Izanagi had sensed Kaiba before he saw him. Sensed him in the sense that he'd felt an energy extremely similar to Kisa's coming from nearby. The energy had been faint at best, but it had been recognizeable enough for Izanagi to know who was approaching. By now Izanagi was sure that Kisa could walk on her own, and released her as Kaiba came around the corner.
The way that Kaiba had reacted to Kisa's appearance, while only lasting for a moment, said much to Izanagi, who had smirked during that short second. Perhaps it was something to do with reincarnation after all. Kaiba certainly knew Kisa, even if his switch to hatefully glaring was a glaringly obvious attempt to cover it up.
"Her name's Kisa Shiroi, and she has a couple things to ask you," Izanagi said before Kisa could respond to Kaiba. He was still smirking. Kaiba's misfortune amused him at any and all times.
----------------------
Minato had been lost in his thoughts for a moment before Ryoji had asked if he was coming. He looked up and nodded before following after Ryoji.
"Yeah, I'm coming. Sorry," Minato said.
-----------------
Adachi was still confused, but he let Yuugi try to explain things. He looked away as Bakura asked Yuugi to go home. It wasn't so much asking as it was pleading. Adachi turned toward Yuugi as the shorter teen apologized to Bakura. Did Yuugi blame himself for what had happened?
It took Adachi a moment to remember he was standing in front of the door, and he stepped to the side so that Yuugi could go through. "Er, sorry..."

Kisa glanced towards Izanagi as he had answered. She hadn't needed his help. She was capable of introducing herself. She wasn't the only one who had looked at Izanagi. For a moment Kaiba had shifted his glare to the god and his gaze had somehow managed to become harsher before it returned to Kisa. She kept her gaze on Kaiba's as their eyes returned to each other at the same time. Kaiba finally let the cards go and stood with his arms crossed. If Kisa had changed outfits she could have been a clone. The name was similar as well.
"Are you Seto-san...?"
Kaiba's hmphed, "I don't recall giving you permission to use my given name."
"Have we met?"
Kaiba narrowed his eyes, "No. Don't act like you know me either. Do you really have something to say or are you just wasting my time?"
Kisa looked down to reach into her jacket pocket. Kaiba raised an eyebrow. He was well aware Izanagi was watching the proceedings with a smirk. But really, how much could the teenager know? He did seem to be doing better than he had the other day. Kisa pulled out the cased card. Kaiba caught the back first, it seemed to be one of those cards he'd seen in the shops. They weren't from his world, from some company he'd never heard of named Konami. As if the cards originated in Japan, what a laugh.
She turned it around and showed the front to him. Kaiba's glaze intensified when he saw the front. He knew the card all right. The coding near the bottom was wrong the same way the back was, but other than that it was identical to the three in his deck and the torn one Yuugi had returned to his grandfather.
"You know this card, right?"
"Get to the point," Kaiba growled.
"Did you try to use something like this earlier?"
Kaiba's eyes widened. How the hell did she know about that? He turned his glare onto Izanagi. The teenager had known about the Millenium Eye before he'd given it to Atem. Kaiba remembered that the one black haired teenager had "recognized" him. How much did other worlds know about him, anyhow? He looked back at Kisa.
"I asked you before, but I don't think I got an honest answer. Who the hell are you?"
----------
Yuugi didn't say anything else when Adachi moved. He gave another look towards Bakura and forced a smile. The Ring hadn't gotten back to him yet, he was sure that was a good sign. Considering events in the past, they had to keep the Ring away from Bakura physically as well. Just in case. Bakura looked away from Yuugi and the short teenager hung his head before walking to the door and heading out. He'd done what he came there for. Bakura was alright for the time being. He closed the door behind him and Bakura let out a sigh. This was why he kept people at a distance. He was always hurting them.
"Adachi-san," he looked up, "Did... Did you really try to kill Takahashi-san?"

