I doubt it. Like hell there would be. Sakurai isn't that cool... Of course, if he is, then we can rip off a million different companies. Speaking of which...
Capcom's Leon Kennedy. Now that he's on the Wii in Resident Evil 4, he would so kick ass in Brawl. I'm actually putting him in my Subspace Emissary story along with Ronixis Kenni from the original Star Ocean, which debuted on the NES... or was it SNES... either way, it was on the Nintendo before Star Ocean 2 came out on the PS1 and Claude Kenni was introduced.

Slow down, Felix. If they DO go through with this (unlikely), they'll start with the characters almost everyone wants (i.e. Geno, Krystal, Midna etc.) Possibly, they'll also bring back Dr. Mario, Young Link, Roy and Mewtwo, because hackers have found bits of them coded into the game, along with Plusle and Minun, Dixie Kong, and others.

Actually, my friend wanted Vaati in Brawl, too. And as for the subject, Sakurai said in an interview he isn't sure he'll do it or not.
As for characters, there are three I have in mind...
Isaac-Golden Sun
One of Nintendo's best RPG's for the GBA. I just wish he was more than an Assist Trophy... Isaac is the main character of the series and also my favorite. He would've been great, pulling off his Psynergy on everyone. His FS would be that he summons Iris, the strongest summon in the game.
Saturos and Menardi-Golden Sun
From the same game. These two would be treated as one character, being able to switch between them at will. Both fight with various fire moves, though Saturos uses a sword and Menardi uses a scythe. Their FS would be [SPOILER!] they transform into the twin headed dragon from the end of the game and release one blast.
Ivy-Soul Calibur
After I saw a fake Brawl profile on deviantart, I think she would be really awesome. Ivy's normal attacks would be her sword slashes. Her smash attacks would be her weapon in whip form. Her FS would be her weapon breaks apart, fly around and slashing everyone, then return as her weapon.
