Don't mind me. I know I'm way behind in political shit, so I had no clue who the WBC were. Then I read their article on Wikipedia, and I simply HAD to writie something about it or else it would bother me for the rest of the day. I apologize, there's enough religious rants here, but I feel the need to get it off my chest.
Wow. Just, wow. It's... fucking amazing. I don't know what other word to use to describe such astounding bigotry.
Seriously. I'm not a religious person, but if I were, I'd be TOTALLY EMBARESSED by this outragous group of people. All other religious factions deny affiliation. Hell, governmental agencies classify them as a cult and a hate group, so what makes them think ANYONE will take them seriously?
Freedom of speech my ass, not when you go out to deliberately hurt someone. Oh, yeah, they admit it. They say they're trying to scare us back on track. Well, fuck you. Fear tactics don't work in school, the workplace, or anywhere else, bitch. They are terrorists. They are fucking terrorists by every definition of the word.
Condoning natural disasters as God's punishment? Give me a fucking break! How fucked up in the head do you have to BE to praise massive death? What would they say if God turned around and burned down their precious church, killing some of their members in the process? What would they say then?
Protesting at funerals? How fucking disrespectful can you get? A person is being laid to rest, and you have the gall to to focus on their sexual orientation? Why the fuck does that MATTER?

I thought God was about love. I thought God created us all and loves us all equally. So does He really hate someone for having sex with the same gender?
Okay, you will never get this from me again, but I'll take stuff directly from the Bible.
Proverbs 6:16-19 tells us, "There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers."
Where, oh where, in that statement does it say homosexuality? Hmm?
Now, based on that, God Hates Liars and God Hates Murderers are slogons I could understand. Protesting dishonest coporate leaders and sexual offenders, I could completely condone. But not homosexuality, because it does not directly state that He hates it.
However, I'm well aware that homosexuality is labeled as sin, an abomination, a rebellion against God, throughout the book. BUT, it is NOT labelled as a "greater" sin than any other sin. So, IF that was truly the case (I'm not saying it is, just thinking hypothetically), homosexuality cannot be the SOLE cause of the world's problems. How's greed, dishonesty, and mass murder sound?
Even IF it is labelled a sin, however, God does NOT directly punish sinners anyway! He simply "gives them over;" revokes his responsibility over the sinner and allows them to continue in their sinful desires and reep the consequences by themselves. He does NOT send out fires and earthquakes and hurricanes to exact His vengeance. The Old Testament God, MAYBE (I know LESS of the Old Testemant then the New one, which is next to nothing anyway XD), but not the new one.
Natural disasters are caused by the very planet we fucked up anyway, so I can hardly believe He'd cause them in the first place.
And this group claims that God not only hates homosexuals, but Catholics, Protestants, the Orthodox church, Jews, Muslims, Hindis, racial minorties...let's see, that's only EVERYBODY.
I cannot, WILL not believe that God has THAT much hate, IF He has any at all. As I said before, I always thought He promoted love, and to express His word in a loving, gentle manner, not through fear and hatred.

Really, Fred? Are you that mentally ill that you blame a court reporter on your own idoicy? That you have the gall to completely BADGER her in a court of law? And then blatantly lie about witnesses that could prove information that was irrelevant in the first place?
Who the fuck gave you your degree of law? 'Cause in that case alone, that's a HEFTY number of unlawful practices rolled into one. And going against a court reporter? No WONDER she kicked your ass, getting the affidavits right on the ball; SHE knew what the fuck she was doing.

In conclusion, I don't understand why groups like these are able to continue what they do unhindered. Freedom of speech, yeah yeah, but how do the people themselves allow this to continue?
But, then again, I guess ignoring them is the best thing you can do. Protesting against 'em, giving them media attention, that's the best you could give 'em. It's like dealing with a bully; if you ignore them, and you don't respond to their antics anymore, they lose interest and move on.