Izanagi crossed his arms as Kaiba went on. Oh yes, this was getting interesting. Souji was still observing, but the fact that he wasn't saying anything meant that Izanagi didn't appear to be out of it in the least. In fact, he seemed even more focused on things.
It would appear he tried to use that card after all, Izanagi noted at Kaiba's reaction to what Kisa said. He smirked even wider as Kaiba asked who the hell she was.
"I think you already know the answer to that question, Kaiba," Izanagi stated. "Or are you so far into the depths of denial that you won't admit that fact to yourself?"
--------------------
Adachi looked nervous as Bakura put him on the spot. Again the subject of Takahashi, and again Adachi found himself hating his big mouth. That had been the whole reason he'd been figured out to be the killer before. Adachi sighed and leaned up against the wall, or rather, the door. He finally nodded.
"Takahashi's been looking into the case with Anpu... a lot. He's been suspicious of Anpu ever since Seta got kidnapped... maybe before. Anpu was starting to feel threatened and threatened to take you away if nothing was done about Takahashi. You already get previous little time in control of your own body as it is..." Adachi closed his eyes. "If Anpu left and took you with him, you'd probably never see the light of day again. So I did something I never thought I'd have to do again. I pushed Takahashi into the other side... though that bear friend of Seta's saved him... and the Ring got taken away from you when that Kimura kid attacked you. So it was worthless."

"If I wanted your opinion, I would ask for it," Kaiba barked at Izanagi.
Kisa blinked as Izanagi answered for her again. Seto knew her? She wanted to tell Izanagi she could answer his questions. She told herself if he answered for her again, she would. She turned back towards Kaiba while processing the situation in her head. Her chest felt tight again, and the hand not holding the card went up to it as she took a deep breath. Kaiba continued to glare as she fixed her focus on him.
"Who do you think I am?"
"I could ask you the same question," Kaiba growled. The most annoying part was the enjoyment he know the silver haired teenager was getting out of the situation.
Kisa lifted her hand from her chest and held it up in case Izanagi tried to answer again, "I think you are a man named Kaiba Seto. I suspect you are a man that tried to use a card similar to this one earlier. I think you seem familiar to me, but I can not place from where. You say we haven't met, but that first look you gave me was one of reluctant recognition. I know the name Seto sounds familiar and yet foreign at the same time. So please tell me," she looked depressed, "Who do you think I am?"
"I think you're someone who enjoy getting a kick out of harassing someone from a world you've seen on television," Kaiba said. For a moment, his voice had wavered as if he were trying to decide to continue the attitude. It had settled back into the attitude by the time he continued, "As for the card, I don't see how it is your business if I tried to use it earlier or not. I don't care if you came up with his idea or if he put you up to it, but I have better things to do than dance on your strings."
"Seto-san, wait!"
Kaiba had begun to turn to go back the way he came. He knew she had said "Seto-san". That was what he had heard in his head. But like an echo something else played in his mind. Something like a memory, something like the words he had expected to hear. The voice was identical, after all. "Seto-sama", or more accurately, "Set-sama" considering Japanese pronunciations. He'd paused in response to what she said.
"Do not speak to me so familiarly!" He barked before walking forward back into the alley.
Kisa just stood there. None of her questions had been answered, not a one. In fact, that encounter had created more questions than it had answered. He knew her. They had never met, she was sure of that, but he knew her. And she recognized him, although she couldn't say she knew him. She hung her head. She was sure he had used the card. If he tried to use it again, what would happen? Would she feel her soul trying to be ripped out from her again?
"I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused you, Izanagi-sama," she repocketed her card, "I am able to make it home by myself. Thank you."
She turned around, making a point to not look at Izanagi. It wasn't too hard. Her head was hanging and her hair shielded her face. She felt the sting of tears trying to form, but they hadn't formed yet. Why did his attitude upset her this much...?
----------
Bakura couldn't hide the pained expression on his face as Adachi spoke. Souji had shown such hate towards Adachi, which implied that he knew about this side of the man. He rubbed his throat as he remembered some of the encounters Anpu and Adachi had had. So... that was why Anpu had been so amused at things? Because Adachi was really like that?
The white haired teenager's head jerked up as Adachi said again. Again. That meant... that meant he was right. Adachi had done stuff like that before. Still, Bakura couldn't find himself being scared of Adachi. Had the man wanted to kill him, he would have. He wouldn't have objected the way he had to throwing both him and Anpu into the "other side". Bakura shook his head and refocused on Adachi. His expression was a bit harsher than usual, and seemed to hover between his soft eyes and Anpu's harsher ones.
"What do you mean, again? Adachi-san, how many people have you tried to kill?" Bakura's expression softened again and he looked down as a thought occurred, "Or... or killed?"

