(OOC: Yugioh, Persona, ask me or Mugen, yaddayaddayadda you all know this already)
Tohru Adachi, 28, single, was wondering what the hell he was doing. It had been a routine call down to the station. Once again, he'd screwed up some paperwork, and since he was the only one who knew crap about Apathy Syndrome, he had to come down and fix it. What he hadn't expected was a kid with white hair (not that that was weird on this Island) who really needed a haircut to come stumbling through the door, pass out from hunger, and then reveal himself to be possessed by YET ANOTHER cursed Egyptian Artifact. And this one was murderous, and fast. This particular kid had managed to steal his gun from him without Adachi even noticing.
And now he was taking this same kid, who, when not possessed, was actually a nice kid who didn't think he was the devil, unlike Dojima's nephew. It was nice to have someone who liked him for once.
It still didn't change the fact that he was currently leading a kid who had managed to freak the fuck out of him before down to the apartments to meet up with a kid who did hate Adachi, oh, and to feed this kid. He looked like he was about to collapse on his feet.
Adachi looked back at Bakura to make sure he was still following. That Ring he'd been wearing before wasn't there now... well, that could cause problems with getting it away from him. Adachi wasn't going to take any chances with this one. He wasn't going to toss it into the TV World, that hadn't worked the last time, but maybe melting it would work...

Bakura looked up at Adachi as he looked back. He did look ready to pass out on his feet but was walking a little better. He smiled in a manner he hoped was reassuring. His eye widened and he pointed forward.
"Adachi-san, look out!"
Adachi was about to walk into the side of a lamp post outside just outside the apartments.

Adachi turned around just as he was about to run smack dab into the lamp-post. Unfortunately he didn't turn around fast enough, and got a lamp post in the face. He grimaced and pulled away. "Ow..."
---------------
In another part of the complex, near the entrance, Minato, Yuugi, and Atem were on their way back from the Arcade.
"I can't believe you managed to beat me this time, Yuugi," Minato said to Yuugi. The last time, he'd won at that game. This time? Not so much. He'd improved.

"Adac-" Bakura had been approaching Adachi to check on him when it felt like someone had just put a hot coal through his chest. That heat rested there and he hissed as it seemed to melt out of his skin.
Coupled with a glow at his chest. That was new and unsettling. Before he could notice it, however, his stance had shifted. The Ring surfaced with a bit much in the way of force. As in it seemed to almost rise off his chest after coming out from under his shirt. Anpu grabbed it and suddenly the chime-like prongs hanging off of it pointed to the side. He raised an eyebrow and looked up at Adachi.
"I'd say the Pharaoh has come home to roost. It only does this around one of the Millenium Items or some concentrated darkness."
One of the Millenium Items. Which implied there was more than the Ring and Puzzle...
----------
Yuugi was grinning. There was only a very slight trace of it being forced. It was partially cause of the way Yuugi's mind worked. In general he went over the same issue fifty million times before possibly letting it rest. He was the type that came up with a witty comeback to a comment a week after the comment had occurred.
As for Yuugi's win... he was more accepting of the Island than he had been. That and he seemed to be a better person with Atem actually there as opposed to being in his heart as he had been known to put it. Not just in confidence, although that was a big part of it. Atem had a soft smile as well. He was grateful to Minato that his partner was feeling better. He needed to tell him that later.
"I remembered I'd played it once shortly after I started hanging out with Jounouchi-kun and Honda-kun. We would sometimes go to the arcade. I guess I was too stressed before to think about that," Yuugi said, a bit nervously. He paused for a moment and looked over to Atem. The former Pharaoh had a quizzical look on his face.
"...the Puzzle is picking up on something," he said after a few moments. It was faint, but it seemed familiar somehow...

Adachi had paled when Bakura had grabbed his chest. Dammit, and he'd just been getting used to being around the kid again, too! He attempted to regain his composure when Anpu took control, but then lost it immediately after Anpu said "one of the Millenium Items."
"Millenium Items? As in PLURAL?!" Adachi said. He was panicking at this point. "And if that's picking up on the Pharoah, then..." He paled... again. Shit. That meant they were back already. Which didn't fare well for Adachi. He hadn't exactly had a good encounter with the three before they'd left.
-----------------
"It's picking up on something?" Minato asked. "Hey, wait... the Puzzle can find your friends, right? Maybe a friend of yours has shown up on the island!"
That was an overly optimistic way of thinking, but Minato couldn't think of any other things to say.

