hatch head-first, and are usually the result of elderly parents. We are young, and it hatched feet-first. Where is Surfachu?"
The blue Pichu ran in, an exhausted Kilometers behind her. When the Feraligatr noticed the parents trying to free their child, she could barely restrain her maternal insticts to assist in breaking the eggshell.
"Hold still. I will break the egg." she said, walking up to the egg with feet. Her teeth glowed purple for Crunch. With both ferocity and gentleness, her teeth clamped down on the top of the egg. A crack formed. She adjusted her mouth, not knowing where the new life was. When she found the very top, she bit down hard, ripping off that piece. Good, she observed. The newborn was all there. Her claws entered the egg, feeling the edges.
Tsunamichu and Viochu stood back, with Surfachu nearby. They knew Kilometers was an experienced nurse, who had opened many eggs in the past. Still, they were worried. What if she hurt the child inside?
A crack was heard, and Kilometers stood with a broken eggshell. The child had arrived. Then they all noticed something odd about the child...
The child was not a Pichu as expected. It was already a Pikachu! It looked like Viochu, with its dark fur and purple hair. Its eyes were closed, looking like it was sleeping. A notch was visible on its tail.
Tsunamichu and Viochu ran up to their new child- a girl, confirmed by the notch in its tail- to see if she was breathing. With a sigh of relief, they were plased to learn she was alive.
Surfachu looked at her new sister. Despite being born a Pikachu, she was even smaller than her, a Pichu.
The newborn's eyes opened. They were a shocking green, unlike the blue of Tsunamichu and Surfachu, and the yellow of Viochu. She looked tired. Well, after that whole ordeal trying to get out of your egg, who wouldn't.
Kilometers gave a gentle smile. That was the most satisifying thing about being a nurse. The happiness that comes to the parents of a new life also was present to her profession. Her hand stroked the newborn's fur, making sure not to scratch her.
"Congratulations, Tsunamichu and Viochu, you have a new daughter. What shall you name her?"
Tsunamichu and Viochu looked at each other, remembering the list of names they had complied for a second daughter. However, only one came to mind. Luckily, it was a good one.
"We shall name her Tanachu. Tanachu Xentas Pikachu... The Pikachu born already in that stage of evolution, born feet-first."