Izanagi finally let the smirk drop as Kaiba walked away. The man was in denial. Amazingly massive denial. And his ego was still so large that out of the two of them, it would be Kaiba's head that wouldn't fit through the torii, not his own. But most importantly, Izanagi found himself reevaluating his theory about Kisa being an avatar of some sort. It was entirely possible Souji's theory had been right, and that she really was some sort of reincarnation, which would make Kaiba one too. And one who knew his past life, natch.
He turned toward Kisa as she informed him that she was going home. He nodded. "Alright. Take care of yourself. I may not be around to rescue you again."
He chuckled to himself as he started walking away. He hadn't gone far before Souji spoke up again.
You didn't have to act like that back there.
Izanagi continued walking as he answered Souji. His reactions were amusing, you have to admit.
I think you've done enough damage.
Izanagi closed his eyes and let Souji take dominance again, his stance shifting accordingly. Souji sighed and looked down at the newspaper Izanagi had picked up before. He could look at it later. He turned around to look at Kisa before turning back around again. Him apologizing for Izanagi wouldn't do anything to help.
---------------------
Adachi hadn't realized exactly what he'd said until the words were already out of his mouth, and once again he was berating himself and his big mouth. He hadn't meant to say again. Hell, he hadn't even meant to say that he had done stuff like that before. It was like his subconcious had decided that Adachi couldn't lie to Bakura anymore.
There were a few moments of silence before Adachi answered Bakura.
"Two women. The first one wasn't intentional, the other was. I attempted to kill two others. One of them was a copycat killer who had been trying to take the blame for the first two deaths. The other was a Persona user who had outlived his purpose," Adachi said. "The second guy had been staying at a hospital after getting the shit beaten out of him by Seta's group in the other side. I had been planning on getting rid of him while he was being transferred to another hospital, but Seta's group got to me first."
Adachi put a hand on his head. "And then I got possessed by a damn disco eyeball who tried to turn everyone in the real world into Shadows. So if we're being specific, I attempted to kill everyone on earth. But I only managed to kill two people."

