Back in Wally and Otto's room, Wally could almost feel the trouble brewing...
"Oooooh... Lina's gonna get pissed off and launch the-" He was cut off when the TV before him started to let out that infamous magical chant. "I knew it, I knew it, that dude is DEAD MEAT." One could swear his face would've proved that it WAS all possible to make a 'XD' face.
Okay so he couldn't. But come ON, Wally wasn't as serious as Otto and he never would be. An explosion sounded on TV, and Wally laughed as the comic chaos ensued. "Wow! Look at dos monsters scramble!"
Sitting next to him was Helga, whom was enjoying the show as much as Wally was. Given that she was born and raised in Japan, she was practically born and raised on entertainment like this. And 'the Slayers' was a classic that would never grow old. "Hahahahahah! Lina-san has quite the temper on her! No wonder she's called the 'Dragon Spooker'!" She turned to her faithful canine companion. "Wouldn't you say so, Courage?"
Neither of them noticed the door open and someone entering the room...
Neither did they notice Otto Shinryu, his face darkened, his expression unreadable, but clearly under a lot of emotional stress. He walked silently and slowly away from the door, before reaching the door leading to his room.
Helga was the first to notice Otto, smiling to him sweetly. "Oh Otto-san! How went-" That was when she noticed the cold, emotionless... well MORE emotionless look in his face. "the... Meeting... at Double D... San's... Place?"
Otto didn't answer. Which concerned Wally when he turned to face him.

Courage, sitting in Wally's lap, perked up an ear, whining in confusion. He hopped off the lad as he moved to stand, cuddling close to Helga in fear of another burst of anger. He was learning how Otto got. At least he wouldn't take it out on others, but it was still alittle scary.

........ All was silent... Otto unintentionally shooting a glare at both Wally and Helga. That was how cold his face seemed. After a second, he turned from the two, opened up the door to his room...
SLAAAAAAAAAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And slammed it shut, with such force, it wasn't surprising that the apartment shook slightly. Such a motion ended up startling Helga, whom had grabbed Courage for comfort. Wally meanwhile, got up from his seat, pausing the show on TV with a remote before walking over to the door. "M-Mate?" He shivered a little as he knocked on his door. "M-mate? What... What's the matter?"
He wasn't necessarily surprised to hear no response, nor, when he tried to open the door, to find it locked. "Aw, come on mate... I haven't seen you THIS out of sorts since... Since..." He could've finished that sentence with 'Aryssa's death', but likely Otto had found something else to sulk about and didn't need the reminder. Clearing his throat, he knocked on the door once more. "Mate? Ottomo... Are you-?"
"Wally... I'm not in the mood..."
What really surprised Wally however, was the fact that he sounded almost... Sad. That was when he KNEW something was wrong. Even if something sad did happen before Otto, a lot of the time he kept a straight face, and a steady voice...
But there, it actually sounded like he was keeping himself from crying...
Gulping, the boy took a step back, suddenly looking less cheery then before. "O-okay, mate... Whatever you say..."
No amount of 'The Slayers' comedy would be enough to cheer him up either.

Some time passed, and when the DVD finished, the apartment was left in an uneasy silence. Courage huddled close to Helga, nearly suffocating in the silence.
He nearly jumped when a knock came at the door, albeit soft and slow, as if hesitant.

The first one to react (Well aside from Courage) was Helga, whom got out of her seat. "I-I'll get it." She quickly circled the couch and walked to the door.
Taking a look through the peek hole, she was surprised by who she saw. "Oh!" Opening the door, she found Double D standing behind the door. "Double D-san."
That word alone caught Wally's attention.
"Mate!!" With a feet worthy of olympic acrobatics, Wally jumped to his feet, did a backflip and a twirl over the couch, till he landed with his feet on the floor, him facing Double D...
And his face more then said he was worried greatly. "Double-D! What happened at your place? Otto came back even gloomier then usual..."
That coming from Wally, made it sound like an understatement... Of the decade... of any given decade even.

Double D's overall demeanor was not very uplifting either. Though he did take a step back at Wally's feat in surprise, forcing out a single chuckle. Energetic and happy as ever... at least some things never change.
At his questions, his forced smile dropped. "...Otto didn't tell you...?"

"Didn't tell us what?" Wally looked genuinely confused at that. "He hasn't said a word since he got back." He shook his head, "What's going on Double D? I haven't seen him that shook up in... Ever..."
One could easily tell Helga was in the same boat. "All he did when he got back was go to his room... Otto-san hasn't moved since..."