Yuugi shook his head, "It's different. It reminds me of-" Yuugi cut himself off and the color drained from his face.
Atem's eyes narrowed, "It could be. When that tunnel collapsed the only one of the Items we managed to keep was the Puzzle."
"But it hasn't reacted here before... that means someone has it. Atem, you said the evil was gone from the Items, right?"
Atem nodded, but his expression was grave, "Which direction?"
Yuugi closed his eyes and a slight power pulsed from the Pendant. He opened and pointed, "That way! Minato-kun, this is dangerous you should stay here!"
Yuugi took off. Atem looked back at Minato and seemed apologetic before running after Yuugi. It had not been a confirmation that he agreed with Yuugi, but it hadn't been a denial either. He'd wanted to apologize and ask Minato to come, but Yuugi was pulling away from the group quickly. It wasn't panic, per se, but more a serious concern.
----------
"There are seven Items, but now is not the time,"
Anpu focused on the Ring. If he understood the powers right between his life in Egypt and what little his host seemed to know about it, he could will the reaction to another Item to go down. The prongs did indeed lower and he quickly placed it under his shirt. Only the rope would be visible.
"As far as you know, I'm Bakura," Anpu stated flatly. His stance shifted and it seemed to be Bakura, but he didn't look about ready to fall down.
He and Adachi had managed to be on the other side of the complex. It would be a minute or two before Yuugi, Atem, and possibly Minato reached them.

Minato panicked. What could be so bad that Yuugi was reacting like this?!
"No way, I'm coming with you!" Minato yelled as he ran after Yuugi and Atem. The only things he could think of that could cause this kind of reaction were maybe someone evil, someone vile from their own world... but who?
----------------
Adachi didn't like where this was going. At all. This meant that Anpu could copy Bakura. And the only way he'd be able to tell that Anpu was in control would be if he managed to see the Ring.
He was sick and TIRED of ancient Egyptian cursed artifacts.

Yuugi, Atem, and Minato turned the corner and Yuugi skidded to a stop. He actually pitched forward, having to wave his arms to not faceplant. Atem came to a calmer stop and his eyes widened. It was Bakura... and the Pendant. No.
Atem wasn't even aware as he forcefully shook his head. The evil was gone from the Ring. He wished he could convince himself of that but there was the unignorable fact of a familiar cord around Bakura's neck, even if what was hanging on it was under his shirt. And even if it was the real Bakura, Adachi was with him. And he looked frightened.
"B-Bakura-kun...?" Yuugi forced out.
"Yuugi-kun! And... um... Yuugi-kun...?" Bakura's face looked slightly broken.
Atem tried to soften his gaze. If it really was Bakura, he had no right to look at the teenager harshly. He shook his head, "My name is Atem. You might remember me as Dark Yuugi... back during that game your other self put Par...Yuugi-tachi through?"
Bakura remembered. He still had a very faint scar on his left palm when "his other self" had impaled his hand on the spire of a model castle. But that person had been some kind of alternate personality for Yuugi, right? Then again, his "other self" wasn't that for him. And that Yuugi hadn't been a foreigner, either. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out.
"Bakura-kun, what's around your neck...?" Yuugi asked carefully. He was afraid of the answer. If it was what he thought it was, there was no guarantee they were speaking to Bakura. But they'd defeated Zorc, hadn't they?
Atem noticed Bakura was avoiding looking at him. It could be explained by an inability to process the whole Dark Yuugi being seperate thing. It could be explained by exhaustion, Bakura looked pretty beat up. But no explanation explained how the Pendant had reacted and lead Yuugi to this spot. It wasn't in character for Dark Bakura... for Zorc to play the field carefully. He would have come out to show off by now. Besides, he knew Yuugi and he knew about him. So what...?

Minato scowled as he saw Adachi, and then smiled a bit as he saw Bakura. It was someone they knew, AND it looked like the good Bakura. And then he returned to scowling. So Adachi (even in his head he was thinking it with absolute hate; that was the only way Souji practically ever said Adachi's name. And that wasn't counting some of the more colorful euphemisms he used for Adachi earlier) was hanging out with Bakura? No. That was screwed up.
"What are you doing with Bakura anyway?" Minato demanded. Adachi flinched.
"H-He showed up half starved at the police station! I couldn't keep feeding him everyone else's lunches, so I was going to bring him here!" Adachi said.
Well, Adachi did have a point. Bakura was holding himself well at the moment, but Minato could tell that he probably was starving. After all, the one time you ever see Bakura eating in the series was when he's tearing into a rather bloody steak.
Minato's eyes moved to the cord he could see around Bakura's neck. Was that the Ring?