Bakura found himself grasping at the thought that Adachi had been defending himself as the man mentioned the two women. The first was an accident, he couldn't be blamed for that. The second... he found himself begging that it had been to defend himself. Then he mentioned two others he'd tried to kill. It was too many, but he wanted to think Adachi had been protecting someone. The first was bothersome... and then he described the other. Outlived his purpose. It shattered Bakura's hopes.
He didn't like Souji much from the description either. Why had the teenager needed to beat the crap out of anyone? Then again, Souji struck him as a bit on the violent side sometimes. So maybe that could explain things. As Adachi was telling Bakura about the "disco eyeball", Bakura had began to stumble backwards. When the backs of his ankles hit the couch, he just fell into a sitting position. He barely heard the words about trying to kill everyone on earth. He'd been possessed, that part wasn't the issue.
There was an awkward silence. It lasted minutes with no exaggeration as Bakura had his hand over his face. Maybe Adachi wouldn't try to kill him. Maybe Adachi was trying to protect him. That wasn't the issue. The issue was that the man in front of him was a murderer, and someone who didn't have a problem repeating his attempts if he felt cornered. To protect him? He didn't want anyone to die! Hell, that included Anpu. He'd agreed to the whole thing before because there hadn't been another option. And honestly, if he'd been put behind bars it would have been better for everyone.
Five minutes of pure silence had passed before Bakura lowered his hand and looked at Adachi. It was an interesting concept. Before the thoughts had taken minutes to form. Now they were going past in less than a second. Five seconds after lowering his hand he managed to find words.
"I'll be honest, Adachi-san," the matter of fact and almost emotionless way he was speaking frightened himself a bit, "I don't know if I can stay here knowing all that."
Considering the emotions churning in his chest, his calm was even more surprising. Even more frightening. Bakura was still speaking politely, he was still using the same pronouns and applying the same honorifics. But the calm tone was identical to the calm tone Anpu could adopt. Bakura was laying his chips on the table. He knew he was afraid Adachi was going to try and remove him. There was a television in the room, after all. If he tried, Bakura had a feeling he wouldn't be able to put up much of a fight. The information overload made him feel weak, really. His eyes remained on Adachi.

With every minute that passed, Adachi felt things get even more tense. He knew he shouldn't have told Bakura this. He knew he should have kept things hidden longer. Or hell, never told him at all. That would have been better. To have not even mentioned that he'd tried to kill Takahashi at all. That would have been better. To not even mention things.
Three minutes had passed, and Adachi was back to looking down at the floor. He couldn't look Bakura in the face now. He felt like an idiot. Not only that, but he was sure what was going through Bakura's mind. Disbelief. Maybe hate. Some of the same feelings that had gone through Seta's little group's heads when they found out about his true self.
Five minutes had passed. Adachi had been about to say something to break the horrid silence when Bakura spoke up first. Adachi closed his mouth and looked to the side.
"...I figured that was going to be the case. I won't blame you if you decide to leave here and now."
It had only been a day before that Adachi had been thinking to himself that he thought of Bakura like a son. And of course, fate had to be a bitch and Adachi had to end up fucking up like this again. Adachi moved away from the door as he thought this. If Bakura left now, he wouldn't stop him. Adachi's feelings for Bakura didn't change the fact that he was a murderer, one who had killed as part of a sick game for his own amusement that might have ended with his victory if Nametame hadn't put Dojima's kid in the other side.
((OOC: Not feelings like that you sickos. D: Adachi with anyone is just creepy.))

Bakura didn't stand up. He didn't give much in the way of any reaction. He had said what he'd said calmly, but he didn't know what to do. He'd expected Adachi to argue the point. He'd thought it was possible Adachi might attack him, but he didn't expect such a resigned response. He looked at the floor again. He wanted to tell himself he'd be safer if he stayed here, but he couldn't process that thought. No, he'd been convinced Adachi had been misjudged by Souji's group. So right now he couldn't be sure of even what he thought he was sure of. He let out a sigh and put his hands on the couch and stood up.
Even at sixteen, he was the same height as the man, or damn close. He opened his mouth, but stopped himself from saying anything before he even looked up. No, even if Adachi looked like he needed someone to rely on right now, he wasn't going to stay. Maybe he wasn't going to stay because Adachi looked like he needed someone to rely on. After all, people never listened ot him when he said he wanted to be alone. It always got them into trouble too. He forced himself to look up, but Adachi was staring at the floor again. He took in a deep breath and walked foward.
He paused again with his hand on the door handle. It wasn't like he had anywhere to go. Souji scared him a bit, and everyone in the apartments as Souji's friend. Minato was staying with... that thing. Yuugi would probably take him in, but he'd caused the short teenager enough trouble already. Many times. He turned the handle on the door and pulled it open. He said nothing else as he walked out. Apologies would just make things worse, and he wasn't going to bother Adachi. The door was closed lightly and it was be sheer force of will Bakura was able to walk forward. He didn't know what he was going to do, but he knew he didn't need to stay there and be depressed.
(OOC: No, the thread will not be closed after your next post. More is going to happen here. XD)