"...that's to be expected," Double D heavily noted. "Many of us were shaken speechless by the news too..."
He ventured a step forward. "May I... come in? Perhaps I can persuade him to come out. We... all need to have a talk."

That was when Wally started to get uneasy. Something just wasn't quite right here. "Uh... Sure..." He moved aside, allowing Double D inside. "Come on in."
Once Double D was inside, Helga closed the door, and walked up to him. "Talk about what Double D-san?"

"...Otto?" he called out, hoping the darkbender would hear him. "...I'd understand if you don't want to face me right now... believe me, it's hard on all of us..."
He cleared his throat. "...but we can't let this sow the seeds of fear in us. At least... not for me. I myself refuse to let this new information break me.
"So please... let's talk this through."

It's usually known that Otto liked to meditate whenever he was troubled or just whenever he wanted to. He was willfull like that...
So it came as little surprise when no answer came at Double D's calls.
"Otto..." Wally tried next, knocking on the dark bender's door. "Otto-mate, come on, listen to him..." He appeared to look confused but determined. "I don't know what the heck is going on, but... I absolutely agree with Double D..." He took a deep breath. "Come on mate... Be understanding... At least Double D is here... What would you do if it was Aryssa?"
"Wally-ni-chan!" Came Helga, knowing better then anyone that that was a sore-subject for Otto. "You didn't have to go there."
A nod was her response. "I know... But he needs to listen..." Before he turned to Double D, "And frankly curiousity is killing me right now."
'Click'... ... ...
......................................
....................................................
Turning to the door, the others backed off, allowing it to open slowly...
Otto stood there, head lowered, unable to look Double D in the eye. "Double D..." He said weakly. One factor that could be noticeable was the fact that Otto's bandana was missing, revealing the hair underneath, as well as letting his hair fall to full length; down to his upper back as it seemed. It almost made him appear more... Dare one think it; vulnerable. "I..."
[What I went for when I made Otto's hair that long was to make it like something of a pledge to himself. One that, when complete or broken he would actually cut his hair. It's sorta like an old fashioned vow. It could be for mourning (Where he could still be mourning Aryssa even after so long), or something else entirely. You decide.]

Sympathy pained Double D's heart, evident in his mournful expression. Between the two of them, they were saying more than words ever could.
Wordlessly, the angel stepped forward and brought the proud darkbender into his arms, holding him tight in attempts of comfort. The apartment was once again silent for some time.
"...Wally," Double D finally spoke, his gaze a million miles away. "If you must know... we discovered the identity of the Wizard."

Wally's eyes opened wide when he heard that, not at all surprised by the embrace. "Really? Wow!" He smiled a little to himself as he hopped on one foot then another, almost running in place. "Well who is he then mates? This sounds like it could be interestin!"
"More then you know..." Wally looked to Otto, whom had seperated from Double D. His gaze was still lowered, his expression between flat and sad. "He's... He's in this very room in fact."
That really sent Wally on edge. "He is?!" He entered a battle ready position, looking around wildly. "Where is he?! I'll take the first blow at him, I'll-!"
THWACK!!!
Vulnerable as Otto was, he still had the same punch, as evident as Wally rubbed the bump on the back of his head. Helga looked confused as this happened... "Wh-... Where is he then Otto-san?"
Otto took a few steps back...
Then motioned to Double D.
"Everyone... Say hello to the person that will soon become the Wizard."

Courage gasped. Of course.
At this phrase, Double D winced, averting his gaze in shame. He held his own arms needingly; he was almost afraid that embrace with Otto would be the last ounce of warmth he'd ever be given.

Wally, of course, was shocked. Of course, that just sorta went without saying. He stood there, his jaw was agape, his eyes wide, and pupils almost microscopic. In a way, he had just aged his face by a few years. Helga meanwhile, looked on, confusion apparent on her face. "But... D-Double-D-san is not a monster. Wally had called the Wizard a monster..."
Wally's face went into even more hysterics after that. "Uh, I never said that!" He shook his head at Helga, whom instantly regretted what she said. Wally turned to Otto, looking confused as hell. "But... How?"
A shake of the head then "That was the Wizard's goal from the very beginning; make Double D crack mentally and make him go crazy, thus creating the Wizard." He sighed. "We were told this just today... By TRUMP of all people."
"You mean that psycho that attacked you back at the church?"
"The one and the same."
Helga took in this conversation, her expression saddened considerably... She walked up to Double D, seeing his equal saddened expression...
The angel felt the girl's arms wrap around him tenderly. "Double D... I'm so sorry..."