Bakuran looked a bit tired and he was suddenly wobbling. Despite the height difference and concern about the rope, Yuugi rushed forward to Bakura. It was a good thing he had, Bakura collapsed. Atem saw it happening and seemed to hesitate a moment before going over to where Yuugi was trying to keep Bakura on his feet.
"I've got him, Partner. Bakura, are you alright?"
"I-I'm fine... Yuugi-kun, did you..." Bakura hesitated. He had. He'd said something was around his neck.
The white haired teenager lifted his hand slowly and deliberately. Yuugi realized that he hadn't known about the cord until it had been pointed out to him. A surge of energy seemed to pass between the Pendant and the Ring. It was enough that Minato and Adachi would see a slight glow. Before anyone could react both Yuugi and Atem were shoved back and Anpu leapt back. In retrospect, he realized he should have let Bakura fully surface sooner than he had.
Yuugi hit the ground at an awkward angle. Atem had recovered better, and had turned and was glaring at who could only be Zorc. Anpu was holding himself in a way that looked like he was about to pounce. Which way was unclear, even to the most observant members of the group.
"Zorc!" Atem spat.
Yuugi got to his feet and stared. His eyes did carry some fear now. But most of all, they carried unhindered disbelief. It couldn't be Zorc. Atem had fused the three gods and destroyed the evil that was Zorc. Atem had gotten his memory back, but it had been such a fight. He looked like he was about to cry. Zorc couldn't be back, could he?"

Minato jumped when the glow formed at Bakura's chest. Adachi only looked a bit... sad? Was Rapedachi actually looking regretful about something? Minato realized something. Adachi had been around the last time this had happened. That look of fear on Adachi's face when they showed up... he knew that the Ring was there.
But the fact remained that the Other Bakura was still in the Ring. Which was absolutely screwed up. Minato took up a defensive stance.
"...A-Anpu, er... -san, maybe we should go..." Adachi said.

Both Yuugi and Atem turned their head as Adachi addressed "Anpu". Atem quickly refocused on the opponent. Zorc had never called hiimself anything other than Bakura. Even in that "ultimate game of darkness" he'd only referred to himself as Zorc after the avatar of his true form had awoken. So why would Adachi know him as anything else. Let alone Anpu?
There were signs... the fact was, "Bakura" wasn't holding himself quite like Zorc ever had. It was mo light on his feet, more like a gymnast or a... wait.
As Atem was processing the thoughts in his head, Yuugi was processing his own. Not Zorc or Dark Bakura. That was some kind of twisted relief. Anpu.. he thought over the time he'd spent with Atem. Why was that name familiar? His eyes widened. Anpu... An... Anubis!?
Both of those thoughts happened in a split second. Anpu scowled at Atem, giving no concern to the short near-clone to his side. Actually, the one his host knew as Yuugi resembled the Pharaoh in a similar fashion to how his host resembled him. His glare was harsh. It was the type of glare Souji was known for giving Adachi or Minato might give to the deceased chairman of their group. There was a hateful history there, for sure.
"That demon is no longer in control of my soul," growled Anpu, "You never did bother to learn my name, though, did you?"
He was ignoring Adachi by this point, and the hatred in his eyes looked like it would cause him to explode in a split second.

Adachi flinched again. Oh, this wasn't going well... He really couldn't think of anything to say to diffuse this situation.
Minato glared at Adachi some more before looking at Bakura, or rather, Anpu, he supposed. So this was the Other Bakura... but he wasn't being controlled by Zorc anymore? What was going on?

Atem's voice had enough of a growl to it that Yuugi took a step back, "I saw no reason to learn the name of the man who announced himself by dragging my father's sarcophogas into the throne room!"
Most of the pieces had fallen into place here. He wasn't sure how the Thief King of Ancient Egypt was here, but it had to be him. Yuugi's eyes widened as Atem spoke. He had done what!? Yuugi shot his focus back towards Anpu. He had been in Atem's Memory World for some time, but that hadn't occurred. And he was as aware as Atem was that the events of that "game" didn't quite match history.
Atem put his hand to his side and flipped open his deck pouch. He was grateful it was on him. Anpu's eyes fell on the deck and he smirked as Atem pulled out five cards. That was info he could use, but he didn't want to lose all his trumps in one spot. He switched tactics.
"Of course you'd go for your Ka. Kill the only one who knows your sin, right?"

Minato blinked. Sarcophagus?! So the other Bakura-- er, Anpu, dragged the dead body of Atem's father into the throne room? That was fucked up.
Adachi paled. And this was the kid he was associating himself with: a half-starved-to-death kid who needed a haircut who was possessed by a grave robber who was possessing an ancient Egyptian pendant.
And then the "sin" line came. Minato turned to Atem, a questioning look on his face. What did Atem do?