Adachi watched Bakura walk out of the door without saying a word. That was it. He'd fucked up again and this was how it was. It wasn't until he heard the door click closed that he looked up and walked toward the couch. He sat down in the same spot Bakura had been sitting in before and looked back down at the floor, a pained expression on his face.
Dammit, Tohru, why can't you keep your damn mouth shut?
He punched the wall behind him. He should have known this was going to happen. Seta lived right across the damn hall. Bakura was friends with Yuugi, and Yuugi knew about that whole damn situation from Seta. Bakura would have found out eventually. Maybe it was better he'd told him now instead of making it even worse when Bakura found out later.
Maybe he should have just realized that stupid kid was bad news to begin with. He'd never cared for other people, anyways. Never had much attachment to them in the least. He'd seen the world for what it really was, after all, he knew that people were all scum and Seta's little group just needed to get over themselves already. So maybe he should have just told Bakura to fuck off and get himself a hotel room instead of taking the kid in like that.
He covered his face with his hands. He was such a goddamn idiot. And he didn't know why, but he'd gotten so damn attached to Bakura. Why else had he helped Anpu out so much even though the easier solution may have been to toss the bastard into the other side? And now that Bakura had left, he couldn't make sure Bakura was safe from the Ring. Anpu was probably trying to get back to Bakura as he sat there.
The other side.
Adachi uncovered his face. He'd accidentally separated Yuugi and Atem before by throwing the Puzzle into the other side. And Atem had the Ring now. Maybe there was a chance Anpu would get the ability to summon a Persona. Or he might die over there. The next rainy day wouldn't be for a while... It would take a while, but Anpu could end up dead.
The problem was getting the Ring from Atem... Well, Izanagi could handle that, right? Even if Izanagi couldn't get the Ring from Atem on his own, he could force Atem to hand it over. He could finally do something about it. Even though Bakura might have decided that he couldn't stay there anymore, Adachi could at least protect him from that bastard Anpu.

Yuugi and Atem had missed each other by minutes. At most. It was just as Yuugi was closing the door to their apartment that Atem was entering the complex again. Kaiba was being a fool. He was letting his ego get in the way of things once again. He'd seen the world of the past. He'd known enough about his past life to know that the Memory World had been off on several accounts, probably a result of more visions than that one the Millenium Rod had showed them when they had pitted Osiris and Obelisk against each other.
He sighed and looked down at his pocket. His style of dress meant the outline of the Ring could be clearly seen. He held his hand over his pocket. There was a moment of hesitation before he pulled it out by the now split rope. Naoto and Kanji didn't realize this, but if the Ring had wanted to express itself on him, that contact alone would have been enough. It was one of two main reasons he didn't think Anpu could surface on anyone other than his reincarnation. He was sure the powers of the Item were accessible, but not that factor.
Atem tensed up when the prongs on the Ring began to shake. They weren't pointing anywhere yet. The reaction was little more than what a small breeze would have caused. He jerked his head up as he heard footsteps and tried to will the Ring to settle down. It seemed to be working for a moment... until Bakura rounded the corner.
"Bakura, get out of here!" Atem shouted. It was loud enough for those on both the first and second floor to hear due to the thin walls of the Apartments.
Bakura had been walking with his head hanging down. He felt a bit on the shattered side of things. He'd let himself trust someone... something he hadn't wanted to do ever again. He was friends with Yuugi, as much as he could be considering the situation in the past year and a half, and he considered himself on good terms with most of Yuugi's friends. But it had been different with Adachi, there had been a different kind of trust there. And then he'd learned that Souji and the others had been right to not trust him.
He lifted his head in surprise as he heard a voice too harsh to be Yuugi's shout at him. It was close, Bakura had to admit there were times when he almost mixed the voices the two teenagers had up. There was a lack of honorific as well, so he had no doubt who it was by the time his head had lifted. His eyes widened and he took a step back as he saw what Atem had a deathgrip on. However, his body locked up and didn't allow him to move further. He remembered the last time that had happened and his eyes widened as his armed lifted of its own volition, the palm facing Atem.
Atem hissed as an intense burning sensation hit the area of his hand holding onto the Ring. It was as if he had stuck his hand on a hot burner. He tried to hang on, but the inside of his hand didn't have the ability. It wasn't the pain, it was just that the burn meant he couldn't hold onto it. The Ring shot out of his hand and the stature and expression of the white haired teenager that caught it was not those of Bakura's. Anpu pulled the Ring close to himself and smirked at it. He looked up and saw Atem glaring at him while holding his burnt hand close. The smirk widened and he began to chuckle.
"I'll have to admit, Pharaoh, certain memories of my host prove useful."

Adachi wasn't sure how exactly he was going to pull things off without getting in trouble with Seta's group. Probably impossible. He'd been hanging around that group long enough to know that there wasn't much he could do related to the other side that wouldn't piss them off. And he was technically trying to kill someone again.
He looked up as he heard someone a floor down yell Bakura's name. It was loud. And there was panic evident in the voice, which Adachi now realized was Atem's voice. Adachi shot up out of his seat and ran out of the door. He didn't know what the hell was going on, but he had to find out, now.
He was running as fast as he could, which was slightly painful due to the still healing bruise on his chest. He half-stumbled down the stairs, and turned the corner as he heard Bakura speaking from down the hallway.
"Ryou!"
He stopped in his tracks when he turned the corner and saw a white-haired man standing there, holding something, and in front of him was Atem, who appeared to have injured his hand. Adachi's eyes widened as he realized that was very much not Bakura. Standing there was Anpu. One day. One fucking day. Atem hadn't been able to keep the Ring away from Bakura longer than that, and now Anpu was back.
Adachi remained frozen in his tracks, unsure of what to do.

Anpu had turned his head towards the footsteps. He'd heard them approaching as soon as he had taken dominance, but the jab at the Pharaoh had been more important. Anpu focused on Adachi about the time he stopped. The man was giving a nasty glare to both him and Atem. Anpu chuckled again as he tied the rope around his neck. It meant it was almost a choker due to how much rope he had to use to make a good knot, but it would do for now.
Atem knew he had to pick his words carefully. He couldn't just ask how much Atem knew about the Ring and what it could do. If the Thief King didn't know about the other powers, a line like that would cause him to suspect things. The fact that he had accessed Bakura's memories to allow him to summon the Ring to himself was concerning enough. Atem clamped down on his tongue with his mouth remaining closed from the pain flexing his hand was causing. He didn't know why the Ring had done that, it was nothing Zorc had ever caused it to do.
"You have something to say, Pharaoh?" Anpu taunted. He was aware of Adachi's position but his focus seemed to be on Atem.
"Who attacked you?"
"You want to avenge Ryou, is that it? Tell me, Pharaoh, do you remember your last experience with a demon? Oh wait, that's right. You're here now because of that. And you can't even protect one you consider an innocent, can you? Ryou's not that innocent, anymore than your boyfriend is," Anpu's smirk changed to a scowl, "I think the word for it now is karma... your boyfriend is as to blame for my village as you are, Pharaoh."
Atem's gaze was damn harsh. His deck pouch was on his right side, the same side as his burnt hand. He didn't even think about how he was broadcasting his intentions as he reached across his body and flipped it open. He couldn't summon a Ka that needed a tribute, Kaiba had proven that. He hesitated as that thought crossed his mind and pulled his hand back. Anpu raised an eyebrow. The Thief King had reached into the left inside pocket of his trenchcoat when he saw Atem's hands moving. He didn't have to check to make sure he had the right card, his fingers had thumbed through them and it felt right.
"Changed your mind?" Anpu smirked.
"No," Atem said, holding his left hand with the palm upwards. A blue flame appeared and faded into a Persona card, "Is it going to take Bakura's death to free him?"
Anpu smirked as he pulled his hand out from the inside of his trenchcoat, "I don't know what power you intend on using with that card, Pharaoh, but unless you intend on summoning the Phantom Gods I believe you know you're outgunned? And what would your boyfriend think of you killing Ryou? Would he approve, I wonder...?"

Adachi's glare deepened as Anpu continued to speak. The bastard was saying that Bakura and Yuugi were just as guilty as the people they were reincarnations of? Adachi didn't know the whole situation and he could still tell that was bullshit. He looked toward Atem as the tanned teen reached into his deck pouch. Adachi remembered how Anpu had fought him with those trading cards before. So it looked like the Pharaoh was going to fight back.
He blinked as what Atem ended up pulling out instead was quite simply a Persona card. He'd known that the Pharaoh could summon a Persona, but Adachi had never actually seen it in action. Actually, he didn't think he'd ever seen Atem fight.
Adachi's expression didn't change as Atem asked if it would take Bakura's death to finally free him from Anpu. In fact, Adachi's expression was leaning a bit toward the creepier ones he was known for. It didn't change as Anpu asked if Atem's boyfriend would approve of Ryou's death. But Adachi finally moved as Anpu said that.
"It looks like you forgot what I told you before," Adachi said with an eerily calm tone. "I told you before that I'd kill Ryou if it meant I could get rid of you."
There was a sound like shattering glass, and a large bloody Persona manifested behind Adachi. It was possible Atem would recognize it; the Puzzle had been kidnapped by it before. Adachi smirked as Magatsu Izanagi manifested. Hadn't even hurt that time.
"If the 'Pharaoh' won't kill you, then I will," Adachi said, still very calmly. He didn't sound amused, though, which was odd, considering that when he got like this, he usually did.

Shit...
Anpu had shifted the majority of his focus to Adachi as the man spoke up. He narrowed his eyes despite still not looking at him as Adachi reminded him of the words he had said before. He actually did turn his head at the sound of Adachi summoning his Persona. He only had one card out, and while he had faith in his own Ka, he wasn't sure he could take on both the Pharaoh and the man his host had been staying with. He gritted his teeth. The last time he could recall a situation this tight, he'd quite simply barged into the throne room with the coffin of Atem's father.
Atem had stopped just before his hands snapped the Persona card in half as Magatsu Izanagi appeared. He didn't know it by sight, but he did know the presence. He didn't like having to do this, but the best chance of actually saving Bakura required it. He refocused on Anpu, who he could tell was aware he was a bit trapped. He tightend his grip on the card.
"Remove the Ring and let Bakura surface, Anpu," Atem said, his own voice flat. He then gave what was quite simply an order, "Adachi, unless you want Bakura to die, fall back if he does so!"
Anpu was remaining still. The larger threat at the moment was Adachi. He was the one with his "Persona" summoned. He knew from painful experience the thing was damn fast. He was also keeping an eye out for any kind of opening. He didn't do anything at Atem's order. He wanted to see how Adachi would react. There was a chance the dislike the two held for each other would prove an advantage, but he had to stall for it to happen...

Adachi scowled as Atem gave him what was quite simply an order to back off. Only if Anpu backed off and dropped the Ring first, of course. Otherwise Izanagi here was going to give Anpu a piece of his mind. Adachi had been wanting to do that for a very long time. If it required Bakura's death to do so, that was fine, or at least it was in Adachi's current state of mind.
"Tch. Whatever you say, 'Pharaoh'," Adachi said. Even though they had a common goal, Adachi wasn't too happy about working with Atem. He still didn't like Atem and his connection to those damn items.
Magatsu Izanagi retained its position behind Adachi. It had its gaze trained on Anpu, and it was clear that if Anpu tried anything funny, it would attack.
